- Starting November 5, 2012, Canada's National Ballet School will visit cities across Canada hosting auditions for its Professional Ballet Program and will also offer Open Classes.

The path to a life in dance is not a straight one. Each year over 1,000 dancers audition for the school but only 50 will be invited to join the Professional Ballet Program. While we cannot accept everyone, we are always honoured by the young dancers who come to an audition and share their passion with us. Part of our dream is that every dancer find a place where they can thrive and grow as artists.
For those of you who are upset because you auditioned but didn't get accepted. I wasted my entire life doing stupid jobs that I hated, never even got a chance to try something like this. I'm a smaller built guy and probably could've at least tried something like this while I was yet young. When I watch videos like this I am in total awe and you can rest assured that you have my respect whether you made it or not. Now I'm too old for anything but dreams. 🕺❤😊

I agree with JVSDance... I auditioned for NBS 8 times already and nobody in all 8 auditions got in either, I guess its time for me to stop auditioning.... this year was my last.
Male dancers will be able to perform better whatever sport they choose; basketball, football, baseball, track, martial arts, boxing, wrestling, Olympics. Male dancers have remarkable flexibility. They can escape out of physical holds, jump high in basketball, avoid incoming objects, hits, and kicks to the body, tight rope across a building, and slip out of handcuffs. It will take time for a male to reach these goals. Take care and Be safe.
