courtney and the go-betweens represent the best in australian songwriting. this is great. as an american, though, i don't get the love for cold chisel... they're... really bad
@@iannaification Granted, in hindsight it's probably not fair to compare Cold Chisel with Courtney and the Go-Betweens. It's like comparing AC/DC with The Smiths or Van Halen with R.E.M. I only mentioned Cold Chisel because I found them pretty quickly when I started diving into Australian music, and was surprised at how big they are. Chalk it up to their being a home grown product, I suppose. And they must still be huge: soon after I found out about Cold Chisel I asked a couple of 40-something Australians about them when I was visiting San Francisco a few years ago... They immediately broke out into a rendition of Khe Sanh, right there in the bar...
I'm not a big Chisel fan but they are great at what they do and given that Don Walker , Ian Moss and Jimmy Barnes all had very successful solo careers you can't deny they had something. Maybe check out Dons band Tex, Don & Charlie.
Awesome, simply awesome. You’ve done the band proud. Loved it
big go betweens fans here and this is a decent cover, fair play to them for attempting it,
just great, the best since the original--goosebumps down under
Brilliant
Shine 😊
Nicely done. @RobertForster, check this out!
