They always mix and are in fact inseparable. This is actually not a phenomenon about ocean boundries at all.generally whenever fresh water which is of lesser density and light color is introduced into high density and darker colour sea or salt water.due to sediments and density the lighter fresh water remains on top after mixing out much further into the sea. Anyway different parts of oceans also have different densities due to rainfall also.and water near coastal and fresh water areas are vulnerable to harmful pathogens and aquatic organism being introduced into them thru ballast water discharge of marine ships that is why it is a controlled process and only treated ballast water is discharged into these. What I mean to say that colour is due to density difference between fresh and salt water but otherwise also seawater is not same throughout the world.other than that water is inseparable and mixing happens continuously everywhere.if the inflow of fresh and lesser density water stops then after sometime due to intermixing the colour difference will vanish.

In the Gulf of Alaska two oceans come together but the water does not mix. There are two verse in Surah Ar-Rahman in Holy Quran 55:19 , 55:20 that says that: 55:19 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 55:20 Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses.
And it is He who has released [simultaneously] the two seas [i.e. bodies of water], one fresh and sweet and one salty and bitter, and He placed between them a barrier and prohibiting partition

They always mix and are in fact inseparable. This is actually not a phenomenon about ocean boundries at all.generally whenever fresh water which is of lesser density and light color is introduced into high density and darker colour sea or salt water.due to sediments and density the lighter fresh water remains on top after mixing out much further into the sea.
Anyway different parts of oceans also have different densities due to rainfall also.and water near coastal and fresh water areas are vulnerable to harmful pathogens and aquatic organism being introduced into them thru ballast water discharge of marine ships that is why it is a controlled process and only treated ballast water is discharged into these. What I mean to say that colour is due to density difference between fresh and salt water but otherwise also seawater is not same throughout the world.other than that water is inseparable and mixing happens continuously everywhere.if the inflow of fresh and lesser density water stops then after sometime due to intermixing the colour difference will vanish.
