Idk why ppl so mad about his vote… Courtois is genuinely insane, but he hasn’t been in CL/Euro final so everyone don’t even consider him. There were no insane-insane mids those year, but Pedri, Modric and Barella were the most consistent ones. Others are obvious tbf

@@mufcgeorge1878 Kante hasn’t been consistent at all, he’s injured all the fucking time. Since it’s a team of the year it should be based off of their performance over a whole year, not a few top class performances.

I think people look at the TOTY differently. Some people do it as who has been the most consistent this year, which numbers wise would automatically make them the best
But some people do it as who DESERVES to be in it regardless of maybe 2-3 bad games and injuries

@critter critter tbf I only disagree with Courtois (Donnarumma), Modric (Kante), & possibly Pedri (Muller) & Rudiger (Marquinhos). Yet with that being said, Pedri’s overalls performances would merit a TOTY over the likes of KDB, Bruno etc (despite them being more popular). Likewise, Rudiger was consistently performing and a centerpiece of that Chelsea team so it wouldn’t be undeserving (even though I think Marquinhos edges him in ability).

KDB was injured most of the beginning of the year while Pedri has the most appearances of any players in 2021. Why would the last month make a difference?
