I am the ultimate Fit enthusiast. I just bought my third, a 2020 Milano Red Fit Sport CVT, having given my 2011 Sport to my grandson-in-law, and my 2015 LX to my daughter. The first two have manual transmissions. For the 2020 I couldn't find a manual, but now find I prefer the CVT because using the paddles in Sport mode turns out to be very fun! The additional feature of the Fit, and the reason I like them so much, is how much fun they are "canyon carving." They are unbelievably fast with super road holding. I continually surprise my friends who have much more expensive sports cars. I put summer performance tires on the first two, but find the OEM Firestone FR740 tires stick just fine, are quiet and give a good ride. You can see Fits excel in going through curves on race tracks on CZcams.

I bought my 2008 FIT in 2015 with 59K on it. To this day I can say it's the best design of a small car I've ever owned. There's no parking space I can't get into and more than ample leg room front and rear. Also, any storage space by folding seats is incredible. I'm going to buy a latest model(up to 2020) in a couple of years.

I've got an 07 fit sport in manual with nearly 197k, I love this lil car it gets great mileage at any speed, even though it's got a tiny 1.5L, over 3.5k (out of a 7k redline) it's a totally different car cause it's so light with VTEC and it's an absolute, cornering machine. I threw a HKS axle-back on for the sound and the lil 1.5 has a great note, even with the exhaust pipe being only 1.5 in. wide. My cats starting to go so I'm just gonna straight pipe it and I'm sure it'll sound even better.
I didn't know about turning off the Econ to get better air conditioning, and that the gas tank was under the driver's seat. I just bought a 2016 Honda fit with about 60,000 miles on it and I really love this car. I drive 100 miles every work day to commute so I am spending very little on fuel compared to my 2005 Subaru outback that I was previously commuting with. On the highway I average about 40 miles per gallon at 65 to 70 mph.
I am owner Honda Fit 2009, there is also some disadvantages. To change spark plugs it requires to remove plastic cover under front window, wipers holder and possible gaskit. The engine also requires to adjust valves after some certain miles and the doors dimention is so thin that can be esealy danaged by any nabor car door in a public parking.
The older models also have a hidden compartment under the rear seats for storing your gun or other valuables. I found that out when trading it in for a newer one.
Need to replace the auto folding mirror of my Honda fit 2016, when going to order the mirror, there seems 2 parts showing up in the system, one is the mirror unit and other is mirror unit with comfort pack ?. which one should be ordered ?. I believe comfort pack is the switches on the driver side door to fold and adjust the mirror, please guide.
This was awesome I had no idea my back seats fold up and out of the way like that. I’ll also note that my fit is a manual and the ac works awesome so maybe that’s just an auto complaint.
I have a 2018 that looks just like this one, and I love it! Great car that feels roomier when you sit in it than it looks, because it's a narrow and short car, good for parking. The windshield is larger than most, so you get a bigger view. You can squeeze a bicycle in the back by laying one of the back seats down flat. I live in super hot summer Arizona, and I wish the air conditioner was powerful, but it's just a matter of giving it 15 minutes on the hottest days. I don't have covered parking, so any car sitting in 110+ heat is going to take time to cool. Most of the year, it's fine. If you can find a covered/shady parking spot, you will be fine even on very hot day. I don't think a/c works well for back seat, especially on super hot days. It will take time to cool a hot car. It's a great car for a college student. I would say my gas tank holds 8 gallons.
I know from first hand experience that a lot of large bulky items can easily fit inside the spacious cabin. You'd be surprised what can fit inside this little hatchback. Even with 4 passengers there's still decent room behind the back seats for lots of groceries.
I'm a drummer can fit an entire 4-piece drum set with cymbals, hardware, etc. with room left over with the rear seats folded down. I can even fit a 26" diameter marching bass drum and a couple of marching snare drums with carriers..amazing amount of storage capacity with the rear seats folded down. All in a peppy, great handling economical package it's a winner.
