Godzilla Minus One was awesome. Was almost in tears with the PTSD aspect of the main character. Also my jaw dropped when he did the atomic breath
Same here. Really hard hitting film. Just excellent all around.
Also felt like they managed to pull off a love/hate effect for Godzilla. Despite all he was doing, there were moments where I just felt in awe of him.
Spoilers bruh
Yep and when he threw the boat lol
@@TheGypsyBeastYTthat's literally an ability that he has lol how's that a spoiler
@@mushrooka Wait, Godzilla is in the film?! Spoilers!!!
(I'm just %)@! posting guys, don't take this seriously at all.)
I saw it yesterday in IMAX and it's now my #1 movie this year. Even better to me than Oppenheimer and Spiderverse 2. Also my favorite Godzilla movie ever, and the human characters were all great, especially the main couple
Gotta watch it, if it's praised this high, Spiderverse has gone to my number 1 CBM and favorite movie of the year.
Loved the character growth of the main character in this movie. It was like God sent Godzilla the monster as a way for the main character to find his redemption. Amazing film.
I think it's the best Godzilla film I've ever seen
Hello Sean! I think you’re right! It just hits on all levels. The human story plus Godzilla, beautiful 💯
Minus One and Monarch continue to prove that you can have a great human story to go along with Godzilla. Easily one of my favorite movies of the year!
Exactly! Godzilla 2014 and Kong: Skull Island were decent too but the last two films in the monster verse were simply bad with 0 characters. I always say, no matter what the film is you still need decent characters to move your story. Hopefully the franchise going forward can take that on board
@@joshhunt4146 Totally agree with that! Idk if the characters in GodzillaxKong will be as good as Minus One and Monarch but at least be better than the last two movies.
@@joshhunt4146 THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SOMEONE who recognizes Kong: Skull Island as a decent flick. Literally everyone I know hates that film (and loves the most recent American Godzilla films) and I feel like I'm going insane.
Yes, exactly as you say; you need to put CHARACTERS in your film that you can care about. Skull Island had interesting characters, and I thought Samuel Jackson in particular made a compelling character with an interesting little arc.
@@commandershepard9920 definitely! It’s a fun monster flick and your right, it does have fun characters. Some more generic than others but you care about them. Which is a hell of a lot more than I can say for the last couple films hahaa it’s why I’m really enjoying the show. Characters I can get behind
@@joshhunt4146 I forgot to mention, thanks for mentioning the show. I didn't even know it existed. We don't have Apple TV, but Godzilla might be worth it!
Saw this last night and I was FLOORED. Easily the best Godzilla film. Fantastic visuals, compelling human characters and some of the best Godzilla action we’ve ever gotten.
This is the BEST Godzilla movie I've EVER seen!!! I'm a diehard Godzilla fan and I've seen them all.... this made you feel like you were there!! You were part of all of it!! It was very human and VERY Godzilla!! He was horrifyingly terrifying! And the story was realistic and full of drama!! I've got to see this again and add it to my collection!!
So was there 2 godzilla in this movie

Such a great movie! Couldn’t hold back some tears at the end! My favorite movie of the year hands down! 🙌🏼
Never seen ray so eager to give his out of theater reaction! Can’t wait to watch the film
Ray looks so excited 😂
Seeing it again tomorrow
So glad you both enjoyed… As I mentioned earlier, it’s one of the best movies of the year… Comparing that $15 million budget too much of what I’ve seen this year gives me hope that Hollywood can get it together… It’s not about the end to end effects, but more so the story and impactful action elements. Look forward to hearing more of your thoughts.
Feel the same. I wrote on a post that nobody except the Japanese could have gotten this perfect Godzilla movie right because they REALLY went through the horrors of WWII and invented Godzilla because of it. If they never made another Godzilla movie, I honestly can say I would be ok with that because how do you improve on this? My God, I wasnt expecting to get this emotional seeing it and even after now hours after leaving I'm still getting teary eyed(as were others in the theater). I'll still look forward to the series and American and Japanese movies, but I won't expect perfection like this. This movie and those who made it and acted in it deserve whatever the Japanese "Oscars" are, even Oscars, especially for acting and writing, but would they ever do that? Probably not. Who would even have believed this incredible level of a Godzilla movie before today??? Makes me so happy!😭💜
@@tombeh perfectly stated- such a wonderful movie going experience. And at the end did you feel that silence before the big moment?! Was deafening and had me on edge of seat. The score was perfect too. Glad to hear you enjoyed so much. And all this for $20 million?!?!?!
This had better get some awards man. The acting and the soundtrack were phenomenal.
This is my pick for film of the year. Absolutely incredible, I can’t wait to see it again
Saw it Wednesday in Dolby and wanted to so badly to see it again tonight but couldn't so I'm going to catch it in IMAX next week. One of the best movies of the year imho, great godzilla, great human story, i found this to be very tear jerking.
