I still couldn’t believe this movie was made almost 19 years ago. This movie is still relevant and youngsters will be able to connect to it even in today’s time.

@AK 47 no it was way ahead of its time. the way it was filmed, the way songs were picturized, framing/staging & blocking of the scenes. there was nothing like it back then in indian film cinema so yes it was quite ahead of its time for the cinema even if metro & sobo kids existed outside of a general audience going persons bubble. don't be a contrarian on the internet to be cool either.

they belonged to rich urban areas families in the movie. The fathers of both Saif and Aamir were established businessmen in the movie. Having this kind of interiors in such people's homes was a normal thing even 25-30 years ago buddy.

Farhan thoughts were ahead of time... Amoung the three the most innocent was saifs character...
Sid was more down-to-earth and simple though.
Akash was obviously more bratty than them put together.

Movie was way ahead of his time. When i saw it first 18 years ago on DVD i didn't like it because at that time fighting movies was ruling the bollywood. But with maturity and time it is now my fav movie of hindi cinema.

This movie is so ahead of its time that even if you watch it now if feels like it was made this year itself. From the way each and every scene was framed and shot. The cast was impeccable. The music was amazing the background score was flawless. This movie has aged like fine wine. One of the Best movies of 2001. Better than Lagaan in some aspects.
Lagaan and DCH released within a month of each other. Both were amazing, and so different in themes that they can't really be compared. And Bhuvan and Akash never felt like the same actor. I found Lagaan brilliant and moving, but personally could connect more with DCH as I was in college myself at that time.
Growing up in the 80s anyone remember s the timeless classic... Chashme Bhadoor.... Farooq Sheikh and Deepti naval...directed by Sai Paranjape...u can relate to it more...Sai one indias best director...a woman how well she captured the three bachelor s lives ....its still so refreshing watching it ....

Remember going to see this in a NYC theater and had no idea what I was about to see. I was blown away at the entire look and feel of it. It was refreshing and had a real feel. I think it was the first time they were using real time sync sound. It was a Game changer indeed! It did for movies, what DDLJ did for romance movies. Bravo!

This movie was a true game changer from all the actors involved especially Aamir's perfectionism.
He showed everyone at that time, how acting should be done with his sublime performances.
He set the bar so high that it hasn't been challenged still to this day. Only one or two can stand toe 2 toe with him in a acting sense. The guy just thinks differently outside the box compared to your usual boring types.
