    So happy to see more ChIrrut videos, this has been my favorite deck of the format so far. You have a lot of options for game plans depending on the match up. Yes takedown and exhausts are rough to deal with, but I often feel there's room to play around these effects.
    It's also just super super fun. Force powers, lightsabers, Jedi everywhere. ❤

      If they takedown Chirrut, they probably dont have it for Mace or luke

    I think Chirrut Red is arguably the most fun deck in the game. You need to be quite alert as a pilot due to all the synergies but I like how it can mix it up with almost all decks if tactically used.

    I built a very similar deck in preparation for my local Store Championship but after some playtesting, ended up swapping Chirrut out for Leader Luke. I went 3-1. My only loss was to the player that won the event. I main decked the Disabling Fang Fighters (instead of Red Three) since Entrenched, Traitorous, and Shields are a big problem.

    This looks like a ton of fun. Love the off-meta decks, and Chirrut is one of my favorite characters in the franchise. Wish I could get my hands on Lukes, though.

    For me its a 50/50 split tarkintown or 30health. The 3 damage out of nowhere has helped quite often but sometimes i forget to use it haha

    Inspired by your video, I took a close variation of this to a couple weekly plays and it was a ton of fun! Part of the success may have been other players being unfamiliar with Chirrut, and I think every opponent mentioned that his unit side ability is so much better in practice than when you read it. My two big struggles were when I came up against Sentinel and closing out games that were going longer. I had an epic blown lead where I had 27 damage on their base and none on mine and just kept drawing all my lower cost cards and unable to keep any sort of board state. Force Lightning on Chirrut is no fun. The Force Throw plays with your big units on there's really is great ("Oh, you just deployed your Darth Vader leader unit? It'd be a shame if someone force threw a Redemption into that!"). Granted, I brought no sideboard with me so I couldn't adapt between games, but still, overall a very fun deck to play and I think a very good deck!

      That's awesome to hear! Yes, sounds like you were just a sideboard away from clutching victory. Infiltrator's Skill might have been the card you needed to push through! I've definitely had games with many decks where I just draw too many early game drops in the late game - that's also part of why I've shifted down a bit in how many T1 plays I run. It's a delicate balance and even with good choices, you can't totally mitigate bad luck!
      Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for reporting back!!

      @@MaindeckGames Haha, Infiltrator's Skill was the first card I came home and sleeved for my sideboard!

    If you can get past Takedown.....Chirrut can become a beast. And a little more to that point, I think Gen. Dodonna is absolutely mandatory for rebel leaders with a printed hp of 5.

    • @MaindeckGames
      @MaindeckGames  Před 3 měsíci +3

      Dodonna would definitely be a good call in here too! Making him instantly out of Takedown range without dealing some damage in first is strong!

    • @Gutsman85
      @Gutsman85 Před 3 měsíci +2

      I don't care for Dodonna myself, but I can see your reasoning. I usually will not deploy Chirrut against Blue unless I know I immediately be taken down before attaching an upgrade or granting experience.

      @@Gutsman85 protecting with a Regional Governor that names Takedown is also a good way to protect Chirrut, and leaves you some extra resources to play with

    • @Gutsman85
      @Gutsman85 Před 3 měsíci +1

      I excluded regional governor for now but it's an excellent sideboard consideration depending on your local metagame!

      I just don't find chirrut has enough units out ever for dodonna over k2s0 and removals

    I found a deck like this on SWUDB and had to build it. But I own NO Luke's and cannot afford any, and only 1 Mace. Might have to invest in a few more Mace's. So I am using Guerilla Attack Pod instead of Luke. But otherwise the deck is identical!

    • @JKSSubstandard
      @JKSSubstandard Před 3 měsíci

      I have 1 like 1 mace. I added an extra redemption and some vigilant honor guards. The honor guards are a nice meat shield for chirrut
