Your going to be surprised...lol...it's super crowded and hot... you'll spent all your time in a bar or at home with the A/C cranked up...all year...you can't even open up the windows for fresh air...it is a great place for married couples...not much of a night life...hard to meet people when everyone is retired and married...Bars and Restaurants are all there is to do...but people move here to impress their friends...

One thing they do not mention is the ungodly traffic. Lunch at St Armands isn't so pleasant when it's like rush hour in a big city going around the circle.
Yes and no parking. The restaurants are terrible and expensive. $50 for breakfast for 2!

Your friends hate her and she has no personality and she has a drug and alcohol addiction...she cheats on you and spends all your money.

@@wherenexttravel I live in east Bradenton now. University Parkway ended at I-75 and Lakewood Ranch didn't exist when I moved here in 1987. The only high-risers in town were the big glass building and the 888 and 988 Condos. Yeah, things have changed.

@@NoOne-sl2dd Define super rich. I have lived here for 36 years and have never had a pot to piss in. You just need to figure out a way to make it work. We half cup full folks tend to figure it out and cup half empty folk look for excuses.

downtown sarasota is where night life goes to die.
As a young family we are not here for the nightlife. We enjoy the beaches and it’s many great restaurants 😀. Enjoy your weekend.

I wanna to move to Florida end about 1 year or so , I’m looking for the best place and affordable, I’m from Oregon
Your best to contact a local realtor who can help you with your questions. Lots of lovely areas here in Sarasota, but much will depend on your budget and things you like to see and do.
Warning....it's flat...highest elevation is 350...Florida is a sand bar at sea level...so it's hot...and very humid...after a while people sit inside with the A/C running...too crowded and too hot and humid...to go anywhere....

Lived here 20 years, everyone I know has at least one rental house. They are making tons of money. Way better than the stock market!

Yup they’re making a tons of money at the cost of residents not being able to afford their own home so we’re forced to rent at these excessive prices.
Sarasota is now for the super rich and average people will not be able to enjoy it.

Everyone I work with including me wants to get out of here and move to NC....lol...too hot and very very crowded...and flat...you have to drive 350 miles to see a hill....lol...
I hate the cold and snow.
@@JJ-rf7dg Florida can be a little extreme or an overkill to escape the cold...you'll find yourself stuck inside with the A/C running for 8 or 9 months...
@@JJ-rf7dg also...sweating...stinky sweat dripping on your furniture...stinking up your car...having to shower 2 times a day...doing laundry all the time...

@@Relaxation-Clips downtown is quiet at night. We had yearly bike meets of some sort but the residents have voted them out and they are held in Venice or maybe it has changed, but in general, I wish more events were happening and there was more activities or places for the younger crowd than bars and food
Yes...exactly...it's the same thing every day...Bars and Restaurants...and almost everyone is a retired married couple...not exaggerating at all...definitely not a place for single people...once you've seen the beach and seen the museums...it's time to move on...most people drove to Tampa for excitement...but that's a drive just to get a few beers...boredom is a very common complaint...Sarasota seems man made...fake...plastic...a lot of my friends are encouraging their kids to leave Florida because there's really nothing here but beaches and bars...
I lived there and I didn't think it was boring. I was always in nature when I lived there. Always beach parks or eating the good Amish food.
Sarasota is nothing like Hallandale Beach Fl that's why left there nothing really to do.

It's ok to vacation here but don't move here. YIU will be spit on, treated rudely and have your tires slashed. My friend had a cup of coffee thrown on her chest. The people here resent ppl moving into their paradise...turning into a California nightmare. You won't find jobs and the neighbors won't like you.
