I've worked retail, I can relate.
I actually did receive a free pin from a cast member back in 2015. She had a zodiac pin and I traded for it. I was so excited to start a new collection. Later that evening, same cast member stopped me and gave me another zodiac pin just because she loved our conversation we had earlier that evening (something about her being from New Zealand and Im from Australia) and was excited that she helped me start a new collection. Definitely my favorite magic moment ever from a cast member!
There was a meet and greet with chip and dale someone goes “look there’s Alvin and one of his chipmunks “🤦♀️🤷🏼♀️
I saw a video of the night parade in Tokyo Disney and the person who uploaded it typed in some of the names of the characters featured on the floats as they went by and on one of the final floats was Chip and Dale and on the bottom of the screen read “Alvin and the Chipmunks” 💔😱😭🤒🤧😷🙃☠️

@@23daughters I as an American have to defend the NHS with all its drawbacks. 12% GDP covers all and in USA 18% covers partial. Good value in UK. Canada does a great job too in keeping people healthy for value. Emily’s imagination and enthusiasm is keeping all of us healthy!

😂😂 I had a similar situation working in the Christmas store round by Muppets. It was 2 mins before Indiana Jones was due to start and the guest was rushing me to finish up their order so they could make it....I had to politely tell them the show would have been full at least 10 minutes ago anyway 🙈

That is hilarious but it is actually quite sad for me because it just makes me think about how back in the day all four parks had their own parades, and as time went on Disney has reduced it to just MK having a parade (and only a daytime parade, at that. Cuz there’s not even a night parade right now)

Love these questions, haha. I used to work cleaning tables at larger events, and you can't imagine how often old men asked me to dance with them. 'I'm sorry sir, I would much rather do the chicken dance with you than wash these dishes but I don't think my boss would appreciate it.'
This is such a smart idea!! Haha everyone should write down all the things guests say to them 😂 the one that would always drive me crazy at Epcot is when people would ask me how to get to “Disney World” (meaning magic kingdom) ...like umm you’re here!!

Oh my goodness, I love this! I worked at Disney about 10-15 years ago and it took everything I had sometimes to not reply to stupid questions with a snappy come back!!!

I work at Star Tours and my favorite question is “Oh! This is a ride??” Yes. Yes it is. That is why I stopped your twenty inch child from walking more than a foot into my queue as I stand next to my height stick and a sign that gives all the ride warnings.

The thing with Disneyland annoys me so much and yes people need to research before they go. I’m a travel agent and I get so many stupid questions and comments and I have to smile and be nice instead of laughing or being sarcastic
The amount of stupid questions people ask, I'd lose a few brain cells just listening to them and trying super hard not to give a sassy response

I have a funny story! I worked DCP Hollywood Studios F&B back in 2012. I have a disability on my right arm called cerebral palsy which inhabits the use of my right arm. Because of this, I was allowed to wear a splint on my arm to be able to use it to more of an extent. Every day, I'd print out some receipt paper and keep tally of how many times people asked "what's wrong with your arm" or "what's wrong with you" and the like. Of course I'd tell them politely, but it killed me every time. I know that most of the time they meant no harm, but it gets exhausting having to say something 30-40 times per day. Love your videos, keep up the great work!
You'll get that EVERYWHERE - ALL THE TIME - FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE (f you wear any of your braces that is). I'm in a boot, have been since 2012, and will be for quite some time (way too long of a story to explain - I basically need my ankle replaced but they can't do it until I'm much older bc they're not as advanced in ankle replacements as they are with knee/hip. They don't last as long, are very risky and complicated and each revision gets more invasive, dangerous, risky and difficult to do!! I also need my knee replaced!! That's the super short version!!). I get questions everywhere I go, all the dang time. They're never satisfied with a short answer like I just gave you - they want to know everything and keep asking questions until they feel satisfied. I have trouble saying I don't want to answer they're questions or putting an end to it, especially if they're older than me which a lot of ppl who ask me about it are!! So I get stuck talking to strangers for incredibly long times telling them about my health as a result. I know they all mean well, they're curious and want to understand and they're being empathetic. I know they mean no harm and that they don't realize they're prying. So, buckle up, you'll be dealing with this quite a lot more!! ❤️❤️

As a grocery store worker, the number of times people have pointed to an item with a “Sale” sticker on the label and they ask “Is this for sale?” is astounding!
When it comes to boys or girls shirts... well maybe more women-men, I like wearing man T-shirts but they always have to be over size because the neck hole is so tight it makes me feel uncomfortable (probaly beause of the chest just having different shape or whatever), and women shirts tend to have bigger neck holes (probably because of the booby space) and hat's why I ask at shops if the shirt is for females or males so I know if I have to buy a HUUGE one just not to have this weird choking feeling.

