Thank you very much for your comments. You know, this song is not new, it is actually more a dancing tune than a song! The dance they dance at the end is the traditional dance called “Timonya”. That’s why it’s more rhythmical than concentrates on the tune and lyrics. And it is not just one side of Russia - it is completely real. The guy who is starring in the video is not just playing his part in a show - it is his actual life and his real farm, all those are his own animals! His name is Michael Kolomytsev (Михаил Коломыцев), he is a farmer and a professional musician, he plays accordion amazingly well. He is also the father of 5 children and he has his own CZcams channel.
You are right! I recently discovered his CZcams channel through Yulia, the violin player in the group who also has her own channel. I left a comment on one of his videos: "Тимоня!!" And I discovered this gem of a film from the 1960s showing the actual dance. czcams.com/video/10GL5jQKgig/video.html

And I like the band too! Like I said it the previous video where you reacted to them. Got a few of their songs in my music play list. But not this, a new song I suppose? Hello Kristina, nice you joined the video! Yeah Otava Yo's songs are always funny and have this country idyllic. They are from St Petersburg and its countryside is old Karelian land: Karelian land is this fusion of Finnish and Russian cultures and this is quite familiar looking to me. Same image as I have about idyllic country life, some decades back. In their videos there's often a big number of people.
Yeah what Kristina said about the lack in the variation: I had the same feeling. The violin and pipe kept going the same rhythm and pattern most of the song, and the male choir had this story telling rhythm: it's much a story telling song. But there were couple of moments when it changed completely different, violin disappered and just the drum continued (also some instruments I failed to recognize), sometimes the drum with vocals. It's hard to notice when one focuses in to the video, and I had this idea of lack of variation too. But second time I didn't watch the video, and then could focus more in the music.

Hello, I'm also a metalhead since 1987 (yes, I'm a little old :) ) and I love this guys. In fact, today arrived at my post the last album from they. Despite I don't understand russian, russian language sound good to my ears. Maybe it's because I'm portuguese. :D Hope to see this guys live one time in my live, but because I'm living at this moment in Leipzig maybe I have luck. The comment about the video apart from the song itself is something I have noticed about a lot of their work. The videos are almost a different story from the song itself. I think of the video for the song что за песни is completely separate from the song.

You know Stormy, I was about to start my comment with something like: "I certainly have NOT said anything about hating the previous song☝️, So do not lie to Kristina or try to make me look bad in the eyes of your BEAUTIFUL girlfriend😡... I may have said that it wasn't my style of music or that it was difficult to get into or🤔... that it would have been a bit messy for me but NOT☝️ hating"😅... So I went to see the comment I left there and yeah🙄... Well..what can I say😂.. I was pretty clear with my thoughts, I really DID hate it after all🤦♂... And😬.... Sorry but I REALLY hated this too😂.. I mean, how the song even can be SO annoying🙄.... It wasn't like my ears would have bleed but I think if this had last even a minute longer, then it would have been close😂😂...
No, seriously☝️, SO off of my music taste and I don't say it was a bad song but it doesn't change the fact that I will never listen this song again😂😂.. to my ears just way too messy with all these instruments😬
But I agree one thing☝️, this definetily was a happy mood song and video and that "other side" of Russia was really nice to see too😅..
