  • 2024 Toyota Yaris HEV 130 HP has hybrid drivetrain with 1.5l petrol engine (inline-3) + electric. System power: 96 kW (130 HP), FWD, e-CVT. WLTP homologation figures: 3.9 - 4.3 l/100 km combined. I checked Toyota Yaris Hybrid130 HEV 2024 on a trip with mostly city driving, but also on country roads (sub-urban). Finally I achieved on ~28.5 km (~17.7 mi) distance such fuel consumption (economy): 2.8 l/100 km | 84.0 mpg US | 100.9 mpg UK. Time with combustion engine off (EV mode): 49:50 mm:ss out of 60:00 (~83%). See the whole trip review.
    Used tyres: Bridgestone Ecopia EP150 205/45 R17 84W with - unfortunately - bad index of efficiency "D".

The new digital instruments plus the infotainment screen are giving the interior a much more modern and cleaner look in comparison to older models with the small and ugly "block".

Hello, thanks for the videos, really do enjoy them! It’s a waste that I didn’t find your channel earlier, else I would’ve considered a Seat Leon (m-hybrid), am currently on a Nissan Note e-power, one full tank in city + highway to suburb is around 22km/l.
Would you by any chance be able to test the Honda hybrids that are e:Hev?

Dude... 2.8 liters at only 16 degrees outside temperature. I've already thought that if my Corolla Hybrid breaks down at some point, I'll get a Yaris. Even though I'm probably not far off with the consumption of the Corolla. It's always difficult to compare when you've never driven the same route before. Still a really good result!

This is why I call such movies: TRIP. If the presentation takes place near to Barcelona, I have to make test there, if the presentation takes place close to Munich, I have to make there a test. Comparable test are typical fuel consumption review, which are made in similar conditions and on the same roads, like this one: czcams.com/video/vo8wk8tELTg/video.html

Also, if you use the built-in satnav but have Spotify on your phone, how easily can you bring up the Spotify controls without losing the navigation?

It's not bad but not optimal, I had Yaris hybrid and recently switched to the Toyota corolla, Corolla has been just as good in regards of fuel consumption with mixed driving on highways and the city, I never could get the advertised numbers on my Yaris hybrid, on both I'm hitting around 4,5l-5L/100km
But to be fair the yaris hybrid was 2013 maybe they have gotten even better since then.
If I mostly did City driving I would definitely opt in for the Yaris

you must constantly predict when you will need to slow down, so you use as much as possible regenerative braking. Also you must accellerate within ECO range. I can confirm, by driving C-HR hybrid, that such low consumption is achievable

you have two fuel range meters, one on the left and right, the one the lefts starts at 588km and ends the trip with 616km and the right starts with 638km and ends the trip with 619km, what does it mean?
according with your l/kmh consumption and the 36l capacity of the tank you would have1285km range which nearly matches those numbers.
I want to add that your consumption figures will be always 1, 2 or 3 tenths worse because you start downhill, to make a fair assessment you would need to end up where you started.
Consumption figures will be always better if you start the trip 200 m above sea level and end at 50m.

    • @1001cars
      @1001cars  Před 4 měsíci +4

On the left side you have ODO meter, on the right side fuel range.
I think I started uphill, the consumption after 1 km is still more than 6 l/100 km. I finished the trip in almost the same place where I started. There was a 200, maybe 300 meters distance between them. Also, I was on the same roundabout :)
