  • John Deere 9R 640 Tractor pulling an Unverferth Zone Builder | Ripping the Fields
    In this video I am out in a harvested soybean field in Northwest Ohio with a John Deere 9R 640 tractor on LSW Tires pulling a 12 shank Unverferth Zone Builder. The are ripping the field around 12-14 inches deep fracturing the hard pan below.
    This farm was also running one of their Case IH 620 Quad Track tractors down the road pulling another 12 shank ripper and I'll have that in a future video.

    It's impressive to see the John Deere 9R 640 Tractor in action, especially when paired with the Unverferth Zone Builder for field ripping! This combination seems like a powerhouse in agricultural machinery. I'm curious about the specific advantages this setup provides in terms of soil preparation and overall efficiency. Also, how does using a machine like the 9R 640 impact the long-term health of the soil? It's amazing to witness such advanced machinery contributing to agricultural productivity!

    I would say that the tractor had almost perfect grip and traction. Possibly if the ground was harder on top the tractor would loose traction and spin the wheels and come to a standstill. Looked like he was able to maintain a constant depths well.

    Thanks for the content Mike. 12 shank inline ripper is a heck of a load. Can't imagine how hard it pulls on headlands and feild approaches. Probably has to fold up the wings on the super tight areas to pull through.

    That is pullin' a lot deeper than 12 or 14. Deep tilling has to be run closer to 18 or 20 or you are just running above the compaction layer

    They looks nice on this LSW 1400 but I think it’s better ( less ) compaction on dually 2x 710 tires. Pressure to the ground it’s one wider area .

      @robertogonowski9027 Před 6 měsíci +1

      @@lynwessel2471 That's correct about sq.
      I was try say something different. 710 have ( about 710mm ) + spacer ~ 4" ( about 100mm) . So we have 710+100+710 = 1520mm. Good Year LSW 1400 have 53.5" ( about 1305mm) The compaction it's not only go strait down, they go a bit to the side , so on dully You have wider area for compaction.

    • @farmhandmike
      @farmhandmike  Před 6 měsíci +2
