- 2009年拍摄, 23分钟, 影像敍述當今古巴加斯特羅政杈下的华侨生活, 從1959年前的200,000华人到现在的90多个老侨, 移民断層, 生活困难。以前古巴有小巴黎之稱, 文化生活𤌴烂, 华區有4个報社和4个劇團。 何秋兰, Caridad Amaran 是个孤儿, 2嵗時為武打生方標先生在街上檢養, 並教她唱粤劇, 8嵗登台, 在古巴有唐人生活的地方表演, 现在已82嵗, 每天都在家唱, 她要回廣東開平石塘里 方氏燈樓祖墓, 待她養父祭祖。
我記得這位何秋蘭, 早10多前曾來開平塘口鎮尋根, 她爸爸的村子在我家鄉隔壁的村, 她在方氏燈樓下唱粵劇. 當時很多鄉里都在網上傳照片.
我是在2011年筹到钱带她回石塘里的。😀
@@pokchilau8078 哦哦, 原來就是你這位熱心人幫到她呀. 當時很轟動, 不過沒記得具體時間, 感覺好久了. 我在另一個關於古巴的訪探中看到公所地庫下面那一牆的簡易骨盒, 很震撼也很為那些沒家沒錢孤獨在他鄉終老,落葉不能歸根的古巴華僑感到悲涼. 不知道有沒有組織能幫忙將他們運回他們的家鄉安葬呢.

好感觸，我太婆都係南美西班牙裔，我太公係新會人。但我地班後代好幸運，出生於中國人嘅地方-香港！雖然我阿嫲都係混血，但佢一直都話自己係中國人，仲自細就教育我地係中國人。佢話只有中國強大，我地作為華人先有好生活，唔係嘅話就好似以前華人一樣周圍漂泊！

曾祖父弟弟大概一百年前從台山去到古巴，家書勸曾祖父不要讓子侄出洋 “你時常思想打打發各人出洋，我實經流落幾十年不得返，你明白了”，最後孓然一身病逝於古巴夏灣。

From my experience, I find that a lot of oversea Chinese are prouder of their Chinese heritage than mainland Chinese and Hong Kongers.
The communist in Mainland China has totally ruined the chinese heritage.Hong Kongers developed their own unique identity since the 1960's.

Better yet go asked, Fion Ho Yee-king, 27 years old with her BNO passport. Fion Ho, a talented graduate with a Master Degree committed suicide because she was starving in Britain.

以前很多去海外谋生的华人都湮没在历史中了，只有极少数能真的赚到钱。我也是五邑人，我们家族的祖坟有个衣冠冢，听说是我爷爷的兄弟（还是太爷爷的兄弟？记不清了），偷渡去外国，结果音讯全无，后来只好立了个衣冠冢。唉，好感慨。
何秋蘭，you can go to Utube and download the Chinese opera movies, and you can learn singing from there too. The best are 任劍輝，白雪仙，and my most respect chinese opera star is 林家聲。 Unfortunately they are not in this world！ But I am still practice and singing every now and then.

Rj Leslee, Nice to know that you like Chinese opera, I have met Mr. Lam in person a few year back in University of Toronto in Canada. Actually his son went to the same junior school as I did in Hong Kong in the 1966.

Although I dont understand what it is all about or what the actors are saying/singing, I still find it fascinating to watch; the elaborate costumes, facial and body language, the dramatic music etc. Chinese opera is a unique artistic culture that should be preserved.

Thank you for documenting the fascinating life and history the ethnic Chinese community in Cuba. I think we Chinese people have an incredible history in Latin America. Years ago, I was on vacation in Puerto Rico and talked with a Cantonese speaking restaurant owner in San Juan...he said that his family migrated to Puerto Rico from Havana, perhaps in the 1950's...Nowadays, I visit Mexico often for business...I discovered that there are active but very established Cantonese speaking communities in many of the major (and maybe even some not-so-major) Mexican cities...Of course, there are also Mandarin speaking Chinese business people and students in Mexico...but in general, I am more interested in these old Cantonese speaking communities as one can often find, in those Cantonese/Toyshan communities, fascinating history of the Chinese immigration dating back to the 19th century!
Its heart breaking to see all these Cuban chinese loosing their connection with other chinese around the world.. They are really been forsaken. Made it known to the world. Help them. Especially the Rich chinese. Common...
Gary Lau they moved to a too remote area, too far from Asia. The cultures are completely different in Americas and Asia
Perhaps they are more Latino than Chinese. Many look Latino even.

Mayelin Morales It would help if you know the last name of your ancestor, and how it is spelt in English/Spanish is very important as well. If he/she had join or is associated with one of the clubs/associations, that would help as well. Probably Cantonese so Hong Kong would be your gateway.
