"Just the Way You Are" is a song by Billy Joel and the third track from his 1977 album, The Stranger. It was Joel's first US Top 10 (reaching #3) and UK Top 20 single, as well as Joel's first gold single in the US. "Just the Way You Are", which won the 1979 Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Song of the Year, turned Joel's chart career, which had largely stalled out by early 1975, into long-lasting success. "Just The Way You Are" also coincidentally tied another of his #3 hits, his last US Top 10 single, "The River of Dreams", for most weeks on the Hot 100 of any of his singles, at 27.

That was an excellent rendition of this Joel’s classic. As a bassist myself I must admit that what first caught my attention other it being a great song was that saxophone solo. Your video was the first one I seen to bring the bass line to be the focus. I tell there’s no better era of music like the 60’s-80’s. Thanks for sharing.

Hello All. Coming back to lifting a bass after about 45 years, I was so pleased to see and hear your work - you are a superb player, and one I want to use as my yardstick for success (not that I will reach your level in a month of Sundays). I had one problem with this song though. As a brass band player, I read music no problem, but I couldn't get your score to fit with the version I was trying to play along with. Took a while for the penny to drop that the version I was listening to was the "Radio Edit" which has a huge chunk missing from the one you have here. DoHHHH!!! Keep up the good work Constantine, you are the man!
