I downloaded elvui last night & spent a couple hours trying to figure out what was where, where to look etc & got pretty frustrated as i've been using the old school original wow interface since i started 15 years ago lol. this video was soooooooooooo helpful. Thank you for saving my sanity :) The only thing i cant figure out from this is how to make it so the /ec interface is opaque instead of the current translucent style. I like the look of yours a lot better, easier on the ol' eyes :) Thanks again! edit: subbed! & you're a fellow Canadian!? sweet :D
I'm very glad to hear that I could help and thank you so much for the sub! :) ElvUI is definitely very daunting at first and it takes a while to figure out all the ins and outs of the addon. To change the opacity and/or colour of the interface, you can go to General -> Media and at the bottom in the Colors section, click on the box next to "Backdrop Faded Color". This will allow you to change the transparency of the menu with the sliding bar that appears in the pop up color wheel as well as change the color of the interface if you would like to do so. I hope this helps! Also I am a fellow Canadian from west coast BC! :D

This is a fantastic tutorial great job! Question how did you get your good you show up like? Also can you get your bags to pop up if you click that gold icon?
Thank you!! I don't understand your first question unfortunately but to get your bags to pop up, you click the bag icon that is between the gold coins icon and the brush icon within your bags.

Great content mate i am new to elvui and this really helped but do you know If i go into stealth or change stances on warrior how do i get it so my action bar changes relevant to stealth/stance
@25:42 When you are explaining how to adjust unit frames > Raid Frames. Just hit the tab that says display Frames, and then it would of gave you 20 raid frames you could of adjusted for your demonstration.
Great explanation and easy to follow. I have a quick question, those text frames in combat that show the ability cooldowns on the side are hella annoying, how can you adjust or modify those ones? Hopefully, I explained myself well enough

I've been fiddling around with the chat boxes (normal+trade). Is there a way to make them appear with activity (incoming messages/etc.) and fade out when nothing has happened for a while? Not just transparent but fade out entirely. I know u can toggle it with a keybind, but I want it to happen automatically with 'activity' as I like to call it.
Im not talking about the text in the chat frames (although that of course too at the same time the frames would fade out). I know you can do that w text in ElvUI.
Is there a way to do this with ElvUI (I dont think so), a plugin or an addon?
Unfortunately I don't believe that this is possible with ElvUI. There may be a plugin or addon that is able to do this but I'm not familiar with it if there is one out there. Sorry I couldn't be of more help with this issue but thanks for watching!!

Great video Ive referred back to it several times but im having a big issue, I cant figure out how to see buffs and debuffs on party frames. Its enabled in unit frames>party but shows nothing?
Hey, thanks for the guide, it helped alot the only thing I may need a little extra hand with is the name plates for enemies as they seem to not show up regardless of what I do! Are you able to help at all?
Clicking V toggles Enemy Nameplates on and off; Control V Toggles All Nameplates on and off, and then I believe as long as you don't have a Keybind for Shift V like I do it toggles your friendly nameplates on and off. Hope this helps

I have one problem, I found an Elvui Profile for my mage and impored it ... everything works fine there ... now I wanted to have the same UI-look on my DK ... Is it possible that some stuff is class specific and kinda messed up my DK now? I can't see the Pet bar for example ... and die "aura procs" (the bars that appear when you get free-casts etc) are missing too I think...

Thank you!! Yeah importing an ElvUI profile for one class may cause some issues when using it for a different class as it is likely not set up for that different class. For your pet bar, you should be able to enable it and edit it's look but going to ActionBars -> Pet Bar and configuring its settings from there. As for Aura Procs, I do not believe ElvUI has an option for this, but you should be able to enablge Aura Procs in the Blizzard Interface settings by going to Game Menu -> Interface -> Combat -> Spell Alert Opacity and setting that to high (or off if you prefer). I hope this helps!

Thank you!! Unfortunately I have not been able to find a fix for this issue within ElvUI currently as I believe the option it previously had to group these addon buttons has been removed. However, there are other addons you can get to group up these addons buttons and place them where you would like. Minimap Button Frame is a popular one that is used to perform this function.

Great and helpful, but I'm blessed with poor eyesight and have to have my UI large enough to see buttons, but can't seem to make the text smaller because it is HUGE and cuts off due to font size. Not in the chat box, in windows like trade skills and vendors. Where would I find this setting?

I do like your rune and runic power tracking, would love to set that up. Also, my buttons look like blizzard buttons, how would I change that? They're not squared-off like yours.
Thank you so much! You should be able to change your buttons by going to ActionBars and clicking on Enable. This should override Blizzard buttons to ElvUI buttons. To edit the lay out of these buttons you can then go to ActionBars -> Player Bars -> Bar #. You should be able to edit the buttons here. I would specifically look at the Button Spacing option and bring that down to 0 or 1, whichever you prefer. My ElvUI profile can be on my wago.io profile at wago.io/p/Jakinto. You can definitely import my profile so you have it just like mine!

