The MDA Labor Day Telethon was an enchanting yearly variety show that ran for half a century. Hosted for many years by Jerry Lewis, the telethon featured top stars from the world of music, comedy, and Broadway and was like no other show on earth.

@andrewdinkins4480 Exacty Andrew! My mom went to High School with Irene back in the 70s in NYC. How beautiful she looked here in this video! Such a rare talent and beauty! Irene had posted before she passed a few years ago that she wondered who had all this video footage of her. But we all know how that is! I love any and everything Irene! I had such a crush on her as a kid! Lol! RIP to Ms. Cara!
@@jermainecoleman8017 I also loved everything that was Irene. every song, every movie, and every TV show. I am so happy I had the privilege to meet her once in Florida. And recently I got her a obituary sent to me. The day I found out she passed away. I cried so much and all the tributes we’re just very painful to watch. I pray she is at peace. Remember her name.
@@andrewdinkins4480 Andrew how did you go about obtaining it? I hear she was cremated. I don't believe there was a burial for her as per the family wishes. I too broke down when I found out she passed. It just didn't seem like it was her time. When she filmed Sparkle as a teenager, she gave my mom tickets to go see her. Irene had attended Washington Irving H.S. here in NYC back in the 70s and would oftern sing at the school. My mom had like 2-3 classes with her back then. I hope she is at peace as well.
@@jermainecoleman8017 there is a website that you can order it from for $28. I will try to find it for you. Her memorial was canceled but they still allow people to purchase the obituary. It’s a 10 page obituary and it’s beautiful.

Glad,she did the Hot Carmel project, and had her podcast, gave her an opportunity to create her productions, and not have to deal with record companies, who tried to destroy her, can’t believe it’s going to year, thanksgiving will never be the same
@@Bacalao2929 in the 80's. after the BIG success of Flash-Dance/What A Feeling. her record company, manager, accountants, and lawyers...stole $MILLIONS from Irene. she mentioned this on Entertainment Tonight back in 1993. Flash-dance was a song, Irene co-wrote. ONE of the biggest hits of the 80's. and, all time.
So nice when they brought the kids out at the end.
