The fact that the whole beach stood up for Jessenia after she did the same thing (kinda) to Ivan, but stayed silent when it came to Natasha’s situation with Brendan/Pieper says a lot about the “popularity contest” we often see in bachelor nation. So disappointing.
Yep! They didn’t want to go after their friends but Chris and Alana were new/unknown so they went after them. It was very high school to me and I didn’t like it. Pack mentality always happens on these shows.
I will be really disappointed if they dont give them the same treatment next week.

The thing that disgusted me the most about Brendan's behavior wasn't even his half-a$$ed attempt of pretending he wasn't just playing a game to be around for Pieper - It was the way he spoke about Natasha after. Saying she had no prospects, she was annoying, like she should be grateful to HIM for keeping her around. The irony of the situation is that both of them would have done better influencer wise if they just stayed back home and didn't display their nasty true colors, since their followers plummeted. Because it's not smart to tell the public you are dating exclusively beforehand, but it is to talk about it on camera and how much you care about superficial fame.
This is exactly my take. I originally thought Natasha was so blind to not see what was coming. Then when I saw how hard Brendan leaned in to the lies and trying to make himself seem like her saviour it was clear to me how easy it is for him to lie.

i honestly never liked Brendan even when he was on Tayshia’s season. something was off about him, but i couldn’t really put my finger on it. i started to realize why i didn’t like him the moment he told Tayshia he wasn’t ready for marriage, then he came on the very next season of BIP anyway. to the people saying “you either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain” i don’t think he was ever a hero, i think he’s been a villain from the start. he basically played Tayshia just for followers, and now he’s doing it again to Natasha. the only difference is that he used to be way better at hiding it. i’m just glad everyone else is finally starting to see what i’ve seen in him all along.

Not just Serena but I think that Ivan, Tammy and a lot of the other people that are friends with Pieper and Brendan knew what was up. Blake said in Us Weekly that he thinks that producers put the the mic footage in the show after they found out that Pieper and Brendan played them to get on the show (probably when they were editing). If that's to be believe, then Serena is more than likely the person who Brendan was talking to. All this blind loyalty is going to comeback and bit them in the butt.

Brendan and Pieper didn't do the follower talk around the other contestants, that's why they aren't getting any heat. But I think their time will come.
Becca Kuffin confirmed this today on her podcast. Many of the cast members didn’t even know about the convos that he had with Pieper and also the producer.
I like Ivan but I was disappointed when he talked about Chris having a relationship prior to Paradise but when Natasha asked him to say something about Brendan behavior he didn't. Thank you for the recap. It helps me to see more clearly what took place

I'm probably going to regret saying this in a CZcams comment but: it's just super noticeable to me that Natasha was the darkest-skinned woman on the beach and got this incredibly gross treatment where Brendan acts like she's not desirable ("no prospects"), and THEN no one stuck up for her the way they stuck up for Jessenia. And, no, I'm not saying anyone's doing this intentionally, but people's behavior still reflects biases and stereotypes.
Anyway, Natasha's at 324k instagram followers right now, Brendan's lost 50k, and apparently we get our justice via instagram.

So yeah the only fault Natasha has in this is not listening to her gut. This is 100% about her being a black women being seen as disposable to a basic narcissistic white male and his biracial clout chaser. If she were Kendall or whatever, there would have been an uproar. AGREED I immediately noticed it. To be honest, the treatment of dark skin women on this show has always been horrendous. It pains me to say I’m not surprised that this happened to Natasha, and not to another girl. Natasha is easily the most naturally beautiful woman there and she has brains and personality. Brendan missed out.

The way Brenden act here really makes me thinks about him in Tayshia’s Season. Was really looking for love but wasn’t ready to get married or was never there with good intentions in the first place. Really makes you think back and remember when Brenden seemed really sweet and didn’t turn to the dark side 🤔
Brendan really sees how far he can get, than falls back and runs for the hills! He stayed on the season long enough to rack it up & get more modeling gigs… AS he is doing now

I didn’t trust him the second HE chose to leave first, but he showed no signs of “falling out of love with Tayshia” at all before that. It’s like he had it in his head that top four was enough to gain a big enough following and he planned to leave then so he wouldn’t risk getting chosen and having to fake it or turn her down. The reason Pieper and Brenden were not treated the same right away is obvious. As the viewers we see and hear what Pieper and Brenden are saying to each other. And we hear the bull shit Brenden is saying to Natasha. But the rest of the cast is not privy to all of that information. However with Chris, he screwed up in front of EVERYONE. There was no hiding. And Chris was stupid in talking to Joe and other about followers. While Pieper and Brenden were speaking to only each other about that. The problem here is Brenden is a master manipulator and Chris is a stupid manipulator.

