I also remember back when the kids were younger and we shopped for school supplies. The teachers would send home a recommended list of school supplies. I found that very helpful. Now my daughter is grown with kids of her own. Yes, Grammy still buys school supplies for the grandkids. 😊

I participate in Op Christmas Boxes for several years now, and have volunteered on assembly. With not having any kids that are school age, I look for Local businesses that are collecting supplies etc... and each year I budget about $500.00 for purchasing a haul for the local schools also. ❤
I really enjoyed your back to school video. I used to enjoy back to school shopping with my kids. They spent so much time picking out their backpacks. You showed so many items that you could use for home organization too. Great job.

It's funny how stores can lower prices yet still make money. Makes you wonder what the mark up is.
I remember buying school supplies for my 6 kids. It was hard to afford things then but couldn't imagine having to do it now!
They made up for it by raising other prices. Walmart 1/2 gal milk went up 20 cents. Krogers took the watermelons off sale, $2.00 higher. Cantaloupes were OVER RIPE, Skin fell off if you touched it. The potatoes I bought last week, and used once, were mostly rotted. New ones don't come in until late Aug/Sept.
Years ago Staples had a back to school commercial that I thought was hilarious. The parents were high fiving each other and their kids were walking behind them looking really depressed. Too funny!
The divided lunch kit is called a bento box. They are common in Asia, especially in Japan. Have a great day.

Those hard plastic snap-lid pencil boxes make a nice little container for a first aid kit in the car - they fit under the seat.

Meijer had a lot of Crayola crayons and markers for $.50 and $1. I bought one of each to have extras at the house.I am going to vacuum-seal the pack of markers to make them last. Crayola crayons last forever.
I always bought school supplies for my kids and grandkids at Walmart
I wish they had the school clothes when my son and grandkids were in school. The basics were at Walmart, (polo shirts in the right colors and khakis)) but they were few. Now they have the 'school spirit' shorts, and sweatshirts. They were expensive through the schools or sport shops.
The lamps would be for dorm rooms or student apartments. One of my granddaughters is renting a house with friends when she goes to UK in Lexington. I gave her a gift card to Kohl's because this time of year they have sales on bedding, linens, and housewares. I have gotten great deals on pillows, towels, etc. this time of year there.
Because they would be sharing a bathroom, I had given her a gift of a nice shower caddy and loaded it up with mostly Dollar Tree and on-sale items elsewhere, like a hairdrying towel, special soaps, bath poof, manicure set, pedicure set and other beauty implements, lip balm, shower bombs, body butter, fancy toothbrush, anything that caught my eye that she could use.
When looking at lamps, make sure they’ll take a bulb bright enough for the job.

Thank you so much for going through all of the back-to-school stuff!! Our oldest son and I were at Walmart yesterday, but just to get him some.pants and a couple shirts. I saw the backpacks, but didn't have time to go through them and really look. So thank you for spending some time in them☺️
Kleenex and hand sanitizer will be on the school list, each school is different. Glue sticks and folders. Good time to see if computer paper is on the TAX FREE HOLIDAY list.

Yes, and the students often get a list of supplies to buy, to contribute to the class. I used to be a teacher, but so happy to be homeschooling. We still buy tons of fun supplies though! 😂

This is a great service you are doing for the parents or grandparents. I remember always getting to school totally unprepared and then it was hard to know where to get things and what to get beyond a pencil or pen. I guess parents are more informed now. I really didn’t like it when my kids were required to carry around backpacks that weighed 50 pounds in order to not lose the books and supplies, It was ridiculous that the schools didn’t care about students physical well being more than that. All the books weighed 3 times as much as books of old. We didn’t even have backpacks when I was young. We had our desk and when we got to high school we had a locker. World is messed up, overshadowed by smartphones and ever possible thievery.
