If any song talk about free sex its forbid. But if music remember you about love who granted by Allah is okay. Playing game is okay. Allah ask to human for entertaimen them self too. But if too much and forgot life is forbid. If the game is borrowing you yo violence is forbid. If games make you or having contain who make you far away. Its forbid

Here he is saying dancing is haram, he said DANCING ITSELF! not being a DANCER is haram. The difference is that being a dancer is showing people, while dance is DANCE itself that doesn't involve in talent shows and clubs/parties. If I dance by my own as a small part of my day is NOT haram because I also get time for woreship in a part of my day.
MY opinions about this topic all:
    1. Music SHOULDN'T just be called haram because it keeps u away from worship, u can do both! (I do both myself, is it that hard to believe?) listening to music can help with getting stress off, I'm not saying that Quran can't, it just another refreshing way. Songs that has bad words/sexual topics/drinking or any sin topics I consider as haram, because when u sing u begin to get used to the words and ur mind wouldn't find sins like this as big as someone who doesn't listen to the song, but OFC everything is based on INTENTIONS PEOPLE!!!
There is good songs out there, I personally listen to Drumstep, Dubstep, and Trap kinda music that most of them doesn't even have lyrics.. And if it does their are NOT sinful and I just love it while playing video games too.
    2. As I said, Muslims can devide their time to thank Allah AND have fun while doing what they love (dancing)
BUT ofc if girls start to dance like in some movies and begins to show, and show, and SHOW.. THIS will obviously be a problem because they are:
1- making other people (let's say guys who watched a movie where a girl dances) have sins, and guess who is getting these sins too? IT'S THE DANCER because she was part of making this, it's just fitna
2- When it becomes normal for her to dance, haya'a and modesty will fly away slowly, it becomes normal for her to hang out with any guy, there WON'T be barriers anymore... Which is happening rn as a sign of the hour.

Just to clarify some point because some person seems not understand completely the matter:
    1. Music is prohibited when it takes you away from God (for example the modern music is plenty of bad words, nude people, bad teaching etc..)
    2. Dancing is prohibited for men and women; is clear that dr. Naik was talking about women because body of women is more attractive during a dance so women must be protected from the eyes of other men.
    3. Music makes you dream about something that is not in your real life and music can also set your desires and bring you in some bad behavior.
    4. Islam teaches us to control our desires and leave our passions, they can bring us away from the right path. Music doesn't help to control our desires but often it put our desires out.
    5. Music made for glorify Allah SWT is ammitted indeed a lot of amazing nasheed have been created .
    Jazak'Allah khayran .

    Assalamwakum, Listening to and
performing music is mubaah due to the hadith of Ibn Umar when he listened to
the shepards flute while he was traveling with the Messenger of Allah (saw).
"Nafi reports that when the Messenger (saw) heard the sound of a
shepherd’s flute, he thrust his fingers into his ears and then asked: ‘Can you
still hear it Ibn ‘Umar?’ He continued moving ahead until Ibn ‘Umar said: I
can’t hear it, so he (saw) took his fingers out of his ears.’ Thus, the
Messenger (saw) did not forbid the shepard or rebuke him and nor did he forbid
Ibn Umar from listening. However this permissible action may become Haraam if
it falls within two principles: ‘If any aspect of a permitted thing leads to a
harm then that aspect is prohibited, but the thing remains permitted’. And ‘The
means to a Haraam is itself Haraam.’ The likelihood of leading to Haram is
sufficient here. If music incites the instincts like most Arab music does or it
is accompanied by dancing or when mixing takes place in musical events. Then
the music in this case becomes Haraam. This is because the incitement of the
instincts in most cases, especially when there is an interest in music, leads
to Haraam. This is besides dancing and mixing is Haraam. Allahoalam

If the goal is to bring glory and praise to God, then music is allowed, The book of Psalms is a collection of songs, King David wrote much of it, and played instruments,
The bible mentions that we should sing to God with joyous hearts, and through music.
Worshipping and praising God is not a somber empty dead ritual, but a happy joyous, heartfelt gratitude for all He has done for us, through His son Jesus Christ.

