  • Hey folks, today its a review on the J7W1 Shinden. This plane is not particularly impressive stock, but spaded it really gets into its stride especially at high altitude, featuring savage guns and great performance. Hope you enjoy!

    X-ray view- it's basically all fuel tanks + it's Japanese + it only has 60 rounds per cannon = I'd last 2 minutes max in this plane.
    Think I'll leave this one for the big boys.

      Fair enough! It’s a great plane but if it ain’t your cup of tea that’s no issue!

    Joe thanks for this replay. I believe Japan only made 2 of these so it was great to see you fly this. Have you also done a review on the Kikka jet fighter? If so Id like to hear what you think of it vs the ME262.

      I dont do reviews on Jets sadly. Jets are far more P2W than props are, and i came to War Thunder to fly Props, not Jets. Sorry for the disappointment there.
      As far as i know the Kikka is better than the 262 in most areas since it has engines that never existed

      From what I understood, the engines were developed but never actually put into the airframe. The engines they put into the prototype airframe were so shit they needed booster rockets to even get airborne due to lack of power. And even then, the Ne-20-kai engines only generate around 5,59 kN of thrust.

    I’m surprised the Shinden was able to pull 500 mph and not redline at all. How were the control surfaces?
    Also I’m surprised you chose the J5N as one the best. I haven’t flown it, but I don’t hear much of it

    • @Joseph-2000

      The rudder barely responds at those speeds, the ailerons are kinda bad and the elevators are sufficient to pull it out of a dive but thats about it.
      As for the J5N1? Its a great bird, just i dont see many playing it. Here is my spade review on it: czcams.com/video/9xn3-MuobE0/video.html

      Its good, just take the time to side climb, and get altitude. And as you can see, its great!

      Indeed! i think its one of if not the only plane in the game with a 6 bladed prop (Not including Contra-rotating)

    Not a big fan of this aircraft. It's climb is stock kinda dissapointing and facing jets isn't really great. Battles happen rarely at these high altitude so this advantage doesn't really come often into account. Though a dead mk24 spitfire is a good mk24 spitfire.

    • @Joseph-2000
      @Joseph-2000  Před 4 lety +1

      Its a good bird, but it really needs a pilot to understand what it can and cant do. Fighting Jets can be tough, but it can work. The guns can work excellently, but its about learning the lead. Its a very skill dependant plane imo

    • @benni1015
      @benni1015 Před 4 lety +1

      @@Joseph-2000 Well, yeah, but the stock grind is really terrible and sideclimbing doesn't grant you being above mk 24s, and if you have one on your tail it usually is over. Though you are generally right i guess. Good plane, doesn't forgive many mistakes.
