    45:30 The farmer he is referencing here is the late Masanobu Fukuoka and the book is 'The One Straw Revolution' if anyone wanted to know. A lot of no-till people are really heavy into Fukuoka's work. Also, another author's name I should mention is Ruth Stout, she also was greatly influential with her similar techniques involving deep mulching with spoiled hay.

    Quartz/sand/glass is silicon dioxide. Amorphous silicon dioxide is the best plants because its in usable form. Diatomaceous Earth is Amorphous quartz/sand/glass the stuff he talking about.

    Gypsum is another good ingredient for soil mix. DE also good for killing/controlling soft body pests 😉

    Gary.. I live in the tropics and I have access to beach sand which is mostly coral calcium.. is that ok? Oh kinda tough to manage with so much calcium... Thank you for answering..ps. I'm growing bell peppers tomatoes and onions.
