For today’s experiment we will be observing 10 children living in the same house!

I've gone back to TS3 the last few weeks and it's so nice to play that game because there's always something going on. My teenage Sims have found their own boyfriends, all by themselves at school. They go to prom together because the boys asked them. They call for dates, it's just really nice that I don't have to do it. There's so many activities for them to do like fun hobby type stuff, but also after school activities. My adult Sims will get into arguments with other Sims, they'll flirt with other Sims. It's just so much more detailed. I normally neglect getting my teenage Sims boyfriends/girlfriends because it's too much work so they end up going through until they're a young adult without a first kiss or ever going on a date. In TS4 it's just wake up, eat breakfast, go to work/school, come home, eat dinner, go to bed. It's just the same thing day after day.
exactly! I especially like to play with big families and ,it could just be my personal bias, but every character seems to have it's own personality. Aside from the customization that i use to diferentiate my children, it feels like i can take a totaly different path with everyone.
@@hami5544 I agree, it seems like they all have different things they want to do or will do when left on their own. The way they react to things is more realistic. I sent one of my teenage Sims somewhere earlier today, but it was really late at night. I keep forgetting there's a curfew lol, she came back and got grounded by her dad. I was so confused like why isn't she doing what I told her to do, I guess my point is that all that happened without my input and I like that.

You should do the same in the Sims 3 (with generations so there's a chance of imaginary friends) and see the behaviour differences

I think one of the biggest reasons why they didn't do anything interesting was because they were energized the entire time. The actions of the Sims is almost entirely determined by the mood they are in. This is definitely a failing of this game.
I think you should have let the fire continue just to push the game to see if the Sims 4 would have actually burned them all...talk about pushing the limits of morality

Would you be able to do this experiment with Sims 2? Would be certain interesting to see the difference
In the Sims 2, kids can get taken away if their grades are too low, so if they are locked in the house they can't go to school it might be a little hard. Unless it's done over a weekend or if there's a way to cheat their grades.
@@SamBryans128 It’s only 24 hours and grades only go down by 1 per day so even if they all started on C they’d go down to D and wouldn’t get taken away. They would get taken away for being unsupervised though. There would have to be a hidden adult somewhere else in the house.

When you zoomed into the dollhouse I realized… those are ‘my sims’ characters
It’s equivalent to making your sims play the sims on the computer… self referencing. Someone thought they were fairly clever at EA for that one.
Well, I think its a whole thing. You have the mysims racing games on the console thingi from city living, mysims adventures on the computer, and you can collect mysims collectables. I think its a nod to the actual mysims. Bc that exists apparently lmao.
yeah, they're also in the simmi capsules from snowy escape and those statues you find when digging things up.
I’m new to the sims, but you’re videos are so fun to watch. My fave is “oh HI” 😀…when the video got started I thought “wow this is just like that documentary with all those kids in that house” and then you mentioned it 😂

I've never tried but is there a way to set bed times?? If not that'd be a cool idea.. click your kid and set their bed time so they get ready for bed themselves lol
the walking inside of each other that they do in sims4 is from the amount of people who were mad about losing in-game-hours at a time several times a day to sims doing a little dance
About to watch but just from the title all I can think is “A MESS! That’s what you’ll get! 😂” cuz my sims kids are ALWAYS making a mess on the floors 😤

I saw the Documentary with the kids. I remember the girls found a cat somehow and argued about which room of girls got to have the cat in there with them at night.
Would love to see a Sims 2 version of this! Really and truly I’ve only ever watched sims 2 and 3 Lets Plays from you so it would be fun
Those documentaries are on CZcams if anyone wants to watch.. just look up kids unsupervised for a week ECT.. it should pop up. Idk if anyone remembers baby swappers or something.. where couples or people got kids that never had them and had to take care of them while the parents watched from another building just incase something bad happened lol. The TV shows that wouldn't fly today!!
I think some of the kids were actually traumatized after that documentary or at least one version, because yes there were multiple experiments and they were all absolutely awful :(
Idk how many mods you use but it would be cool to do a version with no mods, and a version with mods (especially ones that affect autonomy) to see the difference
You should totally do this same test in the rest of the games it would be interesting to see how they differ in autonomy

If you want to see a show about children being stranded on their own look up Kidnation, it was a show where they took a bunch of kids (like between 6 and 16 I think) and they dropped them in an abandoned wild west style town and they had to run it themselves, they were divided into teams that were designated by a color so there was competition between them.
I noticed they also only went and took a nap, rather then actually go to sleep, which is weird, I've seen adults do that too, whether it was something similar to this or when I myself was playing and the adult gets sleepy, but for some reason just goes for a nap! KInd of like how they will even make coffee or tea to drink, trying to stay awake, rather then doing the logical things and going to bed to sleep, lol!
it would be really cool to see this experiment again with all the different occults together in one house when we get werewolves! A child and adult version!
Maybe in the adult version have a boy and girl of each occult so we might get some occult babies? :D Or maybe a "good" and "bad" version of each occult? Like an evil spellcaster and a good one for example but do that for all of them!

Unfortunately child occults don’t actually do any occult thing so it would just be the same as this :( but I was literally thinking of that idea when they teased werewolves

I have seen those documentaries where they left the kids in the houses together and you're right, they are really awful... I was actually thinking about how this reminded me of those before you mentioned it so you succeeded in recreating it I think!

Sims 4 is not a terrible game but it's missing a lot of variety and cool details that previous games (namely Sims 2 & 3) had which made the world feel more alive.
If there was a mod for Sims 4 that re-added certain features and details from the Sims 2 and 3 I would literally spend days on the game nonstop.

This experiment did happen irl once. The video's somewhere online, though I can't remember the name as I saw it years ago. Mainly, arguments, mess, arguments over who will clean the mess, and people going home early after arguments.

my friends sister was in that documentry it was a shit show from the beginning they had to intervene to many times that kind of took the illusion of them being 'left alone' 😂
Sims 4 should've had it so kids can learn about fire safety and how to use a fire extinguisher either from an adult or by reading a book about fire safety, then afterwards they could put out a fire if they see one, it would've been a nice feature for the kids, especially since not everyone has the mod that lets kids be spellcasters and do magic, with the chillo spell, very helpful when their parent catches on fire while cooking.
Its so funny that the kids reaction to a busted dollhouse is the same as a dead sim 😂

My headcanon is that that’s volcanic ash falling outside the windows, and that’s why these kids are trapped inside. Totally ethical now, right?

I find that when they’re standing around for long periods of time it means that they’re usually glitched. And I usually have to reset them.
You should totally do this with sims 2!!🤍
You should redo this with other Sims versions and also maybe with mods like have some personality please and meaningful stories to start of simple at first and then get more chaotic mods to see if they will do anything interesting
And this is actually a really good experiment to show how the autonomy works (and also how bad it is)
It's a shame they kinda just... Didn't give the Sims any depth or personality

Yes, they can.
Yeah, they can drown, burn to death, die from disease, etc.
They can freeze to death & 50/50 Rodent Fever can get them.
They can also drown, catch on fire, die by pufferfish in Dine Out, etc
