Lol, I remember having to remove the motor mount while replacing the timing belt, TB tensioner, pulleys, and water pump on a ST185. If you're going to own & work on one of these cars, be sure to get the shop manual before you begin, as every bolt has a specified torque setting. *_TRUST !!_*
Great information on the cam seals. I need to replace mines it has a slow leak 🤦♂️
A bit hard to reach with engine in the car but with some patience it’s possible.

Do you know where to find the torque specifications for gen4? I see some MR2 vendors who sells them for Gen5. I assumed gen4 and 5 are different?
Torque specs are same for gen4/5. I detailed engine torque specs on my videos so hopefully you can watch.
Is that a factory engine lift hook right by the exhaust cam gear? My gen4 has a wimpy little hook on a single bolt
Yes its the hook from a mr2 3sgte engine. You can also modify the hook from a 5sfe engine to fit.
@@bitingantz good to know, thanks!
Hey bro, the pulley 3sge (no beams) st202 its the same that 3sgte st205 ?
Hello. Thank you for reaching out. I dont have any experience with that engine so im unable to assist with that question. Sorry.
Great
Thanks for watching
Where can I purchase a nice/new GEN4 valve cover like the one on your engine video?
My cover was polished, its not new for sure. Your best bet is ebay at this point.
@@bitingantz Thank you for the very quick reply. I will look at ebay.
can you put a link for where you got the seals from i can’t find anywhere for a gtse st215

would the gen 3 be the same torque specs as this?
Yes it should, engines are basically the same except for updated ignition on the gen4
Where do you buy these engine from? Looking for a Gen 4 replacement currently.
Your best bet is on ebay or finding a local jdm engine supplier. Where are you located?
@@bitingantz would need to be shipped on the Florida area.
Try JDM of Orlando
Hey hey. Is there a way to contact you? Are you on the Forums?
Yes im on mr2oc as Bittingantz
Can I no the number of tooth from intake cam to exhaust cam and to crank gear make. Gen4 3sgte
For gen4 3sgte
19 grooves/dips from intake cam to exhaust cam
If i remember correctly 63 grooves/dips to the crank pulley from the exhaust cam counting clockwise. I have to double check this on my oem belt.
@@bitingantz Are these counts on the timing belt the same for Gen2 as well? Thank you in advance!
@@glennecalne3977 the gen2 belt is different so I would say no
