The Story Behind: Msaki "Tomorrow Silver"

The Story Behind continues to bring 5FM listeners closer to their favourite artists as they speak deeply, openly and honestly about their music. This episode is no different.
We have heard Msaki across SA in countless different genres but certainly "Tomorrow Silver" is one of her most iconic tracks yet. The almost prayer-like lyrics transcend the music. The vocals are accompanied by incredible producers in Sun-El Musician and Diplo and these three music stalwarts dominated the Top 40 on 5 earlier this year, reaching Number One in April 2022.
In this episode, Msaki opens up about when she wrote these lyrics; falling sick while on tour in Berlin and being away from family made her take a moment to reflect on her life. In the interview, Msaki admits that she didn't realise how big a moment writing this song was.