I bought a new 2016 Honda fit ES because of MPG and price primarily. Also the specs were good but I could suggest a few changes they could have made. My other vehicle is a 98 T-100 truck. In my opinion the best truck ever made. Bought it used. Now I would probably sell my 2004 Highlander and consider a 2023 Mitsubishi outlander as a third vehicle. I keep cars for a long time and a 10 year drive train warranty sounds good. Back to the fit... it has 30,000 miles and the tire sensor has decided to stay on. I'll get it/them fixed eventually. I like the car. People do think I am nice. Even my wife of almost 48 years likes me, sorta.
@@drama2u I learned from a friends' Prius C to toggle the AC on and off as you drive. That can be difficult if you drive a lot since the Prius line does it automatically, but it helps to keep the MPG up to just push the AC button on an as needed basis. I try to consider city stops in advance, and that can't help as much with everyone who lives in another area.
(Gk5) Remove the passenger front seat and put the rear seat back up. Then fold the rear seat bottom up. (Magic seat configuration) A 6 foot tall person can completely lay down in the floor board.
You can figure out where they put the gas tank if you follow the exhaust. I was thinking about replacing mine with a stainless steel setup and thought the way it runs back was weird until I saw the gas tank.

@@yittmashups It seems YT has removed my comment twice. I'll try to convey it without whatever key words I am using they don't like. This will be my last effort. 😂 Refresh mode is difficult to explain. It's basically a recliner in the back seat, using the front seat for the legs.

I have a 6mt, so no 'eco' switch for me, also I have mods and live in SoCal, so getting 30mpg is great, and 40 is no longer possible. 😅 However for the AC, it almost seems to work better when I leave the recirc fan off, and just constantly intake air. Kinda backwards from what you'd think but... 🤔
Thanks, I have not driven much in the snow I think it will do similar to other front wheel drive cars, a little snow should be manageable especially with snow tires. Heavier snow will be difficult with the low ride height
Unfortunately, 2020 was the last model year for the Fit in the United States. I'm disappointed. I love my 2007 Fit. My next car most likely will be a Honda Civic.
But I hate that my 08 doesent have cruise control orrr driver side arm rests .. but I love love love it other then that .... It's also the lightest car I've driven, and I've spun out a few times...berry scarry
If you are a DIY person you can diagonally fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood in the back and "mostly close" the hatch with a bungee. Exhaust fumes can then come into the car but it's okay for short trips. You can't do this with a Civic or Corolla.
#5 is accurate. People really think that Fit’s A/C is weak. I live in the Philippines where it’s always hot. But when Eco of my Fit is turned off, I need to put the A/C in power 1.
Hi! I own a 2018 Toyota Camry LE. I used to own a Buick Encore and really really miss the compactness of it. I own the my current Camry outright and I’m itching for a compact hatchback. I’m looking at a 2016 Honda Fit LX. Is it worth trading my candy for it? What are the pros and cons?
Great video I have a 2017 fit love the car overall though I live o Central Valley of California and the ac is a bit weak. I’ll try turning Off the Eco mode next summer. The car has developed a bit of a front end shutter w braking particularly when traveling downhill I’ll see if Honda can figure it out and hope that extended warranty will cover it. 89K miles on the car as of this writing.
Ditch the Econ button altogether. I have a ‘17 Fit Ex and with Econ the car is sluggish, annoying, and as mentioned it consumes way more gas for the a/c which runs the defogger (hey, I live in Washington’s perpetual misty rain 🌧️). With Eco off, the car is spirited and I get the best mileage (425 miles on 9.5 gal tank, in Eco I barely get 330). I only have a k&n air filter btw and I changed the better to a Diehard. Best investments with this car. Cheers.
My 2015 model has no dipstick to check CVT transmission oil level unlike the 2006 model I had previously. The CVT oil also needs changing every 2 years which is not cheap. Also spare wheel area is big enough for a full size wheel but instead comes with air pump and sealant as standard in the UK. The black string on the rear parcel shelf always catches on the protruding rubber stopper at the side of the parcel shelf when lifting up tailgate. This has to be a design fault. No midrange torque. Try accelerating to steady 15mph then press gas down half way and nothing happens until you press all the way down then it shifts down a gear then it starts accelerating. My 2006 model felt much more responsive and much more satisfying to drive.
