Starting out in the world of luxury fragrance can be very daunting with so many brands and selections to choose from. The thing is, if we dont start somewhere, we more than likely will never experience what it has to offer. In this conversation, I discuss where I got my start with Luxury home fragrance and give some recommendations on some pretty incredible scents that you may want to experience for yourself. That first step is the most important!

I also started with Harlem Candle Co, Lady Day. I love how the scent fills the room. It. has a long burn time and made it worth the money.
Mannn.. Your recommendation have been on point.. Like the Tom Ford, Harlam nights, Apotheke, Boy smells.. All great candles
Rakeema I love your channel! My entry to luxury candles was Park London an English candle company. I was visiting Paris and my very stylish Airbnb was stocked with these lovely candles. The boxes and vessels are nice. Since it wasn’t my home I didn’t burn the candles but the cold throw was enticing. I ordered some when I returned home there’s a great variety of scents love them but don’t often see them mentioned.
I also am currently obsessed with Diptyque Mimosa , Figuer, Baies and 34. I’m a fan of their car fresheners too!
I started with Diptyque as well. I had read up as much as possible online before visiting their store here in Chicago. I had noted the scents from online that I was interested in smelling firsthand, but when I got to the store, many of the scents I imagined I would like from the online descriptions ended up not being my favorite, and vice versa. Scents I hadn’t originally took note of based on their online description did catch my attention when smelling firsthand. It immediately helped me understand that I should only buy based on the actual experience rather than a description. Thank you for offering your style and good vibes, Rekeema!

My start was Boy Smells candles. They are a mix of beeswax and coconut wax and burn great. My favorite scents are the st. Al and the Figurare but they have even stronger candles like the hinoke fantome. Im getting the grace jones candle next from them.

Dude this channel has introduced me into a hobby I didn’t know I needed. I’ve been watching for a couple months now.
I started with Apotheke where I have gotten a whole lot of their products (Earl Grey Bitters being my favorite). Then I fell for Harlem Candle Co. Speakeasy. I am so into the exploration of scent I got a several Trudon candles. I felt here I was satisfied with my collection. But now I just bought a couple of Charles Farris candles and a Diptyque room spray. I just can’t seem to stop… hahah
We're definitely in this together lol. You have a great collection of diverse brands! Im loving it! That Diptyque room spray is noteworhy for its strength, so beware! hahah
Glad there's a luxury channel I can watch before I get started with my 1st luxury candle purchase. I've tried DW from Marshall's and TJMAXX, and I like this brand. Tfs.👌🏾🙂

Diptyque was my gateway as well. Since discovering you’re Channel I’ve gone a bit crazy now lol so far my favorites are pf teak and tobacco and Harlem candle co Langston and speakeasy . As well as some cire trudon :)

I started out with Diptyque and I enjoy their Pomander, Santal, Ambre, Figuier, Mimosa and Tubereuse candles. I need to try PF Candle Co. I have tried Harlem Candle Co and I'm currently burning through Speakeasy and it's pretty good but not a repeat purchase. I have to try Langston next. I did burn halfway through Savoy and I wasn't into that one unfortunately.

I absolutely love your Posts & respect your advice.... I dove Head first into CANDLES 2 yrs. ago... Retired ... Left my Farm & moved in W) nty daughter... All these Candle ads popped up on my Phone ... & I Bought A LOT!!! Thousands of $$$
.. I& I have Learned A LOT!!!!! But I have not tried Diptyke(so?) Yet ... PF Candle Co. Disappointed me..... HARLEM is very nice... VOLUSPA got me into Wonderful unusual Scents(& away from Floral only)... ROSY RINGS ... LOR DE SERPHINE.... GUY FOX... Jonathan ADLER ... NEST ( Wonderful!!!! )... And a little co. BLACK LIGHT CANDLES. has Amazing wood wicks & scents.. GARDEN MINT brings back Beautiful Memories!!! & JUST MAKES SCENTS has the most Perfect ROSE Anywhere!!!.... I know this is terribly long.. +(! sorry)... But I'm still looking for the PERFECT HEAT THROW!!!!