I want to see it & I don’t want to wait till it’s uploaded onto my MDE app” “can you sneak me into galaxy’s edge?” “We left their favorite ______________ toy at the hotel, can you give them a free one?”
Epcot: “where can I get the annual pass holder magnet? no I’m not a pass holder but I want it” “um hi yes, im looking for food and wine festival stuff, yes I know it’s flower and garden but I want food and wine festival items.” “Is that little section supposed to be Africa?”(no ma’am these are all countries and Africa is a continent....)
MK(Main Street): “what time is the 3pm parade?” “Is that the wire tinker bell flies down?”(no ma’am! That’s prince Henry’s satellite cable so he can watch ESPN) “so tell me...what are the tunnels like?” “Oh...do you know the individuals name playing _____ character?” “Excuse me- I want to watch the fireworks, but I have a fast pass and dinner reservation at that time, can you tell them to push back the fireworks until _______ time?”
But my all time favorites... : “where are the passholder exclusive items?” “Um excuse me, I’m a passholder- I deserve XYZ” “hi can I get a no strings?” “I want you to give me a magical moment” “I paid x amount of money and you will give me what I want” or when the store is closed and you have guest knocking saying it’ll be just a quick second that this is the only thing they’ve wanted all day and they’ve waited till an hour and a half after park close to grab it and “it’ll only take 2 seconds”

The Confusion my husband went to UCF for graduate school, his MBA!! I know that's not what you're asking, but just thought I'd comment as my husbands an alumni!! He didn't have time to work anywhere during that program, he did the one year intensive expedited MBA and boy was it intense! He didn't have time to do anything but school and study!! Lol. Yea my father is always asking the free question when something's not marked... he thinks he's funny. That and anytime someone ask him if they can get him anything else? He always responds with "a stack of hundreds" again he thinks he's funny....

I think ppl do it bc they're a little nervous, to lighten the mood and also trying to not feel like they're bothering the person working so much. I worked in retail and I know it can be annoying and you hear it a lot, but the ppl who say it are really harmless and are trying to make you smile during your shift or are nervous for whatever reason. It's such a small annoyance compared to so many other things going on in life and the world, you learn how to brush off and not get all bothered by simple things like this as you get older.

I work at a craft store that has a LOT of green in their branding and without fail, every single day, at least ONE PERSON will come up to me with a cartfull of floral picks and tell me they want the price for every single item. THe floral picks have prices ON THEIR TAGS. Of course I can't say that because it's rude, so I remind them where they can find the pick prices(either on the end of the tag or just above the barcode) and tell them the price as I scan them. On those days I lose my voice since I can't talk for very long.

I just got back from WDW and, going solo, I decided to make this a photo vacation, since I get photopass with my AP and my daughter and son don’t like stopping more than once or twice per Park for photos. I had stopped for pictures with Mickey and Minnie at MK and one photo (the group hug photo) came out really well. The next day, at AK Adventure Post, I showed the picture from MK to the Cast member standing next to the photographers she would ask Mickey and Minnie to post the same way. She did, but explained to them in such a way as asking them to remember me from yesterday and remembering the pose. Actually, I thought that was cute.
One time that I thought that a Cast Member went overboard was when Pandora opened up and they were selling those birds that have controls for movement. They were out of them and I asked the CM when they would be receiving more in. She explained that there were a new batch of eggs that were in incubation and they would have more once they hatched. At that, I rolled my eyes and said that I would check back. You have to admire the Disney mystic.

I did DCP at WDW in Fall 2015 working Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and PAC. I’m now married and have 2 kids and we go to DLR at least once a year (since my mom now lives in Anaheim). I love watching videos to reminisce. I don’t remember what reminded me of this one guest experience, but something you said did. I haven’t thought about it in years. But this guest came up to me while I was at greeter checking heights and stuff. There was a crowd of people forming to get into the stand by line because it was long and I had just had an issue explaining to a family why their child couldn’t ride the ride since they were too short. But this guest skips around the crowd to me and asks me “how do I get to Space?”
Not space mountain, just space. I mean CMs and regular Disney goers cal it Space, but they know where it is. I had to explain 3 times (maybe more) that Space Mountain is in the other side of the park and how to get there. And I explained they needed to get to closer to the castle to get to Tomorrowland and they freaked out because they didn’t want to go to the castle (or Fantasyland I’m assuming).
Such as great video idea! Hard to believe some people ask those type of questions.

I'm sorry. I had to chuckle a few time at some of the dumb questions. Specially do you work here? 😂😂😂 which I had that very same question ask years ago when I worked at the recycling center in the town I live in. I wanted to tell then I'm not wearing this uniform with my name on it with the towns logo for my health. Don't worry I didn't really say that. I turned and smiled because I had my back to the door where residents come in to drop off recycling.

