Thank you for this! I hiked this trail in 1966 with parents and siblings. I've returned several times to Glen Aulin and the river area just below but never all the way down the river. What I recall from that first trip is 1) the rattlesnakes! 2) there is a side creek with the most exquisite swimming hole, and 3) the hike out of the river to Hardin almost kills the buzz

Hey Guys! I passed you on the 4th descending from white wolf! Thanks for the heads up about the Rattlesnakes! We had a blast on this trip, and somehow the bugs didn't bother us too much. Better luck next time!

Hey! HA small world! Glad the bugs weren’t so bad for you guys and that you enjoyed it more than we did!

Awesome video!! Did you think 3 days/2 nights is reasonable to complete the whole trail? Also, would August be a better month to do the hike in terms of bugs and weather?

We did it in 3days/2 nights, so yes it’s possibly but doesn’t give you much time for stopping to take in the sights. I think Aug is probably going to be pretty similar to July in terms of weather and bugs, maybe even warmer/muggier. I think Sept-early Oct would be the sweet spot