I really enjoy your videos. Keep up the great work. I’ve found many brands I didn’t know about. I’ve spent a ton of money on candles in the last few weeks based off of your reviews. I’m located in Germany so it’s easier for me to get Trudon candles than it is Harlem Candle Company. On the fashion front if you wear a skin colored undershirt it won’t show when you are wearing a white top shirt.
I love the Seda France Quince two-wick candle in the porcelain toile container. It is VERY similar to Diptyque Baies, but I would say it is a little smoother and it also costs less for a bigger candle. Having that incredible lidded container with the tassel as keepsake afterward seals it for me.
I actually just got this candle at the beginning of the month and I burn it practically every single day and it’s lasted the whole month. I may have to put this one subscription. It’s definitely a keeper if you like Baies.
@@earphbound720 Yes, it lasts and it covers my whole house in about 15 minutes. It also lingers a good while afterward. I wish there was a Candle Delirium where I live so I could try out more scents before buying!

Diptyque was my introduction as well. Lys has my heart with 34 close behind. Harlem Candle Company candles are such an experience! You really feel as if you are in Josephine Baker's boudoir or in a dimly light club listening to Langston share his prose. Highly recommend.

For me, Diptyque is hands down my fave brand, but I do buy candles from other brands as well. I know what you mean about Baies scent, I can get a bit tired of it as well, but I use the room spray on my sheets before bed, it's just a wonderful scent to go to bed with along with figuier. But I burn their candles the most, esp Feu de Bois and Chêne. I have burned them for many years. My first candle and perfume from the was in 1996. So I will call myself a loyal fan.
I do like PF Candle Co as well. Amazing scents, but their candles don't burn well for me, sadly.
I wish Harlem Candle Co was available here in Denmark.

I think I may have overused my Baies room spray. I would spray my bed sheets, sofa, and curtains every morning and night lol. I was burning the love scent from Harlem Candle Co. in the 22k gold vessel. Its a very strong rose scent that I wish I could burn more often.
Have you tried or are familiar with the candles in Vellabox? I figure a candle subscription may not be a bad place to start for variety, especially for the price if I want a longer-burn candle (about $29-35)

I just want to say thank you for introducing me to PF Candle Co (probably from the budget candle vid). I wasn't even really into candles before but now I guess I am!
Something I wonder though is what to do with all the extra candle holders... you can only have so many pencil holders and trinket cups. Are there any good candle brands that sell refills/wax-only candles? I'm guessing not bc it's not exactly "luxury" but worth asking.

Thank you so much! If you're in LA but PF has a candle jar return (3 minimum) that go towards a free candle after 10 punches. I recycle if I cant find a use for them. It would be amazing if brands offered refills. L:a Bruket is a great brand that has refills for their candles.

Do you recommend Paddywax candles?
I ordered a couple of the P.F teakwood & tobacco candles, unfortunately the scent is very very subtle, can barely smell it at all honestly.
Malin & Goetz candles are the best value candles I've found so far
Is Paraffin wax the reason why bath & bodyworks candles burn out so fast?
what's the issue with paraffin wax in candles? Is that a bad ingredient?

Suit Supply is my go to for sure. I also utilize Zara for the items I can wear for a couple years. I thrift for jackets as well lol.
Figuier is ABSOLUTELY amazing. But Feu De Bois and Oud are good if you like woody. I also like to burn Baies and Lys together. I literally own every room spray they make and 34, Baies, Roses, Figuier, and Sapin de Lumiere are my absolute favs. I’m a die hard fan… please send help 😅

You should check out the sale that Jomashop is having on Lalique candles. Not sure if they are soy or not but they are drastically marked down. I have 6 on order.

@@DetailedDream The Lalique Chili La Paz Bolivie candle is still $19.99 at Jomashop and of the 6 different candles I order, Chili is the standout. A spicy rich churchy cold throw. Definitely different from the mainly floral scent of the other 5 candles. I order several more. The Neroli candle also stands out since I could smell it without opening the box!!
I also started with Diptyque but no longer buy because of the paraffin content. Except their Tubereuse, I can't quit that scent.
That Tubereuse is hard to beat! I have it in the room spray that I use to mist my bedding.