Brendan never sat well with me fro when he was on Taysha season. He was there for the clout it’s why he Jeff the way he did. This doesn’t surprise me. He’s only showing his true colors. Loved how he was trying to play it off but Pieper was so dumb that he had to say “I was navigating this in a way to allow myself to potentially, hopefully be here while you’re here”. Pieper then responds with “I get it. We are good. I’m good like I’m not, you know Iget it like thanks for playing the game” then they laugh. They are so nasty and they could care less about anyone else’s feelings. (The quotes are actual quotes not typos 😂)

The cast turned into bullies. Please Jessenia went from Ivan to Chris and that was ok. Natasha was treated poorly very poorly and there was noJoe or Riley to say a darn thing. At this point I lost some respect for those who spoke 💩 towards Chris but didn’t say one thing to Brendan and Pieper (including Jessenia). He cliques are bs.
I said this in another post but it was always obvious to everyone that Brendan wasn't into her. Even if Pieper never showed up, he was never affectionate towards her and she had to make the first move. Plus they tried to warn her but she chose to take the risk anyway. Whereas Chris acted like he was there specifically for Jessinia then two minutes into the party he's crawling all over Alana right in her face. He didn't have to stay with her but he should have at least pulled her to the side and told her he wanted to pursue other options. I think the guys were blindsided the first time but couldn't believe this was happening again.
I completely agree with you! Riley and Joe were harsh towards Chris but not Brendan. They stood up for Jessenia but not Natasha. And the fact that a lot of them are friends with Brendan (including Ivan) and didn’t call him out on what he did wrong speaks volumes about them too!

I think this week really showed something: cast members need to stop hooking up before paradise and STOP coming to paradise with pre-established relationships. I am sick of having to learn about pre-show drama when the drama should be started at paradise. The producers need to start being more strict with who they cast because from my perspective, the bachelor franchise has completely lost touch with its roots. These shows are supposed to be about people genuinely finding romance but it’s just turned into a bunch of clout chasers who hook up with eachother at any chance they get :/ They gotta look more close into these people and be strict about hooking up pre-show. But based on what I’ve heard about who the next bachelor is, I don’t think they care. I think they just want drama and headlines. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s only a few seasons left of bachelor. Ratings are down, they don’t cast genuine people, and they continuously choose trash leads for the bachelor (they pick good bachelorette’s I will say that).
Also why did the second episode center around two D-List cast members? No one cares about Chris Conrad or Alana.

I completely agree that they need to be more diligent about pre-established relationships. They're digging their own grave by basically pulling back the curtain on clout chasing couples and dedicating the majority of two episodes to them. What's more, it makes it difficult for new audiences who are unfamiliar with past seasons and pre-show drama to get into the franchise altogehter and ultimately keep it going.
Demi has the emotional maturity of a 13 year old girl who just got her period, like it literally feels like i’m watching a little kid trying to hang with the adults. it’s so embarrassing for her. i don’t understand what happened because she was always annoying but she was never THIS annoying.

I think she just wanted to make a connection so that she would be invited to the beach and chill poolside for a few weeks but she over did it and she had to leave to get away from the wolves. She was pissed, she traveled all the way over there, got who knows how many covid tests along the way all to get chewed up and spat out in a matter of hours, lol!

Not new, but I fell out of like with both Pieper and Brendan before both of their seasons ended… basically for the same reason: they don’t take accountability. Pieper went on Bach Happy Hour after all the “faux blame Katie drama” had aired and was still blaming her rather than saying, “We effed up”. Rachel Lindsay literally had to say, “Pieper, Katie didn’t do anything. She called it out.” It was really weird that she hadn’t come to that conclusion after watching everything, got told off, but couldn’t explain why she thought she was right. Brendan literally just played Tayshia, and dipped before the end. Their drama is so lame, they can leave now. Also disappointed in a lot of people of the beach, who probably felt the weight of themselves not speaking up on the Brendan and Pieper situation, so they piled on Chris. Chris didn’t handle the situation well and maybe said some stupid things, but I don’t think it’s at all like Pieper and Brendan. I think both Jessenia and Alana had a crush on Chris, Chris picked Alana, and Jessenia got hurt and fueled the feeling of betrayal that everyone was already feeling with Pieper and Brendan. I was liking Jessenia too, but now I’m kinda back to thinking she’s a “mean girl”. Alana was just interviewed on Bach Happy hour about her experience. Also, why was Serena telling Brendan, “I think it’s gonna be okay?” Did she know that he was playing Natasha all along? Joe didn’t defend Natasha either (until now on social media). Gah! Everyone’s acting like a butthead (lol)🙃

Having a pretty face gets you away with a lot. Greg’s lack in effort in Katie’s compared to the rest of cast but still being the front runner despite the flags, comes to mind with Brendan. How is it that Natasha allowed herself to be strung along even with the Pieper rumors established early and the lack of effort coming from Brendan, just shows that being good looking gets concerns overlooked. I’m not faulting Natasha in this though because she was blatantly lied to but I’m now understanding why Brendan was flying under the radar, not just this episode but since Episode 1.

I would highly recommend people watch nick viall’s recap of this episode. He had a great guest Ali barthwell and Ali brought up the point of brendan’s true nature with how he was talking about Natasha, a beautiful successful dark skinned woman who is closer to his age and how belittling he was towards her while praising his 23 yr old light skinned girlfriend. He’s a f boy. And nick brought up the point that since Chris was never on good terms with the group it was easier to gang up on him because everyone likes Brendan.