What if the women themselves want to exhibit themselves? This is such a fearful philosophy as well as cynical. It also asks people to be responsible in strange ways. The onus is on the people who see the dancing and the singing to behave themselves, not on the singers and dancers to hide. If you take away basic human venues for happiness, you're not creating spiritual or philosophical enlightening, you're creating frustration that will result from strict puritanism.

this demonstration gives me some reflection. god have give you also ears to hear and have created the rythm and the waves and put is golden number in the music system. because music it's a part of mathematics.it's attested that the practice of instrument make the musician more powerful than the others people. all physical make sound and heat. sound is a part of the world. Language, speech words are humans sounds. And only the greatest know perfectly all those languages of the universe. Arabic people are poets, they are diplomate, they have a great ability to keep the rythm and to be constant, they have a great sense of music so why could this forbidden for them?. The question of the music in islam is really difficult. It can be an object of conflict. But music in itself is not a problem. In fact there is no rationnel reason for this, or a consensus clear. You didn't said music is forbidden you said that daff is allowed, you didn't say singing is bad, it was about the words. Some people told me it's forbidden because it can keep you far from your religious practice. so if you want also this argument to yours, you can, i won't say , how this guy is a thief. this summer i was in morocco, i have meet some young gnawa people, they were dancing and singing song about our Muhammad and Allah. Their Faith and their love for the creator was really sincere, and people was happy to give them something. When you switch from society, it's really hard to understand why some ideas are more or less accepted. Why this part of the human knowledge is so differently understood at a time or at a place. It is also understandable that your speech reinforces an already acquired audience, but it can take many people away from the path that Allah has only revealed to the prophets. As much as possible I invite you to study music to listen to it, you will see that it can not be as unlawful as some exegeses claim. On the contrary, it is a blessing that teaches us to listen better to others, the world. it certainly does not answer the questions of men, but as religion it must bring men together. And that's what it's about ... are wars a cause of religion? no, but we did it in his name. can music kill? no, but she also accompanies the soldiers. So at the end i didn't feel more advanced with the question.

Good explanation. However, just to add, in some cultures, music and dance are an integral part of worship. Hinduism and Sufism surely integrate worship into music. I think there is a divergence of openion between Muslim Scolars regarding listening and paying the musical instruments, some SCOLARS in Islam dont see any harm in listening to pure music like Mosar, bethoven, extra, even Music with singing is allowed in islam as long as the singing is not about drugs, alchool, sex, violence or any singing which go against the teaching if Islamic shariaa., also there is another condition to this permission is that listening to music should NOT make you forget your duties towards Allah and remembering him, like if you are busy listening to music all day long ( some work places ike warehouses factories, coffee shops, retailerss ) they play music and songs and songs all day long and everyday, and you forget about prayers time or remembring Allah an listening - reading Quran, in that situation this music and singing become a form of worship and replace the quran and makes you forget about Allah, in this situation this abuse of listening to music and songs becomes haram.. It is NOT the good music and the good singing which are Haram, but it is what type of music we listen to and the way we listen to it in our daily and social life, these factors can effect the good music and it beomes haram in islam.
same thing about dancing, families are allowed in islam to enjoy music, singing and dancing, no harm in that in Islam as long as we do it according to islamic laws.
Unforunately, there are few scholars in isalam are quit old fashion and very hard on their views
about music and singing and they put lof restrictions and haram about many things without having a solid prouf from the Quran and the teaching of prophet Muhamed Peace be upon him.

Heh, RIGHT, so why music and dancing aren't still prohibited in islamic countries? There are many muslim musicians. What's the point here? Don't they believe in harmness of music & dancing to the society?

Brother please listen all these videos. And in place of music you hear Quran recitation it will definitely relax and calm your mind. Music is totally prohibited in Islam , music is a weapon of shyateen. I hope you understand.

@@amanmahmood1316 well I do not agree, on Balkan we have ilahije (islamic songs) and there are some musicians that do not inspire haram (like imagine dragons...), also there is no place in Quran that prohibits music... Dancing is stupid, but music helps me study, workout ect.

I am really glad to see this because it shows some attitudes that are common in Islam that many in the West do not realize. Singing, dancing are frequently seen as problem, notice the audience is mostly men and there is a women section. These are not "extreme" views. This is mainstream Islam.

My friend worked in war zones across the globe with the UN, Medicin Sans Frontiers and various other organisations. He said in each desperately tragic place, people found happiness and community through music and dance, except one place. The one place that he said was the most miserably awful, soulless and depressing place was Darfur. The people were strictly forbidden to sing and dance. They had nothing to connect their community except misery. He refers to it as the most miserable place he ever experienced. Shame on any culture that supresses a fundamental tool of actual human civilisation.

How about the songs like 25 rasul,10 malaikat,Allah made everything and tala al badru alayna songs? These are song and are bringing us closer to Allah right? I normally memorise the prophets and angels by using songs in this list. I am just a kid and curious.
