    FYI this isn’t exactly the Khmer Rouge or pol pot as pol pot was busy hiding in the bushes.
    This is the Kampuchea coalition government in exile or something like that. The prince of cambodia and some high ranking Khmer Rouge official merged together and created a new party under the Khmer Rouges identity

      Pol Pot was recognized by the capitalist west and the PRC as the legitimate leader of Cambodia, until the monarchy was restored in 1993.

      Ночной Позор yep and they were called the Collation Government of Democratic Kampuchea form by three coalitions (Khmer Rouge, KPNLF and FUNCINPEC) which essentially occupied Cambodian seat at the UN from 1982-1991.

  • @RevolutionarySM
    @RevolutionarySM Před 5 lety +5

    For the capitalist world (USA and Great Britain) and state-capitalist China, the genocidal regime of Pol Pot was the legitimate government of Cambodia. This only changed after the pro-Vietnamese stalinists abandoned their Marxist facade and embraced the Kingdom of Cambodia, set up in 1993. Stalinist leader Hun Sen became a monarchist en remains ruler of Cambodia till this day. It was thanks to Hun Sen that Norodom Sihanouk was allowed to become king again. The guy here standing next to the banner of Pol Pot and the anthem of ''Democratic Kampuchea'' is Norodom Sihanouk himself, as his monarchists had allied themselves with the Khmer Rouge, who denounced communism in 1982. ''Democratic Kampuchea'' died not in 1979 but in 1993 when the new Kingdom of Cambodia was proclaimed and recognized. The People's Republic of Kampuchea and State of Cambodia were never seen as legitimate by China and the USA!

      No. Pol pot was a genocidal dictator, who if you support are not a real marxist. He himself admitted that he just used communist asthaethics for nationalist goals, grow up. Please.

    • @theyabib3323
      @theyabib3323 Před rokem

      @Kabal-nm2cb Yea, ok so his primitivism and ethno-nationalism and the fantasy of restoring a long lost empire are marxist... Right...
      Just because he did some socialist policies and land reforms doesn't mean you should champion him, but by all means give the sources to enlighten me why he was a great man.
      Also, to say that anime was 'made by imperialists' is just nonsensical, it was made by a convergance of japanese and american *culture*, partly due to imperialist pressure. It makes a difference first of all, and second of all it's unmarxian to be caught up in blind anti-americanism and astethics like that...
      GROW UP.

    • @theyabib3323
      @theyabib3323 Před rokem

      @Kabal-nm2cb No problem with your english, I can understand it just fine, english is not my first language as well. Anyways.
      Well first of all, the fact there is footage of '...kids studying in technical schools under his rule to participate in industrial production in the future...' does not prove anything. Of course saying he was a primitivist is a characterization, but he did in large abandon the major cities for rural/agrarian socialism.
      Second of all, suppression of religion in that way is not good. Not at all. Socialists/communists should strive to limit religious institutions and make them be transparent as well as secularize the state from organized religion, but they should never supress personal practice of religion.
      Third of all, no. You're wrong. 'Anti-americanism' is not needed. Anti-imperialism is needed, coincedentally the US is one of the largest empires. We should oppose that, but not be blindly shouting at the US all the time.
      A good example would be you talking about anime, when this kind of 'cultural imperialism' is really the least of our problems, and can only really be considered as such, when the grounds on which the other culture integrates itself is forceful, which as a whole other argument. Still though, the act of consumption of anime itself is in no way imperialist or furthers imperialism, that is nonsense based on blind anti-americanism, not anti-imperialism.