I’m from Italy and worked at the Italy Pavilion at Epcot. I think I got a asked if I spoke English 3-4 times a day. I was like yes it is one of the many languages I can speak. I miss those days as a ICP. This was back in 2002. I lived in The Commons. My roommates are still some of my best friends today. I didn’t link up with anyone before hand (by choice). So I let them place me random and I think that was the best decision ever. We had a 2 bedroom 4 person. Good times.

I was a CP in spring of 2013 and worked at DAK as custodial. My friend was on a trash run and I was helping her out since it was the last one of the day. An older gentlemen and his family came up to us and asked if there were any reptiles in the park because his son loved reptiles. I told him most of the parks reptiles were found in Rafikis planet watch but the part of the park was closed. This was when DAK closed around 5:30-6 and DAK just recently had lost the Komodo dragon. I ended up saying that there was an alligator/Crocodile? In Dinoland. He got really excited and said “ooooo dinoland!? So is there like dinosaurs in Dinoland?......”yes there’s “dinosaurs” in Dinoland and there’s a few rides over there that the kids can ride on”. He stopped me and asked us if they can see the dinosaurs. I was a little confused but told him yes you can see dinosaurs on the ride dinosaur and explained to him what the ride was about and how you travel back in time. He then asks us if the dinosaurs were real and if you could actually pet them and ride them. My friend and I tried really hard to not burst out laughing but explained to him that they were animatronics and that the ride did not allow guests to ride or pet any of the dinosaurs. We told one of our leaders who got a real good laugh about it and told us we should have said “yes the dinosaurs are real. Did you ever see Jurassic park?? We did that here in Disney! But you gotta be careful because sometimes the dinosaurs escape and eat some of the guests!”
When I went to Disneyland I saw a cast member with a cool pin and I really wanted it but I didn’t have any pins so I was kinda sad but I knew how training works so I knew I wouldn’t get it. My family stopped to talk to them and I complemented the pin (and probably said I was sad I didn’t have anything to trade for it) and they gave it to me! It made me feel really happy and it’s my favorite pin to this day. Naturally you should never expect that though, just wanted to share my story 😁
When I was in parking at Magic it was like an hour and a half past park close and I had a guest come up to me and asked if I could retrieve his car for him like a valet. He was dead serious and expected that I do it. I had another guest ask if the parking lot trams went to Epcot. It took them way longer than what should have been necessary for them to understand the monorail goes to Epcot not the tram. I think I had to explain the differences between the monorail and the tram. Also per like 100 people 4 of them don't remember where they parked.
“Where is the bathroom?”

Two true stories. I never worked for Disney, but once I was standing out in front of Mexico, and people thought I worked there. About 20 people asked me which way to El Rio Del Tiempo. The second one was someone asked me where is Walt Disney World while in the Magic Kingdom.

How realistic is World Showcase UK?
Some bits are, but like all of Disney it’s kind of a romanticised storybook version of reality 😅
I work at a movie theater and as you probably know we don’t play every single film released especially at my smaller sized theater, so we don’t play every indie film released and as soon as a new big blockbuster film is released we get rid of films that have been out for a long time.
Guest: “Can we go see a star is born”
(It’s been out for like 3 months)
Me: “I’m sorry but we no longer have a Star is born”
Guest: “Uhhh but your website says you do”
(The guest is obviously annoyed)
Me: “I’m sorry but that’s the theater 18 about 10-15 minutes down the road”
Guest: “Well why don’t you have it?”
Me: “Because it’s been out for a few months and we can’t keep every movie forever”
Guest: “But it just came out”
Me: “No, I’m sorry, but it came out 3 months ago”
Guest: “Well when are you showing it again?”
Me: “ I’m sorry, we won’t”
(And then they just stand there as if I’m going to give them a private screening of the movie just for them all because they are explaining to me why they haven’t seen it yet in a annoyed tone.)
Guest: “let me see your manager or supervisor because you obviously don’t know what you are talking about.”
Me: “ma’am I am the supervisor and I have been if for a roughly a year and a half and I’m sorry but that’s just how our theater, and most theaters, operate if we wish to stay in business. Now I can direct you to the theater 18 and maybe even help you look at the times or I can find another film for you to watch at this establishment.”
It usually ends with the customer pulling up their big kid pants and admitting defeat or I just get our on staff manager to take care of it. Customers can be so rude and ignorant of the world
The question you received about the “world” show may have been about Illuminations. They may have been referring to the globe that comes out during the show but not have known the name of it. I work in retail and customers ask questions like this all the time. They don’t know the name for something so they make one up or just describe something like you can read their minds. If I can read minds I would be rich. Oh and by the way you are always welcome here in America despite how the other guest made you feel!

