    Best hitch made IMHO. Light bars that have good spring to them it really does the trick for me when it comes to weight distribution and sway control. Set it up right and don’t drive like a fool!

    This is a great video, very complete. As I get ready to tow and travel for the first time my question is, what happens when you have a 1,000 pound load in the truck? Do you have to go through the leveling process again? Clearly the load will cause a dip in the level of where "perfectly level" load is, I am curious if this becomes an ongoing issue?

    Great job. Great explanation!!
    One thing for newbies. When unhitching always chock the wheels first!!! I feel like they glossed over this in this video.

    I absoutely love our BO Sway Pro. My only minor complaint was the small/hazardous wrench that came with mine. I use breaker bar with a socket anyway. A quick tip if you misplace the wrench... block about 6" under the jack and get the rear tires right off the ground (chock fronts and use parking brake). Once you take that entire load off the bars, you can remove bats/chains or put them on with bare hands. I've done it many times - actually about 3hrs ago to show it can be done safely. 1000lb bars with 30ft TT.

    Question: If I connect the 10 or 11 chain link instead of the recommended 9 chain link,, does it take additional weight off the rear axle of the tow vehicle and distribute more of the weight to the trailer axles?

      Yes more pressure on the front of the tow vehicle and trailer. But you also put more stress on the trailer frame it’s a trade off. Blue Ox may correct me if I have misspoken.

    does this work for overslung and underslung hitches?

    You said to disengage air ride suspension when first setting up the hitch. At what point do you re-engage it?

    should the safety brake cable be shorter than the chains so that the brakes would activate if trailer came off?

    • @adampoconnor
      @adampoconnor Před rokem

      The chains will be short enough that the trailer connector won't fall out of the vehicle, so the brakes will still work from the tow vehicle. The breakaway cable is the last defense for if the trailer completely departs the tow vehicle. If the trailer brakes activated fully while still somewhat attached to the tow vehicle via chains, the tow vehicle is more likely to lose control and crash.

    I have this Blue Ox but I haul a 31 ft toy hauler with 2 Harleys. I was not happy with the amount of sway. Trailer was all over the place. So with the added weight in the rear of the RV what adjustments should I make to Blue Ox?

      Hi Brent, have you tried reaching out to our Customer Care Department? They can help you assess your issue.

      I have the same issue with my trailer. I honestly started to think that the Blue Ox was not a sway control hitch. I am considering going to the Weigh Safe hitch as I have had good luck with them. Have you had any luck with the Blue Ox or did you choose another option?

    Anyone else having trouble torquing the bolts to 250ft/lbs? I have a torque wrench that goes that high, but I can't get past 160ft/lbs. even with a breaker bar!

    • @Pawildsbigfootedition
      @Pawildsbigfootedition Před rokem +2

      Put the bolts In through the right side so you push down not pull up. Much easier but 250 sounds high for a grade 5 3/4 bolt I would think 200?

      @@Pawildsbigfootedition talked to Blue Ox and they confirmed that they dropped it from 257 to 250. I ended up buying a pipe to extend my breaker bar & get more leverage and that did the trick.
