You need to adjust the default start and end point in the Ladder BP because when you simply drag the ladder into the scene it doesnt work correctly, I tried to adjust the settings to match your example ladders in the demo map but havent managed to get any results close to what you have . How have you set different start points for each ladder despite there being multiple different ones? the start point rotation and positions arent editable without actually going inside the blueprint
Having another issue. I cant change and reassign skeletons or animations, because when i dulpicate a skeleton the skeleton dissapears and I cannot selct a mesh, only happens in this project. Any ideas?
You're doing it incorrectly. You don't need to duplicate the skeleton. Just right click on your mesh and choose assign skeleton.
Hi, first thing I wanted to say is thank you for creating this free and throughout project. I'm a beginner in Unreal, and wanting to learn from it. For now I want to start a small, non-commercial project for my own, which is about adventure (like uncharted). This could be the breakthrough for my new adventure, and thanks to you. I have a couple of questions:
- Can I merge this with my project so that all the swinging and climbing work with my assets?
- Can I also add scripted animation from Mixamo along with this, for punching and fighting?

and why when it swings, it has to take a small time to drop down to the bar's position and then do the swinging animation
Hey there, do you have a clue on how to smooth the transition between landing and ground walking? There seems to be a timer or may be the animation needs to end before we can walk again and i'd like to get ride of this but can't found how.
I dont know if Im too late for this but I found your answer my man! In the UMC Project or your own project UMC is imported on, go to BP_BaseCharacter, then go to GetLandingAnim, and there you can either change the land modes to whatever, the sequence length, or cut it off completely by unlinking any of the boxes before the Branch. I hope this helps my guy!

Great system here man! I have a Parkour Component from another CZcamsr that includes mechanics such as wall running, vertical wall running, and sliding. The problem is that it's used on the UE4 Default Character and not the Y-Bot character in the video. How would I merge your UMC and the Parkour Component onto one character?(Either UE4 or Y-Bot)
Hello, I don't have any idea about the Parkour Component implementation and programming, if you want to merge codes from both component into one character, you need to have good skills of blueprint programming, otherwise if your problem is just animation, you can retarget animations from Y-Bot, it uses the UE4 skeleton.

Any update to UE5 and the Enhanced Input system? I've been trying your component with UE5.4, which has really made the Mixamo retargeting much smoother and easier indeed now, after I abandoned it when I started using UE5 because of some trouble when trying to implement that, I managed to sort a few out but still have an issue with the Start/Stop Jump events on climbing and I haven't found any way to solve that.

The videos you did with retargeting, and using paragon characters had left me a little confused, as I dont use them whatsoever. It's basically made base on 4.20 but you can manually update the project.
To install the project download the files & then copy & paste Config & Content folder to your project.

You can use it in noncommercial projects, if you need full license you can purchase the Ultimate Character project from the unreal marketplace.

Hello there, could you please explain how is this kind of blueprint made? I've practiced parkour for a while, now I started creating a game, and I want it to have an important part on it, I'm creating my own animations and trying to improve them to be as good as possible, but I'm facing some troubles with capsule collision and some other stuff. I intend to make as much as possible of the game on my own, trying to understand everything and avoiding downloads if possible. Any guidandence would appreciated.
Hello Lucas, First of all, you need to learn the basics of engine features like trace, cast, collision, etc. I assume you are a beginner next step for you is to try to learn by reading other people's code and try to make them by yourself as practice, Finally by understanding the problems and learning how to break into smaller problems you will be able to create your own systems.
@@AziApps Thaks for the reply. Yes, I'm a begginer, but I already know these basics you mentioned. My main problem is the capsule, I needed to realocate it (and reverse translate the mesh and camera), put it's bottom exactly at my character's foot while jumping, also resized it, but when he lands I reverse it, sometimes it works, but others it goes wrong, and when reversing my character get stuck under the ground or inside the obstacles. Do you have any advice for it?

12:11 My issue as I'm trying to integrate this into an existing project/character asset of mine is that within the animBP I'm using, within the Get Character Info function, I get an error - This blueprint (self) is not a BP_BaseCharacter_C, therefore 'target' must have a connection. I have created a Character variable with type BP Base Character and the event beginplay fires off ok, it's just this get character info function which I need to get working. My playercharacter has been childed to Base Character, obviously the animBP has not been. Any advice please?

You don't need to use the Characters but if you need the Movement Component license that's the way.

i guess this thing died, tried to download it, only got a broken blueprint of the character, no "ultimate" component, and some animations, that's all.
This must be concept for the new Assassins creed from Ubisoft it is so buggy
