Sigriswil, a holiday mountain village, lies above the Lake of Thun on a mountain slope facing south, and offers breathtaking picturesque beauty of Swiss chalets, assimilated into the backdrop of lake, mountains, and the Bernese Alps.
THUN lies at the north-western end of Lake Thun, and is the gateway to the Bernese Oberland. The River Aare, which flows from Lake Thun after having come from Bern, shapes the cityscape of the eleventh-largest city in Switzerland with some 44,000 inhabitants.
Thun is also known as the summer capital of Switzerland. With mountains, rivers and the magnificent lake on its doorstep, Thun is a paradise for sports enthusiasts, sun worshipers and keen swimmers. The city’s most famous landmark is the mighty Thun Castle, with its tower that was built between 1180 and 1190, which towers majestically over the Old Town.

Thank you for an excellent video. I felt that I was riding in the car with you. I notice the weather on May 1st around the Thunersee was very good! Around the Vierwaldstattersee there was quite a lot of cloud, How do I know? On May 1 I was travelling in that area using a Swiss Travel Pass which (like the GA) gives free travel on the Rigibahnen.
Glad you enjoyed. Weather changes quite quickly in the mountain regions, and this region is no exception. Best App is ‘MeteoSwiss’, download it for more accurate weather information in different parts of Switzerland.

Just last week we cancelled a hike to Niesen due to still enough snow there. In June, we will probably go there but dates aren’t fixed yet (probably late June).😉
@@AKSense I know a guy in Lauterbrunnen (born and raised there) who is over 40 and has never been to Niesen. I told him he misses a great antiquated and rickety funicular ride. Also, longest in Europe, I think? But I was preparing for the Treppenlauf (not to participate, too lazy for that!) and then this Warsaw visit pops up at the same time. Your video looks _great_ as always, BTW. Is this the route that the Thun-Interlaken bus takes (bus 21?) or some other secret road?
