This was my first time dying my hair, so I made several mistakes. BUT (haha butt), I’m dyeing my hair again very soon, and am in *dire* need of your assistance. So if you have any tips or brand recommendations, feel free to leave them in the comments. I read every single one!! I appreciate and love you, and I hope you all have a wonderful day!! B)
just grab some bleach powder and 30 volume developer since your hair is a bit darker and start applying to the ends of your hair from back to front (PLEASE SECTION EVERY STRAND OF YOUR HAIR IF YOU CAN) *the smaller the section, the faster it lightens* then if your hair is bright enough orange or yellow, start applying to the roots so it process everything evenly 🙂 *purple shampoo is recommended after this*

You need a bleach and tone. So get bleach powder and 20 vol. apply plenty of product, leave on for up to 50mins and repeat if you forgot areas until your hair is bright yellow/inside banana. This might take you 3 or 4 sessions, and it does alter the composition of your hair. When you have a fairly even canvas you can use a semipermanent in a 9n or 9a to give you a beige blonde hair color instead of bright white yellow hair. Condition and oil and leave in condition and only wash when absolutely needed
What were the boxes you were using- like the first box for the first part and second for the second part? I wanna try to use them on my hair too haha

@@ToriCastell you can’t go lighter without bleach tho :( and to be completely honest box dye is very damaging for your hair aswell...btw blond is always a permanent colour because you have to bleach and remove the dark pigments out of your hair to get it lighter (idk if I make sense but pls go see a professional next time it’s worth it.:) you can also go blond with highlights it looks very natural and isn’t as damaging as bleaching the whole head)

I followed just for sheer effort and talent shown. 😂😂❤❤
I have gone to cosmetology school and lightened (box-bleached) my hair for about 2 decades. The only reason I know of color running out of someone's hair is... wait for it... darker/old dye being rinsed out. You can actually lighten hair with "boxed-dye" (it has lightener and dye in it). It just usually doesn't lighten more than 2 shades. If you want to go lighter than that you (usually) have to use actual lighter/boxed-bleach, then tone or put a boxed blonde shade over it. If a person has any color dye in their hair, and wants to go lighter, they have to remove the dark dye color first. Or, you will end up with weird hair color(s) (orange, greenish tint, or not much at all will happen)... I hope this helps someone- anyone!
Heyy so I had blonde hair a couple of months ago and I went to the salon and dyed it black (around 2 months ago), thing is I don’t like it and I want to do light brown (also never have used black box dye btw), how can I do this ? Should I book an appointment or is it to soon to dye it
Girl i did the same because im terrified of using bleach (i know everyone says "you need bleach") and i was better with the idea of not getting too light than using bleach because if you dont know how to use it your hair can literally fall out, it actually turned out a caramel light brown and im happy :)

You must bleach your hair first in a professional hair salon
You can use bleach with 10 volume and leave it longer and go in stages for it to be more gentle too. Please drench your hair in coconut oil an hour before bleaching to protect your hair. I have mid thigh hair that I had to bleach hair color stains from...
Also please research bleach soap caps. Doing them with conditioner can be slower but also gentler.

girl this is hair color... not bleach. Brad Mondo is right about "the roots process faster" but it's about bleach. That's not your case.
Color can do that too though, especially lighter than your natural shade colors.

This was exactly what I did years ago when I went blonde. I'm a natural dark brunette and I went through just like on the video, day after day redyeing. The first blonde dye barely lifted it. I achieved the blonde through persistence, some bleach, and using the lightest blonde box dyes all over the hair each time. Now I wish I just accepted my natural colour. It's fun to experiment though..

Is it just me, but the second time you dyed your hair was the one that suits you the most. In my opinion
Loved your video very funny! As someone who has gone from light brown the blond a few times let me give you a few tips. Even as a light brown haired person if I want to go blonde I have to use bleach. If I don’t I get the same orange result which doesn’t look bad just not what we were going for. Also, sections are a great idea and worth it to buy a brush. It is still hard to get it even easier to have someone help me than do my own head. Also if you shop around depending on where you live you might be able to find a salon that is more reasonable priced.
Lol the part that says “Act 1: The Dying” I read like somebody is dying as in dead and then I realized how dumb I am 😂 but that does sound very dramatic

Final color looks great, although I prefer the "middle" color, orange-y one. And your waves are making me jealous...
Btw, your face shape is "the most desired one"- perfect oval, so fringes or no fringes...you look bloody amazing.

Okay but what you should’ve done is bleach your hair using 30 volume, left it on for 40 minutes. After washing that out you should’ve dried it and used professional colour (I’d suggest the wella koleston blonde range) with 20 volume and left it for 60 minutes. I wish I saw this video closer to the time you posted it though because I’ve seen that you’ve done a lot to your hair since then 😂
Haha!! Thank you for the advice!! If I ever dye my hair again I’ll try to use your steps :) The reason I hesitated on using bleach was because I know it can ruin hair. Also, the box dye specified that it would be able to turn brown (very unspecific, I know) into blonde using only the dye and no other products such as bleaches. Clearly my hair was too dark lol :p
@@ToriCastell ahh yes bleach does have a bad name because of how many people use it incorrectly and post it online. As long as your hair isn’t too damaged to start with and you start with a lower peroxide then you should be fine. Oh and don’t even leave it on too long, always set a timer

@@yk22337 I’d say do it straight after, especially if it’s a fashion colour like pink blue purple etc. It could make your hair feel nicer after too. Toners with low percentage peroxide leave a glaze on the hair too
Next time you grab a blonde box dye make at least sure that it claims to be a high lift color xD
The dye said it could lift 4 levels of color ;-; Clearly they were LYinG (or I have no clue what I'm doing)

Box color or bleach is only 20 volume! You have to use a 30 for dark hair to get it to a blonde. You look good with
the lighter brown hair though. And since your hair is still curly, it means that it is not fried.
