    Home to the Moloka’i 2 O’ahu (M2O) race.
@jackfromtown had been eagerly waiting and training for this moment for years. The 18-year-old was more than ready to face the strong currents and to navigate the changing tides in a fast and epic downwinder across one of the most beautiful and powerful channels in the world.
Head to your CZcams channel to watch "Ka'iwi" and follow Jack on his journey through his first M2O - and certainly not the last.

Nice work. What an amazing race. So cool to see you flying over the waves. Share what foil fuse, and stab you were using?

How does he maintain momentum? I didnt think this could be done without a wing/kite!

      Hello,
Here is the foil principle : the front and rear wings work as lifting devices, which means they can create a lifting force from the flow of water that travels across them at speed. This is the reason why they are built with a specific sectional profile. The shape of the wings’ profile shall not be modified, filled and sanded. Doing so would alter the balance and prevent the correct operation of the foil.

@@FONECULTURE I understand the priciple of lift, but how do they keep so much forward momentum? Are they just continuously choosing the right waves to surf down? Is this kind of speed acheivable for long periods on a mirror still lake surface?
