the pact between yuji and sukuna wasn't supposed to be on equal terms, sukuna was leveraging his RCT to revive yuji so he had more bargaining power
not only that but this manga is constantly about world views and perspective. Yuji wasnt thinking of himself when he made that binding vow so when sukuna hurt yuji by ripping the finger it didnt count.
I think you missed the major part of the first take. People only reading from leak nights (not scanlation) and TikTok videos is having a bad effect on the fandom. The culture values getting info quickly, not actually reading, and immediately reacting. How does that serve the story in a good way?

Madara's biggest plot armor is being able to use Kamui on himself while being the 10 tails when Obito couldn't do it while he was 10 tails, even though Obito used it all the time and would be better at using it, AND using the eye that can't transfer the user. He broke two rules without a single explanation at the same time because the plot demanded that he retrieve the other rennigan.
Aizen surviving via the hogkyoku was established BEFORE it saved him, not after. Ichigo only gained power, and was explained BEFORE he arrived.
The difference is that binding vows are excuses made up in the heat of the moment, not set up and then paid off.

It's not just that binding vows are being abused, it's that the axis of fairness is completely made up and used as a handwave by the author. In HxH we found out the ins and outs of restrictions and conditions the moment they are introduced. They're multiplicative, not additive, so your base strength still matters far more. It's not that conditions = power, it's that conditions = resolve and resolve = power. Therefore restrictions that go against your own morals or what you personally value are far more powerful than conditions that are just hard to meet. Curse techniques and their binding vows are poorly conceived. The entire thing is just an excuse to make whatever the author wants to happen to happen without having to face his own inconsistencies.
And just going to throw this out there. Saying that the strongest in the series just know how to game the system is a bigger insult to the setting than anything I've said. Creating a magic system that is so flawed that the people in the setting exploit it like a video game isn't neat or interesting. It's lame. It shows a lack of respect for that entire section of the setting.
tbh, I wish Mahito was the main villain instead of Sukuna.
The jjks fandom biggest issue imo is the spoilers, I haven't seen a community as bad with leaks as them. But it's okay, at least we don't have a p*do problem like the mha community

Plus even if it was the correct eye, Obito couldn't use it while he was the 10 tails and he had a lifetime training with it, but Madara can and instantly? Double plot hole.

Are you really going to dunk on Aizen for using the Hogkyoku as an opposition to Madara? The guy who stole Hashirama's power, then abused the reanimation jutsu power of someone else, then stole Hashirama's sage chakra, then stole the power of the 9 tailed beasts? What's even funnier is that the hogkyoku can only give you what you can personally achieve, so Aizen was just gaining more of his own power, while Madara kept stealing and copying everyone else.

Sukuna doesnt move the plot along? Thats a bad hot take imo. The show would be fundamentally different starting as early as when yuji ate the finger. If sukuna didnt incarnate yuji and megumi would be dead asf. The fingerbearer, Yuji would be straight up dead if sukuna was not there. Had Sukuna not gained interest in Megumi he would be straight up dead when Mahoraga was summoned. Sukuna and Yuji and their dichotomy are what the story is about. Maybe even just teaching Sukuna what love really is and that it isnt worthless. The sukuna side is he doesnt truly understand what love is. It isnt just acknowledgment of their power in their death. Its the willingness to be self detrimental for someone elses benefit like diving on a grenade to save your fellow soldiers. Uruame loves sukuna but sukuna doesnt really get it nor reciprocate the feeling. I hope hakari does kill her/him and Sukuna snaps. I have a feeling that the end will be all about Yuji somehow making sukuna finally do something that isnt self beneficial and it will have to do with fighting the merger. Yuji will teach Sukuna what Yorozu was trying to.

I find it crazy to say side character fights don’t matter because they “don’t move along the plot”. They have to beat them or the plot won’t move. I think every showcase of a character matters. That’s them getting their time to shine on screen and grow their character. The good thing about rereading and rewatching is that you can skip. I get it 150 chapters of side character fights is a lot, but I don’t think it is that bad.
