Obito Uchiha is one of the most important characters in the series. Not because he is a hero, but because he is a villain. A young boy with hopes, dreams and a heart full of kindness and caring, he ultimately fell into the Uchiha’s curse of hatred, something that Madara Uchiha stated well. Hatred is born in order to protect love. And that phrase marks the downfall of Obito. His love for Rin, as well as his inability to be there for her, and his trust in Kakashi being betrayed by the latter’s hand… and I mean that literally… in her death gave Obito a bitter pill, a taste of that reality that Madara had awakened him to. While someone like Kakashi is living in light, Obito lives in darkness. While the villages win the wars, the shinobi lose their lives. That was the turning point for Obito. The point where he believed that life in this reality just wasn’t worth living. It would be better to retreat into the dream world Where Rin could still exist than to be in this world where only pain, suffering and futility existed. This led to the whole Akatsuki thing, as layer upon layer of hidden string was laid by generations of villains, both living and dead to facilitate their own ends. To a point, it’s almost ridiculous how many people are manipulated into manipulating someone else. It’s like watching a marionette control a marionette controlling a marionette. To a point, I wouldn’t have been surprised when watching the anime for the first time to discover that Kaguya was being controlled by the Otsutsuki god or whatever. But regardless, there is an important side to Obito here that we need to remember. He turned good at the end. Right there, at the hairy end, he decided it would be best to forsake his entire life’s goal up to that point just to preserve the world whose reality had so destroyed him; destroyed his body, his love, his life and his dreams. At that time, he joined Naruto and the others, taking some Tailed Beast Chakra from Madara and sending it to Naruto to help keep him alive. Obito would later, during the climactic fight with Kaguya Otsutsuki throw himself in the way of the All-Killing Ash Bones to save Naruto’s life. And it was this sacrifice that gave them all a chance to beat Kaguya. But, sometimes I sit and think “What would the Naruto world look like if Obito had survived this battle”. Some of you may say “Oh! He becomes the Hokage just like he dreamed!” Well, some of you who believe that may be surprised… and not in a pleasant way.

Dude, this is the most comprehensive and in-depth What If Naruto video y'all have done so far... so many things were considered, even details as small as Rock Lee's career ending. Obito's character was depicted very well as well, keep it up!

I really wish you would do a part 2 to this and explore more lore. This was one of your best what-ifs I've ever listened to.

Obito would not have been recognized as the man who started the Fourth War in the first place. Technically, a masked Madara Uchiha started the war; and only a select few were there to see him unmasked. The allied shinobi forces were always far away from him, except for when he was the ten tails host in which case it would make sense that most people (especially who never met Obito) would not recognize him for either.
Yea but due to his involvement in the war and all the nonstop other crimes he did before that , he’d be either boruto orochimaru tier secluded and watched exclusively by guards but even more then oro or he’d probably get his eyes sealed like sasuke did at the end of the war or he’d get both.
@@meetthemoo225 My point is Obito Uchiha died a hero on Kanabi Bridge. Other than possibly Kabuto and obviously the characters who fought him towards the end of the war arc; everyone thinks Madara Uchiha is the one who started the fourth war. In Boruto, all of the characters who talk about the fourth war (Might Guy included) says it was Madara who started the war. Should Obito have survived, it would have been entirely to Kakashi's discretion what happened to him; as he would have been able to spin the situation any way he wanted. Not saying Kakashi actually would do this, but he could have simply said Obito was taken prisoner by Madara and was trapped in a dungeon somewhere or whatever; and nobody would have been the wiser besides a few of the main cast.
Plus only Kakashi and guy knows obito personally because they were his classmates and he died very young and he wasn't known enough as prodigy so many people even someone like orochimaru and kabuto doesn't know full extent of his abilities

The problem with Obito killing his younger self is that young Obito would not live long enough to go back in time to kill his younger self which would then mean he never went back in time to kill himself resulting in Obito continuing to live anyway and nothing changing.
He becomes the last survivor of the actual timeline

This is amazing and a truly perfect ending for such a tragic character, I like to think that this actually happened in some alternate timeline somewhere in the Naruto multiverse, easily one of the best fanfictions I've ever heard and I unironically want a spinoff series following this plot.
What if suggestions:
What if Kakashi got both of Obito's eyes at the kannabi bridge?
What if Naruto had the tenseigan?
What if Izuna (Madara's brother) survived?
What if Sasuke was born with the Rinnegan?
What if Indra became the sage of six paths?
What if Sasuke raised Naruto?
And lastly
What if Naruto was the one tail jinchuriki?

If Obito survived he'd have to spend the rest of his life in jail. There's just no way around it, he's killed way too many people.
Letting Sasuke off the hook was already very questionable, but Obito is 100x worse. Not only is he directly responsible for the war (where like 50,000 people died I think), he's also directly responsible for the Nine Tails attack on Konoha and all those deaths (including Minato and Kushina), indirectly responsible for all the people Akatsuki killed (since he put Nagto up to it), and both directly/indirectly for the Uchiha Massacre (not only did he directly participate, but it probably wouldn't have happened if he hadn't framed the Uchiha Clan for the nine tails attack). Also whatever he did in the Mist Village with Yagura, where I'm sure he also killed a bunch of people.
It's nice that he had a change of heart at the end but he's just too prolific a mass murderer for him to ever be free again, that would be BS. I don't think Kakashi would be able to get away with pardoning him...nor should he.
I have a story suggestion: what if Minato had Kurama instead of Kushina

During the timeskip, I think it would be interesting if that timelines Obito meeting the one we followed throughout the story because Obito they're Kamui's are linked to the same dimension. Urashiki would have to face against 2 Obito's and then both Obito's fight eachother maybe? Regardless I loved the story, excellent work as always!

Honestly Obito could've still possibly teleported the All Killing Ash Bones attack into the Kamui Dimension. If he was able to Kamui into an Automatic Dismantling Jutsu blast while teleporting himself and Sasuke away safely. Then he should've been capable of teleporting that away, even though he was worn down he still would be able to pull it off if Kakashi would've reacted fast enough.
I mean he did teleport/kamui-ed one ash bone, remember the one that was gonna hit kakashi when he jumped in front of sasuke? He teleported it away but he himself wanted to die because I guess he felt like there was nothing left for him anyway otherwise he would have survived