Your videos along with others make me want to go back to Disney. I’m going on September but that is not soon enough. Now for tough decisions: either flight training or a second trip to Disney earlier not both. I am just too addicted to Disney. Thank you to people like you. The CMs are all great and that is the number one reason I come back so much!

You get the "remove the tag so X doesn't know how much I spent" pretty much all the time in regular retail. Also...tbh I understand the world showcase confusion LMAO especially if they know nothing about Disneyworld.
I think Disney likes the English accent in their stores because it seemed most of the English DCP were retail. Also if a guest said something about you going back to England, I think they were not really wanting you to leave. That’s an odd comment so maybe insecurity of some sort on their part. Who knows, maybe they or a relative didn’t make the cut themselves? EVERYONE watching this want more EMILY IN THE USA!

What IS the difference between a castle and a palace? i.e. Buckingham Palace vs Edinburgh Castle.
Castles were more built and used to defend against attacks/war while palaces are a leisurely place royalty can call home e.g. the Queen's official residence is Buckingham Palace. Obviously that doesn't really translate to Cinderella's Castle at WDW but they should still get the name right I think 😏

I actually lost my badge on Star Tours and the cast-member gave me hers since she said 'Someone found this just now' .... I'm guessing it was probably (?) mine anyways but it made a sad 16 year old super happy that she then took me back to hunt for it just in case... and found a second so sent me off with hers all 'Well, now we switched and yours can be all shiny' which was so sweet.
My friend is curently on the DCP and works merch at dinoland in Animal kingdom and he got asked were the jungle cruise is.

I didn't have a stupid question, but rather a stupid thought : I was 7 years old and it was my first time on Pirates of the Caribbean. I was very school smart, but not common sense smart. I saw the fire effects in the ride and immediately figured out how they did it. Two minutes later, we got stuck at the scene where the pirates are drunk and shooting at each other and I got scared because I thought they were going to shoot me. 🤦♀️
I was working Fantasyland merchandise one evening and got asked about the DCP as her son was interested so we were talking about it and then she says 'I've heard the housing for over 21s is just orgies every night' this was quite loudly in a store full of kids and I had to politely explain to her that I had never heard or experienced this in Disney Housing and she walked away :/
lol what the heck?!! That's like people who stand in line to meet the characters and say how someone they know "was" Cinderella or "is" Mickey Mouse I'm like guys STOP.
Ok I do honestly understand the question of “is ToT a scary ride”. Like, I get it, the person was probably genuinely wanting to know if it REALLY is scary.....if that makes sense
I work in a travel agency and I can not even tell you how many people want to go to Disney/Universal and they just don’t even have a clue. An example: one time while quoting universal tickets I asked the customer if they planned to go to one or both parks and they said, “I want to go to the one with the castle that’s always in the commercials. You know, the blue and white one.” Sigh.
Eurgh I don’t know if I could handle not snapping at them 😂😂

I used to work for Clinton cards, I would regularly get asked if we sold bin bags or newspapers 🤦♀️ one lady spent approx 60p on a bow and asked for £50 cash back..... it’s a card shop, we don’t do cash back fml!!!

While I understand your frustration, I also think you are a little harsh on some of the guests...I'm sure there was a time when you did not know as much, and had some questions that others would have called dumb.
This was not intended to cause any offence and just a funny video. As I said at the start, everyone gets Disney theme park brain and I get it! These were just my experiences and take on them ☺️
Brian thank you, I was thinking the same thing. I watched another one of her videos. And thought "I hope I dont encounter any cast member like her. Disney is expensive and once in a life time for someone like me. I hope I get great cast members, not so concerned with themselves.
This is a totally sincere question and I mean no disrespect whatsoever. Couldn't you have called the store in Epcot, given them her credit card number and had them send the purse to the front of the park? When I worked in retail we would often call other stores and have them send the merchandise to the customers.
No unfortunately it’s an Epcot park exclusive bag so they need/want the guest to actually visit there to get it!

Great video. When I was on my CP at Disneyland. The ones I got the most was ehen does the 7 o'clock parade start or where can I catch the Main Street Electrical parade (Totally ageing myself😁) And you just smile and say oh the 7 o'clock parade starts at 7 so find your spot at least an hour bedore. And the best place to view the parade would be around the front of Slleping beauty castle or right along Main Street. I also haad a number of guest ask me if they can go bakstage with me...ummm sure and risk losing my job...yes let me sneak you in. Or can you tell me how much money is in your cash till. Live your channel!

I loved working there actually ☺️ across 6 months these were all the worst questions and I’ve made many other videos about the magical moments I got to make and how much I loved it! So I don’t think I can be classed as ungrateful when most of this channel has been dedicated to showcasing how fun it was! Feel free to check those ones out instead for something positive ☺️
