  • The Citroen C3 has bucketloads of personality and is softer than flat earth science. But you also have to overlook some big compromises to really enjoy it.
    Our Mark takes you through it.

    I like that Citroen are doing things a bit differently. A lot of journalists are stuck like broken records on "but the Skoda/VW/Audi..." and pointing out that VAG do German cars better than X brand. Citroen give a gallic shrug and say "did we say we wanted to be German?" and make a French car instead. This works because many drivers value the ability to float up the M1 in comfort over suspension that saves as much as 2 seconds on a lap of the nurburgring in exchange for overly harsh ride quality.

    The most underestimated car reviewer on the market. Mark, every time you make my day better. I even decided to let some sun in into my home office cave because of Shhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine.

    With only 11k subscribers millions of people are missing out on the most honest Journo reviewers anywhere. Carwow should use you for the 5 annoying things. I tend to ignore the glossy colour sections ( same as all the others, lovely fantastic really good )and take note of the monochrome parts where the real "it's crap" parts are explained. Great job you should get some sort of youtube award for being honest about what the poor punters are going to get after saving up for 10 years to get a new car.

    im huge fan of your reviews and you are only one left on internet which says actual opinion about the car (sometimes even exact recommendation what you would choose). annndd i have to say that watching this review i felt that you trying to manouver it in correct way, that this is a different car, and yes it does have its flaws, but it still has its costumer. Thank you for your effort creating such masterpiece content, which always leave positive feeling on time spent watching video. 🙏🤙

    You could have done a review of the old Pug 208 (it's sister car) and it would have been the same ie not made for UK roads. We have a 208 and I hate driving it down back roads, absolutely fine in city or on motorway

    The upwards angle of the seat is deliberate, it is known as "anti-submarining" it a crash the lower half of the torso (the hips and pelvis ) can slide forward under the seat belt towards the steering column and receive injuries, the angle of the seat is a measure to restrain the pelvis and hips from unwanted movement

    It's strange because I had one as a courtesy car and found the clutch, gears and seating position great and the engine was so much more responsive than my Auris.
    I'm very tempted to buy one.

    Just had a French-market rental C3 for a week. Found the 6-sp manual shifter sloppy, with huge throws, but it was the clutch pedal that really annoyed me--looong travel, short engagement zone, zero feel. The sat-nav was quite slow to boot up, during which you can't change the climate control settings. It also didn't have Apple CarPlay. Everything else about the car was "OK", but whatever the asking price, instead of buying the C3 new, I'd rather have a used car that was a little better sorted.

    Unic car, bravo citroen c3.

  • @stephandolby
    @stephandolby Před 3 lety

    The C3 does feel a bit last-gen to me; an EAT6 gearbox (which ruins your joke), the same manual five-speed gear stick from my 2012 208, a single USB port, and I think even the engine is a previous version (the 208 gets 75/100/130), so it does feel a bit like raiding the old parts bin. On the other hand, this does mean it'll be cheaper than most of its competitors...

      I don’t think you can compare Thomas to Mark totally different style and whilst maybe a ruler could help with innuendos about inches, I’m not sure Mark could put a thin twist on preaching vegan ideals, on thinly veiled hypocrisy over leather seating being in environmental bad whilst driving a petrol car but then you never know challenge for you Mark

    Saw it anonimously on another device so came back here just for giving the thumbs-up and complaining, that Ted Cruze should not be mentioned of having anything under control, be it only speed!

    What's even more quirky than the cars Citroen make are the dealerships. They all have a "kids area" which is some sad-looking beanbag chairs and a TV that is always showing daytime Channel 5 content. Even more odd are the Citroen dealerships that have been converted into Citroen-DS combination mystery zones, because you'll wall ten feet from the white-walls-on-IKEA-rugs and straight into an airport lounge where you're the only person to set foot inside of it in the past two weeks, because people want a DS even less than they would want a modern Citroen.

    not talking about being all plastic, but the vents buttons to open and close? They break easily.
