I just found out about this videot today, and spent the rest of the day watching Patrice Guers solo videos lol..... I saw him live last night in Houston and I gotta say he does magic with that bass.... it was fricking amazing!!!

No that's not a capo ! It's a rubber thing, the kind of things you use to tie your hair. Anyway, he's putting it on the first fret for a very specific reason, to remove the harmonic ringing from the strings when he's tapping. That way you don't really have to worry about strings when you release your fingers from them, it also prevent "sympathetic ringing"
@Celtalian it's almost impossible to play with 4 fingers. you have to move the whole hand which will actually make you slower than if you use 3 fingers, and in some cases even when you use 2 fingers. try it out and you'll see. everyone moves their pinky finger when they play with 3 fingers, that's also a impossiblity to don't do. anyway, hope that helped. cheers! hi guys i started using my fingers instead of plectrum for bass and i was wondering something about high speed stuff. at 0:18, is he using 3 fingers or 4 fingers (his pinky too)?
i see his pinky moves at the same time as his ring finger so it must be 3 fingers only. i guess i was doing it correctly afterall. im just not that fast yet. FAST!
