People acted like Aqib Talib was crazy when he said Goff was a really good quarterback. Glad to see he's finding success with the Lions.
@BROK agreed. The pick won't be high enough to draft Young or Stroud and personally I think Will Levis is overrated. It makes more sense to stick with Goff and continue to load up on defense.

I watched Goff his entire LAR career. Towards the end with McVey, they put him under center which is not his natural strength. He played shotgun exclusively at Cal. Glad Goff is thriving in Detroit. Even though we won a chip with Stafford, in the long term I think Goff will be more productive.

Goff needed a more relatable “player’s coach.” He got one and now he’s playing the best football of his career
He's always been a decent QB, IMO. He is a serviceable starter in this league who can sometimes perform like a star. It's just that every team is now trying to have a superstar as their QB. But you can build a successful team around a decent QB if you don't overpay them.

One of the cleanest, most professional Lions offensive gameplans I have ever witnessed. They dinked, dunked, prodded and straight up manhandled the bears today in every facet.
The bears d line is garbage they make every offense look good. Lets see how they do against the packers next sunday
This offense can dominate anyone when the line comes to play. Their window is right now and the next 3-4 years.
To be fair, it's pretty easy to look like a professional football team against the Bears defense. Their player with the most sacks on the season is a rookie safety with 4. And they're down to a backup CB, a backup to the backup of a CB, two backup Safeties, a backup linebacker, and rookies/practice squaders filling in the rest of the secondary. It's BAD and MEGA-BAD because the starters weren't that good to begin with. Maybe a top 15 defense with everyone healthy...
Not trying to take anything away from the Lions offense this season. Just clearly pointing out this is a full on tank from the Bears.

Goff's passes are like gold! I'm so used to watching Lions QBs getting picked off but Goff threads needles and finds the open guy or even when the guy is being covered Goff hits him anyway. Goff just doesn't get picked off. He definitely knows how to find his guys. It's nice not to have to cringe with each pass. As far as I can see, he is an elite quarterback.
Been excellent for sure, but still missing guys wide open throwing to less optimal guys in the route, and underthrowing/throwing behind the wideouts. I know it's nitpicking, but damn it's frustrating to see him playing SO well yet still not hitting guys in stride. Makes you wonder what could be if he'd get completely in sync and start hitting Chark and Jamo in stride like he usually does with Saint.

The Lions are going to be a problem next season. They are impressive and very talented. They are very good at almost every position. I don't know who was most impressive against the Bears. Check out James Houston at 9:23. He ran at Fields from 15 yards away, in mid stride he paused adjusted long enough reaccelerate although it looked like he never slowed down to make sure Fields had no chance of escape. 6th round pick, that's some serious scouting right there. He is a beast, Fields feasts on defenders who attempt to tackle him and he tracked him and sacked him with precision.
8 sacks in his first 6 games. The most ever!!!
What's crazy too is he barely had any snaps his first few games. This was the first time he played a lot and he got 3 sacks. He started the season on the practice squad. Dude seems insanely talented.

For real man. I like Fields, but I don't see him as a passer. Lamar and Allen are running Qb's too, but they are able to pass well. In Lamar's case, he only has one good weapon left, Mark Andrews. I guess we can't really judge Fields until he gets some real receivers, but I think he's kind of wasted being a QB when he's clearly a better runner than most running backs.

im a vikings fan, but i enjoy watching the lions play because i like dan campbell's offensive playcalling; lots of variety. keeps it interesting and the defense guessing. imo, i think dan spreads the ball very well to give all his offensive weapons a chance. he's one of those "play to win instead of play to not lose" type of guy. lots of respect for him.

I wasn’t even that mad watching my Bears get destroyed today-Detroit is a great story and I wish them very well. Their fans deserve this.
I hope your coaching staff and front office takes care of Fields - he hurt his knee on that last long run and they didn't run him again after that. Then he takes a helmet to helmet from Rodriguez against us, laying there on the ground he goes rigid and grasps Houston's jersey which were very scary signs. Then staggering around later in the game several times, walking to the wrong sideline at least once and having to be led off the field by teammates on more than one occasion when he was erroneously heading back out onto the field for 4th down when the punt team was coming on. No idea how he cleared protocol after the helmet to helmet hit, but he clearly wasn't right. The whole argument of "he needs the reps" (in regards to Fields) is just asinine IMO; he was getting destroyed in the 2nd half and lucky he was able to walk away from that game without a catastrophic injury. Let the kid rest in the 4th quarter when the game was already out of reach, let him sit next week and bring him back fresh for those "reps" in '23-'24.
@@Bluebloods7 I agree totally. By mid-third quarter the game was over. Eberflus said Fields wanted to play, but sometimes as a coach you have to save players from themselves. Fields has taken a beating this year and seems to be on pace to be RGIII, which is not good. He’s gonna play Sunday too, I just don’t know the risk reward is worth it for a 3-13 team looking to the future.

I like him too, but he is so hit or miss. If he can ball like that consistently he would be a perennial stud. More often than not, though, he disappoints by dancing around too much and going down too easy. He has the skills for sure!

idk about 12-4 but we have no excuse (as things currently stand), to not be NFC North champs and host a playoff game next year. That has to be the absolute minimum goal for us to attain in '23-'24, IMO.
When Hutchinson grows into his body, he is going to be very hard to stop.
Okudah made a stop last week on the goal line where he legitimately threw his body sideways at a guy in a 1v1 desperation play, he and Rodriguez are both fearless in the way they attack the ball.
