This card also seems like a viking reference since they sometimes used ravens they send out to see if land is nearby. If the raben returns there is no land if it stays away they are close lol
i like when they do this kind of gimmicks but the card is still good
And Odin, the leader of their pantheon, had two ravens that would relay information to him.

This card is very good for Plunder Patroll, now we just need:
- A link 1 EARTH monster (like Whitebeard), that searches their field spell, and can equip itself to a monster if it is in the GY.
- A link 3 WIND monster (most likely a boat), that negates spells/traps and can recycle plunder patroll spells/traps that are banished or in the GY with a draw 1 after recycling.
earth is now out and I think plunder also needs a water ship tbh

The fact that plunder patrol got something this good for the archetype that makes it function 100 times better there's hope for volcanics.

This unironically solves almost every issue the deck has which for the most part is keeping resources in the hand. The majority of the time as long as you have discard fodder you're good to go and this card... Holy shit, this turns every single plunder bar white beard into a 2 card blackbeard that adds a plunder back to hand for discard material. And then not only that does something when discarded, please give it to me now
I should have picked up a plunder core, but damn my indecision. I had a gut feeling they would be good though.
@@shawnjavery I've had the deck built for months now, thinking more on the card is still doesn't help the lack of attributes lol, but this card is very very good
@@JacobKendrick nah I think you're wrong, it does SO much more for the deck. You basically get to do a large portion of their combos with one less card now. It seems like now the deck has competent two card combos, and the second effect of it just seems like it will make the post turn one plays even better, hard summoning the rank 4 doesn't seem too difficult now. The attributes thing is meh. What there's adamancipator last format, VW now, and I guess tribrigade can also kinda play around it? Everything else in the meta doesn't really have an option to deny attributes like those decks, and even for them there is a pretty steep trade off in doing so. Ashing a plunder card for instance immediately leaves VW vulernerable to some extent.
It's like what happened with prankids with their link 1, although to a much lesser extent. The new support they get let's you stream line the combo, meaning you can use the rest of your hand to do more while also raising the ceiling on what you can do with just the combo in the first place. Having the ability to summon a secobt plunder from the equip zone seems like it will come up for instance, either as a play after turn one or if you have a particularly plunder heavy hand turn one.

People who claim this card is okay probably never played Plunders themselves.
The deck is still missing a earth and wind attribute extra deck monster, but boy, this card fixes/improves one of their biggest problems: GETTING RESOURCES BACK INTO THEIR HAND FROM THE GY. Salvage was their only way to do that, and now they get a new target for it that also does a similar job to salvage while being a extender at the same time.
I was expecting a Pen-God clip but I'm not disappointed this was fun to watch.
The craziest part is that they didn't do the "You can only use one effect per turn" and let you use both effects the same turn. Plunder patrol sailing toward Meta this season
That is why I am buying phantom rage and eternity code! These sets are about to go crazy in value with this kind of support. The lowest ETCO plunder patrol secret already went of $2 and is now like $4.5 which is crazy!

No Ritual please just a wind, and earth extra deck monster. Like make the wind monster put a card back on top the deck for the opponent then add a plunder monster from grave. Then make the earth bainsh a card from the opponent grave then add back plunder spell, and traps.
I'd say the odds at getting them are pretty high still, dream mirrors got more than one card for their support in blazing vortex after all.

Hilariously, this thing is mostly good in Trinity Format just because it recycles your one of ships, the combo potential is irrelevant and it's still amazing.

I just realised the red beard shipyard loop isn't even that good anymore, you bounce this back with yard, SS this to add back red beard, discard red beard to search a monster, red beard equip, summon the monster and turn guide and the monster into Blackbeard then use this to special summon that Redbeard back, that's like a +3 for no reason omg
