I absolutely agree with you about wearing vintage perfumes at any age even in your early 20s. Back in my time we did it very often. I still remember one of the most famous girls in our university (circa 1996), who was always very well informed about the new fashion trends and would wear mostly designers' clothes, but her signature perfume was Guerlain, Shalimar (1925). As for me, I remember wearing Estee Lauder, Youth Dew (1953) during winter and Chanel Cristalle EdT (1974) during spring and summertime. As you see, most vintage perfumes never fall out of fashion.

Hi, thank you so much for watching my videos. Yes vintage perfumes are classic, timeless, and eternal in some ways. I always associate perfumes with some time and special memories of my life. And sometime, when I walk in the streets of Paris, I smell some perfumes that remind me of an emotion or a feeling. It is like the little madeleine of Proust..... I love Chanel Cristalle and I find it perfect for summer and very tropical weather...

Again the wonderful choices! Diva and Ysatis. I wish more women’s choices are like these :)
Amarige is also beautiful and it’s good to know you appreciate it.
I wore Diva before and found it too animalic. Maybe because I encountered it during my early perfume years. However, Diva shares the same aura as Coco and Knowing. Splendid animalic chypre!
On Ysatis, I have the newer version and the vintage with the metallic cap. Not much differences and I agree that it’s one of the more restrained Givenchy orientals haha! However I do consider it as a chypre as well. This is also animalic which is wonderful.
    Great reviews :)

Diva is a really beautiful one and I picture Monica Belluci wearing a black midi dress and wearing Diva. Probably my next night perfume for the next 5 years.
I agree that Ysatis is more a floral Chypre because it has this green woody note at the opening. For me, it is one of the most beautiful Givenchy perfume. Very very elegant. I can definitely wear this one during the day !

This is interesting … Amarige and Ysatis are both Dominique Ropione masterpieces and he has now had great success with the L’interdit line all with Givenchy. If you research him on fragrantica you’ll see all of his creations. You’ll probably like most of them. I have so many in my collection- one of his best hidden gems is Le Parfum by Lalique. Long time ago I loved wearing Van Cleef & Arpels - First, Ungaro - Diva, Givenchy - Ysatis, Dior - Poison, and Yves Saint Laurent - Opium. I have been wearing new, modern perfumes mostly. Occasionally vintage perfumes but you can’t just walk into any shop and buy it in person. I don’t like online shopping for fragrances. So with vintage perfumes I really have to go hunting from store to store all over the city.

Hello Sophia, I review First, Diva, Ysatis and Opium. You can find them in my videos. I buy a lot online on ebay and etsy which is the occasion to find old perfumes I never heard about. I recently discovered Murmure and Birmane by Van Cleef. Huge love for Murmure which is extremely beautiful but was not a commercial success (I don't understand). But you don't have the experience you get in a Perfume boutique. I think perfumes boutique are the only shop they can't be replaced online.
