Canadians, like us Aussies, in general always stood up for the people most in need, or the "underdog", if you will. Seeing these two amazing humans standing up for what they believe in, brings us all closer to the heart. (Geez I miss Neil). Speaking of whom, I think it's about time Geddy and Alex made some new music for us. Not as Rush. There can never be Rush without the Professor. But I know there must be some more to hear from these two incredibly talented and humble humans, and I for one can't wait to hear what they come up with.

I always thought Midnight Oil was like Australia’s version of Tragically Hip. And vice versa. I hitchhiked through Australia in 1992 with a Walkman and two tapes on play: The Hip’s Road Apples and the Oils’ Diesel and Dust. And then my friend and I saw the Oils play in Perth. It was wild. Peter Garrett played through a thunderstorm. He was a wild man. I never experienced anything that approaches that until the Hip’s final tour. They were ours. The best Canada has to offer. RIP Gord.

Sometimes I freeze until the light comes
Sometimes I fly into the night
Sometimes I fight against the darkness
Sometimes I'm wrong, sometimes I'm right...
Coiled for the spring or caught like a creature in the headlights
Into a desperate panic or a tempest of blind fury
Like a cornered beast or a conquering hero
      The menace threatens, closing
And I'm frozen in the shadows
I'm not prepared to run away
And I'm not prepared to fight
      I can't stand to reason
      Or surrender to a reflex
      I will trust my instincts
      Or surrender to my fright
Sometimes we freeze, until the light comes
Sometimes we're wrong, and sometimes we're right
Sometimes we fight, against the darkness
Sometimes we fly, into the night
      Blood running cold
Mind going down into a dark night
      Of a desperate panic

The question is, can Erin* O'Toole and his conservatives do it? He's talked about wanting to be a little more progressive. Who else can step up? Jagmeet Singh? He doesn't have anywhere near enough support. Canadians are just going to have to demand better, plain and simple.

No, they didn't. It's keeping up appearances, really. This pathetic excuse of a "ruling class" are using beloved canadians to push a bullshit agenda that seems to be falling apart in most parts of the world. What a horrendous time to be alive in this once great country. I'd give whatever I have to get the hell out of here asap, to be honest

Kudos to the Hip for the good charitable things they do and have done...but damn, as much as it hurts me to say this being Canadian and alI... have never had any use for their music or Gord's voice. One of my least favorite Canadian groups of all time.

Why don't you expose the real cause and culprits instead of begging for money playing politics. Wouldn't that make much more sense? How about a FIND THE CAUSE campaign instead. Now that would be a campaign I would donate to. You can't compare Rush to this drivel either. It's not even close.
