    For the people who say that Tommy Hearns was too old when he fought Barkley should really check their research. Hearns was born in 1958. Barkley was born in 1960. It's only 2 years a difference.

    • @davestuddaman8127
      @davestuddaman8127 Před 7 lety +5

      Pretty sure Barkley started later in life then Hearns. Hearns had had wars by the time he got to Barkley

    • @ramiroguerrero8413
      @ramiroguerrero8413 Před 7 lety +4

      But Hearns beat Leonard in their rematch and it was after he got knocked out by Barkley. So Hearns obviously still had enough in the tank.

      @davestuddaman8127 Před 7 lety +3

      No sayin Tommy wasnt capable. But he'd been boxing for at least 20 years by the time the Barkley fights occurred. No doubt he'd have some wear n tear

    • @markg8382
      @markg8382 Před 5 lety +1

      yeah but Hearns fought tough competition since 1980 before Barkley turned professional. You should do some research.

    I've always said that no one fighter can beat everyone. No mater how good you are, you have a weakness that could be exposed by the least suspecting opponent.

    Amateur World Championship bronze medalist.he could move and box as well aa the power,pressure,heart, brawling and intimidation he became famous for. What a career 2 wins over Hearns,Olajide,Kinchen and arguably he beat Duran too...also took on Michael Nunn at his red hot prime and pushed him very close

    Demolished in 1 round by nigel Benn. At least he had the bottle to fight benn as the rest didn't want to know. Hate yanks moaning when they get beat. Benn was never beaten by a yank. He destroyed them all. Barcklay. De witt. Sims. Then Mclelland. A true British hero. 🇬🇧🇬🇧

    I love BArkley but he is not honest. He should give the most credit to Benn who knocked him out in one round. Duran? Hearns knocked him out in 2 in an easy fight. Hearns beat Benitez who beat Duran easily. Hearns gave Ray a great fight who made Duran quit.

      48 year old UK bloke here!
      I loved Benn , exciting to watch but flawed. I was in the RAF at this time.
      I must agree with you though, Benn hit Barkley when he was down twice, the first time , arguably , you could say Benn thought he bounced of the bottom rope and was still standing, and in the exciting , explosive round I'd give the benefit of the first one to that. However the second, was blatant and dangerous, Barkley had taken a knee, and was suckered right behind the left ear. Disqualification should have happened, I know not why. Maybe it was in the US, and........... No, no excuses. DQ.