The smile from Ray tells me everthing.
loved this film, undeniably one of my top 5 movies of the year
Amazing film! It’s very hard for me to argue against it being the best Godzilla movie ever. Easily some of the best humans.
Best Godzilla, hands down. I tried so hard to not cry twice in the theater. Bring me 5 more of these please!
I saw it last night in IMAX. It was awesome and really good character moments. Like you said, a really good movie all around.
I loved how the beginning gave me original Jurassic Park vibes
It wears its influences on its sleeve for sure, using the best of Jaws, Jurassic Park, and hell even the original Star Wars.
As a Japanese , I am proud of this movie, the director, scrip, music, Godzilla, and all of you loving the movie!!!!! It was awesome and really liked it. This is our movie!!!
Seeing Ray’s smile was everything!
Every video of yours just keeps getting better
I will be watching it tomorrow!
It's a shame this isn't showing where I live but I'm glad you both enjoyed it.
This is the best Godzilla film. Emotional Human element + 🦎 fire. Ending tears, every one in the theater 😢.👍👍
Ray is so happy! And you can see he wanted to say more! So glad guys you liked it!!!!!
Nice to see that you enjoyed it. I just watched it myself and was quite impressed with the human drama.
I’m definitely gonna see this in IMAX!
I'm so happy y'all like it. I was really nervous about this one. Super proud of Ray not falling asleep once. Imma re-watch it today with silent night double Feature.
Went to the 5pm showing, it's the best godzilla movie I ever seen, I'm a huge godzilla fan this movie is super amazing
I LOVED this movie.
I saw it last night myself and throughly enjoyed it. It had a lot of heart and a monstrous Godzilla. Probably the best one I’ve seen in over 30 years.
the budget for this movie was 15 million dollars. Let that sink in. Better than any of the monsterverse movies from Legendary, and it's not even close.
You could just feel the destruction in your seat. The effects were incredible. The score was amazing.
Just got back. This one is an instant classic.
Just got out of seeing it myself and I agree with everything you said this was a fantastic movie I might go watch again.
The production budget on this film is outstanding too.
Only 15 Million and they do SO MUCH with it!
@@JosephDutrait’s a lot cheaper to make a movie in Japan in comparison to in America
@JosephDutra well it's funny, because it's not technically $15 million USD right, it's just the "equivalent", so we do have to take that into consideration. But holy shit, there HAS TO BE something that Hollywood can adopt or take notes from.
This movie is for everyone!!
Best movie of the year for me! Emotional man and seemed more real world if that even makes sense loved it all! That blast was absolutely amazing
Need to book my ticket to watch this!
I agree, love some concept of the older Godzilla including 2014 and Shin...but THIS has to be the best one yet. Japan took back GODzilla and made it what it should've been again. 💯
We saw this last night and loved it!! Beautiful story and I cried!! Scary too just amazing
I LOVE THIS MOVIE!! It was amazing!
Gojira 👍👍.....better than hollywood godzilla movies 😊😊
John, this movie was produced using a Budget of less than Twenty-Five million, only in Japan 🇯🇵!!!
I'll see it in exactly 8 hours from now.
Papa John taking his kid Ray to see a kaiju movie.
Hi John, I’m visually impaired. Do you know if they’re doing a dub for this film subtitles are not my friend lol I would like to see it in theaters.
Rays face say it all! Can't wait to watch it!!!
Rey looks so happy. Like a little child during christmas
I hope this movie will release in Indonesia 😊😊
Proof a monster movie needs a good human story
Just went today and I was just floored! It was in a smaller 90ish seat theater with maybe a dozen people and several of them were still or had been crying by the end, including me. I'm even getting verklempt thinking about it. The story and characters were that great! I've been a fan since I was a little kid in the 60s and 70s and it was always goofy/scary fun(except the very first one was very serious) but I was always hoping for something more, I just didn't know exactly what it was, until today. I don't think anyone else except the Japanese people could have made this type of movie "feel this way" because the PTSD was all too real for the whole country. I'm so happy that someone finally got it 100% right. Ok, the feels are coming back. 😢 Go see this before it leaves theaters!
I've got my ticket for tonight. I'm so hyped!
haha! Ray is so happy, you can tell he loved this movie!
Ray looked like he was eyeballing to fight someone offscreen in the beginning 😂
Glad the film is getting the attention it deserves! Might not do well initially but hopefully word of mouth helps 👏🏻
I'm only hearing great things about this movie, definitely gonna watch when it launches in the UK on December 15th.
If Ray stayed awake I’m in lol. I can’t wait to watch it
I love Godzilla movies, and can't wait to see this. Glad to hear it is good.
I saw it last night, its Phenomenal . It’s not only the best Godzilla movie ,its one of the best movies this year. A Godzilla movie where I was invested in humans Goddamnn I never thought I would see something like this . Godzilla was terrifying when he appeared on screen and the music “Chef’s Atomic Kiss”. Can’t wait to hear your in depth review on the show .
I'm a casual Godzilla fan too.
