Thanks for the advice for people with back issues. That’s exactly what I wanted to know.

Nice review. Almost returned it as my wife purchased it for me and thought it was too much weight. Backpack trips are not extensive so a little extra weight will be ok for the comfort

Great review!! From your experience, was the regular size a pain to pack back up?

Great review. The only thing I would wonder about cot/pad vs Kylmit is if the ground is wet, maybe the cot would be a better option, being that the pads might wear faster after being wet, and they might tend to get moldy when wet. What do you think? Also, how do these pads compare to the standard therma-rest pads? Cheers.

@@funbobtime Cool. FYI - I've lived in my van for two years (and I was an avid motorcycle camper for 10 years before, mostly in Oregon) and my thermarest has been a rock. I've use it everyday for years. The van can get dank with humidity sometimes, and I've cleaned my thermarest with dilute bleach solution, and it performs like a champ. Soon, I'm going to Ukraine to volunteer as a nurse, and I'm preparing for some wet weather conditions. I think the thermarest is the way to go, although I'm tempted to buy an ultralite cot too (just to get me off damp ground of need be). In any case, I bought a military bivy sleep system and a tarp. Your videos have been helpful in my research. Thanks!

Hey Bob, your review is one of very few on the internet, I find that very puzzling :0). Anyhow I struggle with back issues and can not sleep on cheap thinner pads. Now I sleep very good on the luxury fat self inflating types like exceed megamatt. But I can not find any comparison to those types of pad with the klymaloft. So I try here :0). Have you tried those and how does it compare to the klymaloft xl ? Are still liking the klymaloft ? I am a sidesleeper as well. Best wishes

I haven’t tried that pad, but my buddy had it, loved it, but it’s just too big. I still use the klymaloft for car camping, or warm short summer night trips. For longer or colder trips I like the Big Agnes insulated q-core wide, or less often the Klymit static V lux. Cheers

@@funbobtime does the XL version feel like a bed or more like a air mattress? I feel some of the other thick sleeping pads that are air only feel really uncomfortable compared to the thick pads that incorporate foam as well. I tried the camp dreamer xl at REI and thought it was ridiculously comfortable and am wondering if this is similar

    Hiya Good Time Robert,
    Pre-Script: This comment ain’t a normal one.
Found and watched your uploads this morning while researching ACU modular sleep systems, been considering buying one off of eBay. Your videos are helpfully informative and delightfully hilarious. Will probably decide to buy newer rather than vintage. I’d like to lower the risk of my bag being haunted by casualties of war, I think.
I know this approach is unorthodox but I would really like to learn more from you in regards to our mutual passion of not dying outdoors.
I find gathering and utilizing not dying outdoors knowledge to be a worthy endeavor that can absolutely be fun, like you have exampled. One could say I live for it.
So if you feel up to swapping nature nerd wisdom, let me know how I could better reach you. I’d really like to stop the awkwardness that is this publicly seen post modern love inquiry letter.
    Either way-Stay fun, Bob.

Post-Script: Yes, I am 100% hitting on you. Yes, it is weird to do this genuinely over a CZcams comment.
And no, I’m not going to stalk you across social media platforms like an unnerving, leering peeping Tom.
I don’t do that anymore, you know, since the last restraining ruling.