Would love to send a pic, sort of hard to explain. But the buttons above the rune tracker, are empty. What am I missing?

Thank you!! To change the font in the bottom panels you can open the ElvUI menu and go to DataTexts -> General, you will see a "Fonts" portion where you can change the font size/type there!

Thank you! Having the whisper window go into a different tab than General chat is a Blizzard Default UI option. If you go to the main Blizzard menu and select Interface -> Social and find the "New Whispers" drop down menu, you can change this to "New Tab" so that each whisper you receive from a new person goes into a different tab in your chat. I have been playing for a day and really enjoying your setup. is there a way to change the color of the runes so that its not a similar color to the runic power? They are hard to differentiate during intense fights. Thanks.
I'm glad you've been enjoying the UI! To change the color of your runes you can go to UnitFrames -> General -> Colors -> Class Resources. From there, click the color box beside Runes and you can change it to whatever color you prefer

Hey, where I can find the option for Venthyr Kyrian etc symbol on my map?
If you go to the ElvUI Menu and select Maps -> Minimap -> Garrison Report, make sure the "Hide" option is not checked. If it is checked, uncheck Hide and reload your UI. If it is not checked, try to click off the "Enable" button on Maps -> Minimap, then re-enable it and reload your UI. I have heard both of these fixes have worked for others. I hope this helps!

I'm not seeing Debuff COLORS on my Party Frames or Raid Frames -- how do you ensure you can see Debuff Colors as a overlay on Party and Raid Frames and only show Dispellable Debuffs? :)

Hey, question i dont want elvui and everything that comes with it but the only thing i want from elvui is the black theme like the menu color and talents are all sort of black i only want the black color but nothing else is there a way to get that iinstead of the whole elvui package ?
You would be able to do this by downloading ElvUI and disabling all of the other parts of ElvUI that you do not want, which will revert those components to the standard Blizzard UI. This might take a little while as disabling certain components required you to reload your UI so it would be a fair number of reloads. I am not sure if there is an easier way to do this other than that. I hope this helps!
Got a problem, hope u can help, blood dk raise undead on default has a special timer on blizzar ui that elvui does not show and i cant check how much time i have left on the undead to sac it, how can i put it on elvui
The duration of your ghoul from Raise Dead can be tracked using the Class Totems option. This is found on the General tab of ElvUI. You just have to enable Class Totems and adjust the buttons to how you like them! I found this out recently as well and I have updated my ElvUI profile on wago.io to include this which can be found here: wago.io/GG4xB95gT
Is there a way to make the nameplates stack better? I have stacking nameplates on but they seem so close together it is more like overlap.
There is! If you go to NamePlates -> General -> General, there are options to change the "Overlap Vertical" and "Overlap Horizontal" for Stacking Nameplates.
Is there a way to change the font size/type of the FPS/MS/TIME down the bottom? Can't seem to do it.
If you open the ElvUI menu and go to DataTexts -> General, you will see a "Fonts" portion where you can change the font size/type there!

What section covers getting your guy to say something if he performs an interrupt, I've seen forums it's in general but I can't seem to find it
This can indeed be found in General but it is isn't really in an intuitive place. If you go to General -> General, this is noted as "Announce Interrupts". It is the 4th drop down option in this tab. I hope this helps!

I have all the plugins done but for some reason I didn't get the core dependent one in. Anyone know what I missed?
When I try to type in /ec i just get an error message saying, "Error -- Addon "ElvUI_OptionsUI" not found. Any thoughts? Little lost here.
If you go to the AddOn list in WoW's Main Menu, there should be 2 ElvUI AddoOn options ticked on. One being "ElvUI" and the other being "ElvUI Options UI". Ensure that both of these are check marked as not having the "ElvUI Options UI" turned on may be the problem. If this is already turned on, you can try deleting the 2 ElvUI folders in your AddOns folder as there may be an issue with the ElvUI OptionsUI folder. I hope this helps!
@@Jakinto where did you download elvUI, because I download it on CurseForge but I miss elvUI options how to do it I tried to uninstall and install but nothing changes
@@matteo-ux2go I downloaded ElvUI through the tukui website here: www.tukui.org/download.php?ui=elvui. You will have to download it manually but the website will always be up to date with the latest ElvUI build!
Hey when I try to use the /ec command it won't let me enter it do you know if it's a glitch

How did you increase the individual text size of player health/name/power etc?
To increase the text size of these you can go to UnitFrames -> General -> General and at the bottom you will see a Fonts section where you can change the font and the font size. If you would like to change these individual texts, you will have to create custom texts which can be as bit more work. www.tukui.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=6 is a link to a guide that will show you how to do it. is there a way to change the way the skin shows for my i want the dark theme now but not sure how to change it to the dark theme
You're able to change the color of your ElvUI skins by going to General -> Media and changing the various parameters under Colors. I'm not sure if you can regain the Dark Theme specifically after setting ElvUI up for the first time, but you can certainly remake it by changing these colors and even customize it more!