I have 2020 Fit. I have lane departure, right side camera with turn signal and so much more! I have the paddles for using manual transmission when needed. I love this car!
Rear drum brakes make perfect sense on light weight front wheel cars. FWD cars have more weight bias toward the front of the car AND weight transfer under braking puts about 80% of the braking on the front disks. Also, drum brakes are lighter, cheaper, work better as a parking brake and the brake shoes usually last the lifetime of the car - even a Fit! But, you can't paint your calipers red to impress your friends at the track.
Another strange thing, most Honda Fit owners seem to be really nice, friendly considerate people.

The engine also requires to adjust valves after some certain miles and the doors dimention is so thin that can be esealy danaged by any nabor car door in a public parking.
Awesome vdo. N awesome ride
Watched both of your videos on the HF. Time for me to consider one. Still drive my 1993 Honda Civic Del Sol!! Thank you.
Had my 1996 civic (bought in 2006) for 11 years before my fit
The older models also have a hidden compartment under the rear seats for storing your gun or other valuables. I found that out when trading it in for a newer one.
🎉 My man, thanks for this Video
Learned something new today
Honda Fit all the way
09 Fit Sport Blk looking to trade in
2019 or 2020....
Would love to see a video on the older Fit's... I've got a 2007... THANKS
This was awesome I had no idea my back seats fold up and out of the way like that. I’ll also note that my fit is a manual and the ac works awesome so maybe that’s just an auto complaint.
Same, I have a manual ex 2015 and the ac blows ice cold even on first setting.
2016 AC works very well also.
Omg. Your gas milage is so good. My car recently has been getting really bad milage 😭😭😭
Thank you!
We "downgraded" from a Rogue, and I swear I can get more in my Fit.
Would love to see a video on 2007 Fit❤️
Thanks mate good to know
The rear drum brakes is weird to me too. There are conversion kits but I don't do any brake work except for brake pads.
Even my wife of almost 48 years likes me, sorta.
also yes, in summer it gets toasty here in texas, if you keep the car moving it makes the AC work higher as well
How weak is the Ac? Are we talking weak blower or it just doesn't get very cold?
@@delplaya5 not very cold. but also I fat.
@@caatabatic hahaha
Either you're selling this car or you just love it to the point...
Nice vibe
I did not realize the tip about the AC. Noted.
Awesome!
I'm looking to get one myself..
Thanks for #5, had no idea. I guess I'll stop driving in Eco mode lol
I get about the same milage with it either way. It does help to be gentle with the throttle anyway.
The eco mode is awesome, don’t stop using it
@@drama2u I learned from a friends' Prius C to toggle the AC on and off as you drive. That can be difficult if you drive a lot since the Prius line does it automatically, but it helps to keep the MPG up to just push the AC button on an as needed basis. I try to consider city stops in advance, and that can't help as much with everyone who lives in another area.
Eco mode is great for driving in the snow. It dumbs down the throttle which makes it easier to not stab the throttle and spin the tires
(Gk5)
Remove the passenger front seat and put the rear seat back up. Then fold the rear seat bottom up. (Magic seat configuration)
A 6 foot tall person can completely lay down in the floor board.
You can figure out where they put the gas tank if you follow the exhaust. I was thinking about replacing mine with a stainless steel setup and thought the way it runs back was weird until I saw the gas tank.
It's amazing how pretty much all of this car is essentially the same as my first generation 2007 Fit.
Please make a vedio for change language of honda fit original navigation
i have the 2010 honda fit and really want to install a screen like that one but cant find any that are good for the price
So with Econ mode off the air conditioning is just as strong as other cars?
i hate to be a negative nancy but the turning circle is massive.
Its sometimes hard to turn around in tight spaces..
But other than that. awesome.. :)
and thanks for your great videos.
