True! We need to get as angry over one innocent person killed as we do about multiple. It was two years ago the world got angry and protested over George Floyd. Maybe there needs to be a mass movement for the people killed in Uvalde? I don't know the answer, but inaction will result in this happening again.

The REAL solution is for society to take a stand against wokeism and liberal indoctrination of children. All these school shooters have one thing in common: they come from generations of kids who WERE “educated” within the past 30-50 years of liberal social engineering, as opposed to PREVIOUS generations who WEREN’T, yet these massacres DIDN’T exist, even though these weapons WERE just as accessible. The guns issue is yet another DISTRACTION to get everyone not to notice that THAT is the real variable that has changed.

Kenny was also correct. Mental health is in serious crisis in this country. It has been for a long time now and we're seeing the results of when sick ppl don't get the help that they need.
While we try to figure out the answer to that legitimate question, we should also immediately make more difficult for kids that young, to get a hold of such a destructive weapon. That is a quick measure that would buy us some time in resolving the mental health issues. The problem is GOP does not want to do SHIT.

When I was a kid, I sat at school sometimes thinking: "Someone with bad intentions could walk through those doors and start shooting us if they wanted to because there's no real security here and we're vulnerable," but I always rationalized those thoughts with: "Yeah, but who wants to shoot us? We're just kids, what have we done to anybody?"
Now...I know that anyone could be a target...anywhere, any time.
Children have always been killed. This has always happened. What is different is that it is so easy to get a gun now. We didn't used to make as many guns as we do now. The guns we used to make suck compared to guns today, and people on average were poorer and would only buy them if absolutely necessary or if they had a good amount of money to spend PLUS a gun shop nearby. Now there is one or tens or a hundred gun shops in any town or city where it is legal. All the guns that are obtained illegally were at one point built and sold legally. There is no illegal gun manufacturer (unless you count 3d printed, but those guns, again, absolutely suck). We decide every day to allow these weapons to be made and sold with very few limits. There will always be imperfect and fucked up people willing to use them for harming others, so the only option we have is to limit their proliferation.

Being a parent it definitely is on my mind a lot I went to the school that was right outside the projects and we never had anything like this. Because of social media it seems like our children have been hit with mental health issues early on as a parent trying to talk to my kid as someone that has had depression suffering from ADHD all my life I try to tell my kids it's okay to talk about these things and they're even like put off by talking about it. Mental health and needing to talk to somebody isn't something to be ashamed of. And if anybody's out there that does read this and you are having a tough time don't give up you do matter

I love these guys, all 4 of them. They have a always been class acts handling these real and tragic events with such grace and class. My deepest deepest condolences to families that lost someone, be a child or one of the two teachers slain. This hit home as I just moved to TX from VA two years ago and I have children 6, 7 and 14 years old and my wife is a teacher.

As a parent and former secondary educator myself the public schools have changed within the last fifteen years.
Back in the 70's and 80's when I attended school we just had basic fire drills.
Now, students have lockdown and mock drills in case of a potential shooting incident. Class room doors are required to be locked from the inside at all times.
As parents and grandparents, we need to be aware and be vigilant.
As a community, we need to be proactive and engage with other like minded people to provide a safe environment and best resources for our youth.

Hell this is one the reasons I don't want kids. I live in poverty I'd have to send them to a not so great school and just that level of stress of "will my kid get shot at school?" is enough for me to say fuck this shit!
Treat schools like a bank. Make it difficult to get beyond the lobby with lock down/ emergency buttons at every front office desk. It's time to establish school safety requirements and provide funding for that purpose.

Just did a career day at a local elementary school here in Atlanta. Such wonderful, amazing, loving 3rd and 4th grade little humans being taught and cared for by the most amazing teachers! Just the thoughts of what were the final moments for those kids in Texas, is more than my heart and mind can bear. For their families and for the survivors, may God have mercy on you all.

@@rdmcabee First of all, what is an assault weapon? It's unfortunate that many politicians use this sad opportunity to further their careers. What do all the shooters have in common, and why isn't anyone interested in addressing those commonalities. Kids are becoming more violent. Teachers often talk about how they are punched and kicked. Our juvenile systems have become a dumping ground for troubled children. According to the parent resource program from the Jason Foundation, suicide is the second leading cause of death for people for youths aged 10-24. In both buffalo and Uvalde, both shooters would have passed their background test because they had no priors. Perhaps it's time for us to start having this discussion instead of blaming other people.

We need more conversations like this. I appreciate Steve Kerr and all the commentary from these men. These shootings are devastating 😢
I remember being in the 3rd & 4th grade. I loved school at that time. I still remember my teachers. This tragedy would have certainly changed my life, my perspective on school and traumatized me greatly. My classmates I would have missed. My friends I will never play with again. Please consider the therapy these children will need, the faculty as well as the families, in your prayers. And don't just say "sending my prayers"; Actually Say A Prayer for these surviving children and the families.
"They got caught in the wrong place, the wrong time - School is never the wrong place" That phrase needs to be repeated over and over until a serious of serious actions are taken. The grocery store is never the wrong place either.
