Suan Sonna is a Baptist convert to Catholicism who is dedicated to curating the best Catholic intellectual content on philosophy, politics, and theology. He is also passionate about engaging people outside of the Catholic tradition on issues relevant to the Church. - Zábava
The catholic brothers are my most recent pearl discovery on CZcams. Let s go!
Mine, too!
For anybody reading this I can't recommend enough listening to The Catholic Brothers, 'First 500 years series' on their channel, it's really really good. I found it brilliant to listen to alongside Bible in a Year series with Fr. Mike or just reading for myself. Providing context and historical background really helps to understand and animate the characters in the Scriptures & see the world they live in with more clarity.
Thanks so much for this discussion Intellectual Catholic 👍
I will look into them. I am trying to find more Catholic channels besides Pints or Catholic Answers. I find myself watching much more Orthodox content, especially related to symbolism and typologies. We need some more Catholic representation in that space!
Not a bad idea, was thinking about picking up bible in a year, will supplement it with their series, thanks and God bless ❤️🙏🏽
Going to watch later. Got Catholic Brothers account on subscribe for sometime.
It seems that Gavin's argument is more bark than bite
A lot of his stuff is like this. He speaks very well and is polite when debating but for me it doesn’t add any validity to what he is saying or his view.
Good stuff here, thanks for sharing 👍
Did the livestream about pre-Christ veneration of saints get canceled??
Good stuff
I would love to hear more on that Protestantism and Rabbinical Judaism. That is so spot on. I’ve had the same observation.
You can check out our First 500 Years series, esp the episodes on rabbinical Judaism, for some more on that.
The bros!
Does anathema mean outside of the Church or separation from God for eternity? Asking because I have heard it defined both ways.
It depends on how the one issuing the anathema interprets the phrase “extra ecclesiam nulla solus”
So what I've gathered from this is, to be steeped in history is to cease to be Protestant? Lol
Pretty much. The light of the truth overwhelms darkness.
👍