I genuinely think this movie is Oscar nomination worthy. The very least it deserves a “Best Foreign Language Film” nomination, the writing is INCREDIBLE!!
Can you explain how they were able to shoot this movie for $35 MILLION and make it look like they spent $135 MILLION DOLLARS!! ?? WTF 😧
Nice, the true rampaging Godzilla, not the cheesy protector Godzilla!!
Yay! I’m so happy you guys liked it. Agreed, Monster aside I’m still thinking about the human story. Never have I ever with a “G-Zilly” film.
Why does Ray have on gloves in la
That awesome
Awesome movie, saw it in a great theater. My only disappointment is that 90% of the Godzilla action you see in the movie was shown in the trailers.
I've stopped watching trailers all together the past few years. I even keep my earbuds in and look at my phone during trailers at the movies. Some completely ruin everything!
I really wish for this movie to be a huge success so we keep getting more kaiju movies from japan❤
Already is in Japan
We just watched it too. It was so fkin awesome.
Drinking game: every time you hear Fun from John
This is a DAMN good movie!!! Waaaaay better then USA version
You should watch the original and Shin Godzilla as well, they're similar, and also GMK if you want to see arguably the best Godzilla movie in which Godzilla fights other monsters.
Omg !! WOW WAS EASILY THE BEST GODZILLA AND ALL MONSTER MOVIES OF ALL TIME FOR ME !!
godzilla 98 still my guilty pleasure but this was great
Minus one is definitely the best Godzilla film in the past 10 years. John if you think Godzilla movies are how you described them you should look up some of the best and check them out cause they're a far cry from what you said. There's a lot more that are akin to this movie than people realize cause the public perception of Godzilla is that they're always just silly guy in a suit smashing a lego village and they're really not. The sub vs dubs are DRASTICALLY different not just the dialogue but the whole movies are edited differently I found out years ago so they play totally different. A lot of the subs are played a lot more serious while the dubs are cheesy, the biggest example I remember is Godzilla vs The Thing (Mothra) the sub and the dub are two totally different movies.
I heard the director of the American Godzilla films felt jealous when he saw it.
Tell me that wasn't cancer. Deserves to live a long, happy life.
Sucks that Wednesday & Thursday were the only days to see it in premium screens (IMAX & Dolby) since Beyonce's movie is taking over... Im glad i went Wednesday & saw it on IMAX, if it was still available i would go again
EVERY SINGLE REVIEW that I've seen for _"Godzilla Minus One"_ has either called this _THEE BEST _"GODZILLA" MOVIE EVER MADE_ and/or _THEE SCARIEST VERSION OF "GODZILLA" THAT THEY'VE EVER SEEN..._
...and I pretty sure I've seen everybody give this movie🎬 their highest or second highest score
Now I want to see it _EVEN MORE THAN I DID BEFORE!_
What does everyone else think about this movie?🎬 🐲
Genuinely a great film
They look cold it's probably 74 in Cali
When they say they’re not a big fan of Godzilla, how dare you not be a fan of one of the cinemas greatest icons
Campea's the kind of guy who pronounces guys as "jize".
Absolutely could be the best Godzilla film! I said the same thing walking out of my theater Wednesday night.
I saw guys all minus one on Wednesday! Ray is correct. Godzilla was absolutely fucking terrifying! I’ve seen every Godzilla movie I’ve seen many movies where he was fun. Funny, playful, silly a good guy I’ve seen movies. He was a bad guy destructive unstoppable. Nothing seem to hurt him. Funny thing wasn’t this movie as you saw in the trailers he could be hurt a little bit but they clarify that with something that you mentioned in every Godzilla movie but they show it in this one much faster so Godzilla has been scary in movies in a way, but I’ve never been scared of Godzilla until this movie, this movie scared the shit out of me!
Just picture Rambo dressed up as Batman after being bit by Cujo with full-blown rabies !
It was kind of like that in a way the movie was fantastic. I loved it. I cared about the characters! I didn’t cry at the end, because I’m a man and Godzilla was watching me to see if I had tears in my eyes :-) loved it. Can’t wait to see it again.
is this what "prey" was for Predator franchise? Prey was awesome
Do you guys think they’ll eventually come out with dubbed version like Shin Godzilla?
It should eventually like Shin Godzilla
Yessssssss!!!!!
Oscar for this one...G-zilla has it coming.
I loved this movie. Godzilla is Amazing. Make sure you stay through the end credits. Godzilla is the King of the Monsters. Watching Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters. Can't wait for Godzilla x Kong next April.
Love to see it but need a dub version for my young kids
Cost 15 million to make lol
Music to my ears. Hollywood should take a lesson and stop spending 200m+ on their movies
"Ok Juys"
The best 👍
"Ok Jeyes" 💀💀💀
Is this movie related to the Apple TV series "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters" or something different?
No
Oppenheimer is the perfect film to watch before watching Godzilla Minus One cause the Japanese created Godzilla as a result of the Atomic Bomb.
オッペンハイマー観たいのに日本では公開予定が無いのよね😢
