Leonardo DiCaprio Reacts To Lily Gladstone's Audition Surprise

- Leonardo DiCaprio couldn't have higher praise for his newest leading lady. The Academy Award winner teams up once again with director Martin Scorsese for "Killers of the Flower Moon," which adapts the acclaimed non-fiction book that chronicles the horrific massacre of Osage Nation members over oil-rich tribal land in the 1920s. Leo and co-star Lily Gladstone told Access Hollywood's Zuri Hall about bringing such a harrowing piece of American history to the big screen and how they bonded over their common goal to make sure the movie was as authentic to the Osage experience as possible. Lily also confirmed that she never formally auditioned with the Hollywood icon and recalled how surprised she was to find out she'd landed the role before the pair had even read lines together. "They gave me the part and I was like, 'Wait, no, no, we've got one more step!'" she laughed, adding that she "threw the phone across the room" and "screamed." As if that weren't meaningful enough, Lily added that the timing carried particular significance to the story she was about to tell. "That was Dec. 1, and nobody planned it this way but Dec. 1 is Mollie Burkhart's birthday," she said, prompting a "wow" from Leo. "So right away I had the excitement but then it was like, 'Oh, that's a good reminder of what I'm actually here to do,'" she said. "Killers of the Flower Moon" is in theaters now.

Lily and Leo are a perfect professional match. Top tier actors that told a very profound story. Great casting and I’m glad the story was told the way it was instead of following the total direction of the book. I hope we see Lily on the big screen more often. She was great in rez dogs too.

If he doesn’t want to settle down just yet or go through divorced he dates ppl who don’t want either. I am so glad to see that Finally a Story of what it's been like to grow up in a World for Aboriginal People and from a Female's View on this and their Culture.
I am of First Nations Aboriginal decent and the Horrors of what l endured as a small baby girl thrown into the Life of " A Residential Orphanage back in my Homeland"! Even in this present time things have been a Challenge especially as a single woman for many Years now. What l have witnessed still to this day the Discrimination and Modern Day Slavery that does Exist. I have yet to see this Movie and yes it might be a difficult one to watch as l am a Sensitive Woman whom carries a great deal of Compassion Empathy and Dignity for those Cultures that are Targeted, and our Lost Cultures due to Ignorance Of a Power for the
" Indoctrination"of a Beautiful Culture and Genocide of Our Culture.
It time to Awaken this World to what really has taken place.
Leonardo DiCaprio, has a Real sense for such Stories to be told and bring to the Light! God Bless 🙏🙏 🙏🙏 for this.
I know this Movie will really hit me as l had just recently lost two older sister's because of our Past growing up in such a Orphanage Institution as they Labeled it and one baby brother whom has been missing for 10 yrs now.

Everytime i see them it really hits home how young the girls are that Leo dates. I know we all know that but when you see him with lilly who is STILL 12 years younger its even more shocking. What would it even look like with a 50 year old woman by his side. Mind blown. Lol

While I'm glad that soneone with Native Amerocan ancestry played this key role, especially as a BIIPOC woman myself, yet I found her to be so utterly deadpan and expressionless. She looks exactly the same during her moments of joy and bettaylal. With some actors, you can see worlds or oceans inside of their eyes, but not with her. She is thr most deadpan expressionless actor I have seen in ages and I eanted to fall in love with her.
Idk…w/all due respect to your perspective I think as a Native woman myself for the most part native ppl are perceived in the way Lily portrayed Mollie. After all, nonNative ppl “labeled” native ppl as stoic. I think Lily (Gladstone) gave a phenomenal performance as Mollie. I hope she gets all the glory bcz she deserves it…I hope she wins an Oscar as the first native, first native woman, & she would be the first. That would be amazing!
