    I purchased my machine in 2018 and had to replace the top board last year. I can verify that after verifying my problem with the service tech. I had a new board in a couple of days on the five year guarantee. The removal of the old board and installation of the new one was easy and straight forward and was a success. Thanks Everlast.

      We just recently announced that we will cover shipping both ways moving forward. All machines purchased after Jan 1 2022 will be covered for 5 years, both ways. Even then, this option gives customers the opportunity to have shorter down times during warranty repair.

      @@everlastgenerator You might reach out to Louis Rossmann, he is a big advocate of what you are doing and has 1.71M subscribers .
      Another benefit of diy home repair is that the machine avoids rough handling of shipping. There is no piece of equipment that is "better" after being drop kicked by the shipping company.
      If I needed a welder I would buy yours based on your diy friendly repair policy alone.

      @@everlastgenerator after a diagnosis process, the decision will be made whether to offer the customer to attempt a self-repair or not. If a self-repair is not an appropriate solution, and if it’s during the first three years of ownership of an IGBT unit, or the first year of ownership with a MOSFET unit, the unit will be returned at Everlast’s expense. A return label will be provided during the warranty process. If it is after this initial time period of ownership and for the duration of the warranty, the customer is responsible for the cost of the return.

    couldn't register on your forums to ask my question, so asking here - I have a 10+ year old Powerpro205 (single phase) that lost high power output once I dipped the tungsten (shorted out) at a start of a weld right as it was about to engage the high power output, not the first time I had shorted it by accidentally touching work with tungsten, but this time there were consequences greater than just cutting and regrinding the tungsten, HF still works like it should in DC and AC modes, just that there is no high current output in any of the welding modes (haven't tried plasma)
    I'm guessing spares for these older gen machines aren't available any more?
    I found an overall basic block diagram, but would like to ask if there is a more detailed layout of the particular machine in some manual - which board is doing what, I'm not asking for board circuit diagrams, but would be nice to know general layout since it is a bit birds nest in there... could save me a bit of time diagnosing the fault

    I have a problem and question. I broke the amperage adjusting push button rotary encoder on my Everlast PowerArc 200 STi. It is on the DSPV1 board. I believe its an incremental type with maybe 28 or so pulses per revolution. I desoldered the broken one and ready to solder in a new one. But, I dont know the specs or manufacturer info. I would greatly appreciate any help.

    My PowerTig 200DX has failed. Not sure which board is bad, but some of it works, I'm guessing it's a top board. Display always displays 30 amps, ac/dc and tig/stick switches cause audible relay clicks. There's no weld output, no hf freq output, none of the pots change anything. Can you assist?

    I strongly recommend adding a safety element to this video....*unplug the machine*, *discuss stored energy hazards* (ie., inverter capacitors holding energy long after being powered down etc), avoiding having two hands on the chassis as much as possible/practical. One might also address contamination concerns when opening and working in an electronic enclosure. Mainly avoiding dropping *anything* into chassis, screws, metal dust, small pieces of wire etc., as well as clearing all loose screws from the work (inventory fasteners etc.).

    So removing the clips are easier said than done if coated with that red adhesive. I had to remove with needle nose pliers, which is probably a big no-no with ICBs. Shipping a little plastic removal tool would have made the job easier.

    On comment was "Excellent customer service"? Is this the same company that promised me three months turn around time? Never offered me a "purchase parts" option. Told me my machine was old (8 years). Shipping would have been almost $200 both ways. Diagnosis over the phone was never an option only reply was "send it in". Everlast never did confirm it was even fixable, because it was so old! Full discloser, My situation was a year ago.
    I sold the machine for parts and never looked back. Purchased a new Blue Machine and will never, I repeat, never go back. In my opinion, Everlast is an Oxymoron. I do hope others have better experiences. The video doesn't give the price of the replacement board. Always interested in what they leave out. This self service is obviously an newer option as it the free repair shipping. I suspect the expensive and slow customer service was affecting sales. Sure did keep me from purchasing another.

    • @marklugo6002
      @marklugo6002 Před 2 lety +1

      Wait till that blue fails 3 and a half years out. Or even 5 and no parts, or stuck waiting 6 months or indefinitely. Yes, it happens all the time with the other brands and is one reason Everlast gets so many converts. Blue won't confirm if it is fixable either. But when you are told to send it in for repair, then that means it should be fixable. If you think it won't happen and doesn't with other brands, then that is showing a true lack of experience and an untested understanding. As far as the 8 year old machine or so, did you realize that the name brands begin to obsolete parts about that time frame, and if you can get them they are 4 to 5 times higher than an equivalent part on Everlast? And that part, just one main board is sometimes 1/2 to 3/4 the price of a new unit? That doesn't include the costs of shipping and diagnosis, which you will bear the brunt of either. They do that so customers will buy a new one. Sure...they have parts... lol. No one wants to buy them... they just junk their units and go with Everlast. Everlast gets customers all the time this happens to. I guess that is a moot point, because it is obvious you didn't realize that. As far as that generation of machine you had goes, it has several possibilities for several of the main parts and it is not possible to confirm which exact one you need unless the unit is in hand. Anything 2015 and before (and in some cases 2016) did not have the same type design. Most parts were analog and had to be soldered or repaired on board to make a fix. That is one reason Everlast transitioned to all digital control and standardized parts between models. Even after the switch to digital it took time to modulize the parts between models so repairs would be more simple. This is a culmination of years of working and improving the unit.