This car being compact just enough actually helped me with parallel parking. Thankfully it wasn't the massive Honda accord I had to use for parking.
Seems like sedans are such inefficient uses of space and size compared to a Fit. Especially with the large trunk
@@chrisp9859 The only good thing maybe about sedans is if they use the extra space for a better engine (v6 or v8) but yeah I like that my Fit is compact but can still hold 4 people. I've never really wanted one of those small "2 seater cars."
i have honda fit but im having problem to connect phone on my car! what is 1.0a ?
Thank you@
Thank you!!!
You should show refresh mode. My salesman at the Honda dealership didn't even know it would do that.
Well, here was your chance to tell us what that is.
@@yittmashups It seems YT has removed my comment twice. I'll try to convey it without whatever key words I am using they don't like. This will be my last effort. 😂 Refresh mode is difficult to explain. It's basically a recliner in the back seat, using the front seat for the legs.
i am thinking of getting a honda fit 2015.. i heard people talking about efficency is bad. can someone explain pls cause i only heard this from one source.
I have a 6mt, so no 'eco' switch for me, also I have mods and live in SoCal, so getting 30mpg is great, and 40 is no longer possible. 😅
However for the AC, it almost seems to work better when I leave the recirc fan off, and just constantly intake air. Kinda backwards from what you'd think but... 🤔
Waiting to get my fit next week, mind to tell me what kind of mod you did? And where do you do the performance upgrades in SoCal
Cool vid.
Will the fit keep up with heavy snow? Thanks for the great video!
Thanks, I have not driven much in the snow I think it will do similar to other front wheel drive cars, a little snow should be manageable especially with snow tires. Heavier snow will be difficult with the low ride height
How do u get a discount that is stuck out?
nice vid
If you have your front windshield wipers on, when you put the car in reverse, the rear wiper will turn on automatically.
Please tell us about it's consumption.
I love my glossy white 2010 Honda Fit or in Indonesia they name it Honda Jazz RS. No biggie and fun to ride.. Honda Fit owner unite!!
Unfortunately, 2020 was the last model year for the Fit in the United States. I'm disappointed. I love my 2007 Fit. My next car most likely will be a Honda Civic.
I love my fit 😍
But I hate that my 08 doesent have cruise control orrr driver side arm rests .. but I love love love it other then that .... It's also the lightest car I've driven, and I've spun out a few times...berry scarry
If you are a DIY person you can diagonally fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood in the back and "mostly close" the hatch with a bungee. Exhaust fumes can then come into the car but it's okay for short trips. You can't do this with a Civic or Corolla.
I worked at The Home Depot and you might be surprised by how annoying customers insist on making stuff fit in cars that shouldn't
@@sparkymikey25 Well, this explains the empty boxes for BBQ grills in the parking lot - LOL
I love my Honda Fit
Great video
I have a 2017 fit love the car overall though I live o Central Valley of California and the ac is a bit weak. I’ll try turning
Off the Eco mode next summer.
The car has developed a bit of a front end shutter w braking particularly when traveling downhill
I’ll see if Honda can figure it out and hope that extended warranty will cover it.
89K miles on the car as of this writing.
Thanks. The shutter might be warped front brake rotors?
My thought as well. Thank you
Probably worn front brake rotors
We have the same car and a close mileage number. This car has work wonders for me. I’m thinking to upgrade to a 2020 ex.
Hi could anyone tell me what the ecin more does?
My 2006 model felt much more responsive and much more satisfying to drive.
iDsi vs iVtec totally different characteristics.
2015 with 6 spd manual, tons of torque. Best "sports" car I have ever owned, well except for the 73 240Z.
i want my honda jazz.
My 2017 UK version has rear disc breaks park sensors lane departure warning and a 6 manual trans way better than the American Version
We got lane departure warning in the US market fit for 2018. No rear disc's, parking sensors or climate control
Good points!
In Europe the Jazz has disk brakes all round. I find it stops really well as it's a very light car.
This car is above best
do more cars!
