I fed crimped maize out of ag bags for 3 yrs, back in 2007/8. Excellent stuff for milk cows, but rats plagued the bags the last winter, so the owner decided to stop it, plus the ag bag was expensive.
It certainly makes the cows happy, and most likely, much cheaper than feeding more Cake. We feed up to 4,5 kg snaplage ourselves at the moment. Also great feed. This year we stored it in Agbags for easy handling.
Yes, it s possible to do the same with grain, the wet grain is treated with proprion acid and valsed/crimped before carefully stacked/compressed to avoid loss, here it s not so much used as maybe in the UK, at least not yet, if it is treated both ways it s called hybrid method conservation, once I had some grain in a silo that didn t smell good because it had been harvested too wet, and there were also some peas in the bottom, I sold it to a cow farmer that treated it with soda/a strong soap, this kills the mold and the smell is improved and smells like silage and the cows like it like dessert.

Always interesting to hear what rations the cows get fed , by your comments im guessing the yield has gone up since starting to feed the maize 🤔
