I currently have my male in an 18x18x18 enclosure and the female is in a 12x12x18 so we were planning on breeding in my enclosure because it’s bigger and I don’t want to put them in a smaller one. But you were saying to put the female in the tank and let her get comfortable and then add in the male afterwards. However, my male is in the bigger tank so I’m not sure how I would do this? Would I affect anything if I put in the female after the male?

    • @reptiliangarden
      @reptiliangarden  Před 4 lety

      Steve Vazquez Thank you! You should still measure the temperature and humidity in a tub. You don’t want it to be consistently moist, because it will cause mold and bacteria to grow. You’ll want a dry period during the day to keep everything healthy. A tub I’ll naturally lock in more humidity for a longer time which helps.

    I have a Male crested gecko and I’ve just bought a 45x45x90 tank and it’s huge!
    So I was thinking to get another crestie but as you said males may fight. But getting a female means I’ll most likely end up with eggs which I don’t think I really want as Idk if I’ll even be able to find homes for babies?! Especially if it’s on a regular basis.
    Is there anyway I can avoid any of these?
    So maybe get a female crestie from a breeder that doesn’t lay eggs as I’ve seen a few breeders selling females that haven’t bred. maybe try a Male which I don’t think I will do as I don’t want them to get injured.
    It’s just a big tank and I think it would be good to get another as I have the space?
    I just don’t know 😂
