The Reverend Solomon Burke (R.I.P. 2010), one the the best soul singers who ever lived. He had a LOT of children, he first became a father at the age of 14!!. He had quite a life. He was performing right up to the end. Apparently, he suffered a fatal heart attack while on his way to a gig.
Ooh I loved dancing to this song when I was a kid, in a slow shuffling strut and a little wiggle, like you're approaching them gently, respectfully, yet flirty with a look over here baby. 😅💝 So many great songs from this era, my personal favourite is Otis Redding and anything he sings like cigarettes and coffee or his classic dock of the bay.
His later stuff is just as good. I got to see to him twice before he passed away. He opened for Van Morrison, and I have to say…..he blew away Van that night.
